Did same and it didnt lighten much .so next day i used 100%bleach and a brush to spread it over thigh section. It lightened in 10 minutes. So I washed it. It removes entire blue color in section. I wanted a light section on thigh and rest same. Maybe 2/3 bleach or 3/4 might be less harsh
i did a denim shirt in a similar way a few years back turned out great..but i hung it on a hot sunny day ..and we dont have many of those in england... i also soaked a cotton hat in water and left it in a shed with the sun on it a few days and it faded ever so well..thanks for your refresher video...im goin to try a jacket now
This is great, although I think a couple things might help, I would hang them to spray them and let them sit (although the best would probably if you had mannequin bottom to put the pants onto then spray them) let them sit for 3 or 4 days, wash and dry and they’d probably come out pretty evenly lightened. I’m going to try it on a pair of darker jeans I have that I never wear because of the color. Thanks for being ballsy enough to try it for all of us
You wanna start off with clean fabric so everything lightens up as is. If you leave dirty, grime and dirt that has accumulated (even if you can't see it) will interfere and produce an uneven result, as it takes longer for the bleach to penetrate blocked fabrics. Of course none of this matters if you don't give a shit about that which there's nothing wrong with that, maybe even give it some character. But that's probably why she did

Maybe you could hang them up from the belt loops on a hanger so they would not be on one side during bleach time? I'm going to try this spray method.

love final result
thank you :) I'm having a lot of fun bleaching.. might bleach some more stuff soon
Don't understand why you prewashed them.
I think it’s to soften the fibers allowing the bleach to better soak in

it does help absorb the bleach and also has more faded edges of fade and not so defined..
where are the jeans from?? they look nice
they are from & other stories !
wait does that mean Im suposed to ket the bleach stay for 4 days and then wash it out?
No I think a few hours is fine, I just gave up for a while!
