Mainoo is a possession player who looks to pass, move, combine, and lure opponents in before breaking forward on the attack. The problem for him is he’s playing in a side that doesn’t have nearly enough possession players to complement him and bring the very best out of him.
Can you imagine the football he will play if Ten Hag actually had a full squad and team of possession players with the right mentality.

Mainoo is smoother on the ball than Pogba and plays a much simpler game. As great as Pogba looks on RUclips mashup videos, he played a very physical game and frequently lost possession because he was constantly trying to body players physically instead of keeping the ball moving.

The problem is the likes of Maguire, Wan-Bissaka, McTominay, Rashford, Casemiro, etc can’t play a possession game in tight spaces under sustained high pressure. It doesn’t matter who the manager is, United will never be able to dictate and control matches unless they recruit the right profile of players to compliment a player like Mainoo. Otherwise, he will look good in moments but he phased out of most matches and not have the maximum influence that he can really have on matches.
As an arsenal fan I have to say Mainoo from the small amount of games ive seen him in has a high footballing IQ for this age and will no doubt be a baller as a 8 going forward . He has great ball carrying and passing ability and he can dictate the tempo of the game knows when to slow things down and retain the ball or go forward and creates scoring chances for his teammates. He has great vision and fairly precise distribution.On a defensive contributions level he is timely with interceptions and tackles. His adaptability to different positions is also on a ridiculous level and has bags of agility in tight half spaces as well as amazing composure for this age. I cant see him failing at united he seems to be getting better and better in every game I see him in and doesn't shy away in difficult games and big games . United just need a certified 6 really like Amadou Onana which I hope arsenal can get.
I'd take mainoo to Arsenal for 90mill. He's got star written all over him!

I was a watching Man United when Ince first signed. He never looked as good as Kobbie is. He is on another level.
Ince was phenomenal when he played for us. And we won lots of trophies withhim in the side. Calm down. Mainoo has potential but he has many levels to reach before you start comparing him to players who already have the medals

Ince will be talking about Manchester United and saying we need to do this and that, like it's the club he supports, but at the same time wanting Liverpool to win the league. You can't support both United and Liverpool at the same time, so he needs to stop fooling around.

You are right, Mainoo is in the team to play all of the positions. He isn't doing his job that's why we are conceding too many shots in every game. He was even at fault for another late penalty because he should have been the one tackling, not Wan Bissaka.

Mainoo, on the other hand, has only played 26 times for Utd's first team.

His mind and body both need to develop also have to be patient because he will have bad games and make mistakes. All the greats did at his age Ronaldinho made mistakes at 18 so did Messi. Can someone please explain how Sky Sports give Mainoo man of the match on their player ratings? Scored a great goal but was fairly average apart from that. Mac Allister was head and shoulders above anyone on that pitch yesterday and Liverpool totally dominated the game.
