Knowing that one day my only true friends will disappear, that I will have to tread the ground for a long time and face the world alone without them dismays me.
I feel the same way! I could never really connect with people my age, that being said I've learnt to appreciate the times we live in today as well, there's still good, unique bands out there, there's definitely a few good things about today's world even if it seems quite bleak haha! It really used to get me down living in today's world, but honestly you have to look on the bright side, at least we can still appreciate this beautiful music, the art, the films the poetry! I'll never get over the fact that I'll never see Jim live... but I can close my door, turn the music loud and enjoy this music and that to me is priceless!

I remember when this started getting played around 1980-81. The radio version was tame compared to this version but you got the gist of where he intended it to go. Classic Doors a especially classic Jim Morrison for sure!
I heard this version first so when I heard the cleaned up version I was disappointed. He was such a provocateur, a true artist. When I die I instructed my family to play only two songs at my death party...The End and When The Music's Over.

An outstanding band!. Groups nowadays don’t have the music talent that these groups of the late 1960’-1970’s. The Doors were geniuses!. Jim Morrison was an exceptionally well schooled man. Jim attended the university of California Los Angeles.(UCLA) He attended from 1964-1965. He graduated with a Bachelors degree in film. He had an IQ of 149. Jim’s father wanted him to follow in his footsteps in the US Navy. George Stephen Morrison his father was a US Navy rear admiral upper half and Naval Aviator. His Mother Clara Clarke Morrison was a homemaker. Jim’s father when hearing about his musical career, wrote him a letter saying” Give up any idea of singing you have a complete lack of talent”. What a nasty man he was!. Had he took the time to show interest in his son maybe he would recognise what a genius he was. I think his mother was too scared to have an opinion. Andrew Les Morrison was Jim’s brother and Ann Robin was his sister. Jim had a good relationship with his sister, but she was upset when Jim had told people his family were dead and this really upset Ann.

After I married, we bought a used player piano, and I restored it and started listening to REALLY old songs and do have a site on RUclips. Oddly, I found I rather liked some of Jim Morrison's songs....this one and also "Riders on the Storm". He died long before his time...and I felt rather sad.
