lol. remember that time everyone was freaking out about the first "surfing 720" and it was like a 360, and now he's done a 720 and they're calling it a 540. no one will probably ever know when the 900 gets landed because they're going to call it like a "monster flip 180" or something.
that being said, this thing is not just a 720, that crazy thing he does, its super off axis at the top lol. sooooooo awesome :D

Curious why surfing can't adapt the trick names skating and snowboarding has already given them. This is a 720 in both those sports. Anything spun 540-720 degrees landing backwards is called a 720.
pierrewikberg a 720 would have been more of a flat spin, like how skating a mc twist and 540 are different

spindle flip sick name epic you didn't name it after yourself but watch it slow. it's a backhand rodeo on your forehand. i've only ever soon boogs do reverse rolls you do a fucking reverse rodeo. i've landed many a backhand rodeo and have started trying what feels to me to be a forehand rodeo. but never came close to anything like this shit. mad shit bro keep it up. is that the same surf you did the double air reverse? same break for sure
The difference with Matt is that he's doing airs on heavy sections.....as compared to wsl competitors....

No Jun. It's not an alley oop McTwist. McTwist is backside, Matt spins frontside.
It's not alley oop because alley oop means you spin the other direction than you're riding.
It's exactly this that's so dumb in surfing. Nobody can communicate. Not even Matt Meola, Julian Wilson, Dane Reynolds, Kelly Slater, John John or Albee Layer can tell their peers, friends, photographers, filmers, team managers, magazine editors etc what trick they did. The incompetence and ignorance related to the progression or even BASIC understanding on what surfers are doing is unmatched compared to other board sports who are doing the same tricks.
skating is way different an ally oop is a fucking chop hop in the pocket airs are above the lip frontside and back side is all on regular or goofey and going left or right is your option and no wave is the same unlike skating where you get to try over and over and over and over 1000 times tile you stick it yaaaaaa now get the camera out take a few cuts till it looks like this
