I watched the Cavs nets game yesterday, just to see what the nets were doing to keep it a really close game( nets were even leading in scoring until Darius Garland kept getting buckets in the final 5mins of the 4th 😂) but what I noticed was: nets didn't do anything special, they slowed the game down and really just did 1-2 passes followed by ISO ball and tough shots that went in. I've noticed that if a guard/wing is athletic and can stay attached to Steph, and Steph can't get separation, he struggles. This has been happening for a while, even noticed it in the Olympics against South Sudan. This season, in the 2 losses, clippers stayed attached and Cavs stayed attached. And the same applies to Buddy. If he can't get any separation, he struggles to get going.
Also, the warriors don't really have someone that can just go and get you a bucket when the other team is dragging us through the mud and we are in a rock fight-type of game 😂 Closest to that is Kuminga. If you recap the bucks 2 losses to the Cavs( very close games btw)... You can see that Dame and Giannis were just getting their way in their ISO possessions. And the bucks are a train wreck. Their defense is horrendous.
I agree with your comments. I am interested in seeing how the Warriors fare this next Monday when they play the Clippers again. Thanks again for the great comments!
