- Here I instruct a simple bojutsu based defense and counterattack. The purpose of this fighting drill is to learn the dynamics of parrying a straight thrust, regardless of what weapon is doing the thrust toward your midsection. We then want to have a natural overhead strike counter, and maintain composure on the outside of our opponent.

Impressive I just wish I could have had studied that type of thing when I was in my karate class it's actually pretty cool when you're loading stuff like that it's very amazing when you're learning things like that I just wish I could have stayed in my original karate class a long time ago sometimes you do need to learn how to use a weapon to defend yourself it's okay to use your arms your legs and your fists sometimes you got to arm yourself it's a situation calls for it 🥋🙏😌🙏🥋
when you do the push-block, the left hand is in a prime position to smash the opponent's forward hand, then follow up with with a left hand thrust to the ribs. not a bad beginners video though
Guess in application it's a simultanions strike to the temple/ preperation for short range eye poke ( f.ex.) and the time delaying "block" on-the-bo-only is just a training habbit for safty. It's kinda funny to stay with while using soft sticks.
Good instructional video, thanks for posting!
Pretty impressive when you use a bo staff in a real situation like this it could be very effective in the fight depending on your use the weapon is the body of one self and the mind I can use it I just wish I could have been doing this and my original karate class would have been better what the help better 🥋☯️🙏😌🙏☯️🥋
Very good
Very helpful. Thanks
right on thanks dude
So after a block, and the resulting counter attack- is the best target your opponent’s temple, neck or collarbone?
I’m new to the bo staff and would appreciate some defense pointers👍🏻
Most videos I find from 3 years ago has quality equal to trash. This got quality equal to 2018

I'm thinking about studding Bojutsu and becoming proficient in combat with a Bo Staff or Kun. My brother is superb with Nunchaku and I need a signature weapon to study.
