Is this a ghost town?

  • We were pleasantly surprised to find a hidden "mini ghost town" on the Washington State Olympic peninsula after exploring an abandoned diner! Using satellite images we spotted what appeared to be an abandoned neighborhood after looking into exploring an abandoned diner. We were pleasantly surprised to find that it was a whole street of vacant 100+ year old homes! We took the
Cathlamet ferry from Fauntleroy to Southworh, just days later the same ferry crashed into the dock! luckily we weren't on that trip! we found rooms still full of belongings, old tube TVs, clothes, restaurant supplies, and other random detritus. The little town we found had a 1950s antique truck with a really cool canvas cover over the bed, several abandoned 100 year old homes, and a story waiting to be told!

Thanks for posting this video 🙂
Cool to see that block of old houses.
That restaurant you first went into was sad to see, it was a really nice old restaurant years ago. I remember eating there a few times probably 20 years ago, I had some good clam chowder there 👍 I kind of recall the owner fixed the place up and lived up stairs. Sad to see how people just trashed the place after it closed. Makes me wonder if the owner passed away and it fell into disrepair and got vandalized.

Nothing like a good bowl of clam chowder! Too bad that place didn't make it. Really looks like it would be a great to stop and I'm sure it had alot of business back in its day. I wonder if the houses up the way we're somehow related, or if the whole area was bought out for some reason? We probably should do a bit of research 😆

@@DecayWithUs I know if you go across the road on the water side there was a big mill building that once stood on the edge of the bay, the cool old structure got pulled down and removed about 15 years ago.
Some of the sawmill equipment is still on the bank of the bay 👍

Looks like there's a lot of interesting things to find around there. Might have to go back and do some more exploring!

It is truly infuriating to see how the worthless sector of our population destroy historical places. Thank you for documenting it before it's gone.

I wish people weren’t so trashy and didn’t destroy these beautiful places so we could share our locations but sadly we can’t

There’s an abandoned depot of some sort on the coast, I think around the Garibaldi or Wetseco area, cool buildings n stuff. On my list!😅

Dude, it’s wild how there’s a ferry, which I’m admittedly not familiar with. Here in the Willamette valley there’s a tiny one lol. But then, on location, there’s a highway nearby. You guys are killin me😆 but I do think think I found something cool off HWY6, so I will definitely let you know what’s good if anything 🙌🏻😅 That cafe/bar was wild. Pile of detritus😆😅 dang!

There's a pretty impressive ferry system up here. It's key if you're going to a specific island but we took that one for convenience 😆 it's about 30min vs an extra hour drive and you can just sit back and relax.
Awesome can't wait to see what you came up with off Hwy 6!

@@DecayWithUs Awesome! Yeah I’ve been up to the San Juan islands and port orchard etc way back in the day. Really gorgeous up there, also abandoned stuff on some of them I hear. Love it🔥 Will definitely keep you posted on what I find!

Yo you guys found your own ghost town!
I NEVER wear shorts when I go out urbexin'
But my buddy Joe would ALWAYS wear shorts, and he'd always come out the other side with his legs all cut & scraped & bleeding!
There was that time when we went to the Northern State Hospital up in Sedro-Wooley, hot summer day and I was wearing shorts but as soon as we got to the overgrown section of the old food prep area, I ran back to the car and changed in the parking lot. Joe laughed at me, but at the end of the day, he was once again the only one bleeding

I'm bleeding 100% of the time regardless 🤦‍♂️🤣🤣🤣

Alright. Have you been to the old duck lodge outside of Carlton Oregon? I’ll trade you😉😌 disclaimer, it’s cool, but not nearly as cool as this.

So if I look up federal land grabs from the past twenty years, and hit Google earth on some of them.. huh 🤔
