Okay, so the reason they did this, more than likely as its been complained about ad nauseum by the community, is before, when players were in direct, straight up one on one fire fights, much more often than not, due to the way the player models are inaccurately portrayed in the game, players were gunning other players down in heavy armor but most shots were hitting arm pits for full damage. This made the community believe armor wasn't working, that they shouldn't be getting 2-3 tapped by 556 fmj when wearing t6 (they're right, t6 would've blocked all damage if it actually hit the armor mesh) but due to the way the in game skeletons portray the player (arms sticking way out from the body and high up) players were actually getting struck in the armpits more than anywhere else for full damage. This new system means 1v1 fights when both players are aiming down sights and shooting, armpit damage is reduced and more accurately represented in these fights. I agree with your point made in the video; if there's no armor protecting there, then you should take full damage. However, my armpits in real life aren't on show when I'm in confrontations, my in game characters are though, and that shouldn't be a thing. Until they rework the skeletons to better represent IRL players actions, this is a good workaround where your armor feels like it is actually protecting your torso. Oh also they made a change in this last patch that said something about buffing lower tier helmets or something? Might wanna do some testing on that and see if anything is actually better or not
300 hrs on tabor so not the most in the world but I like the armor changes. Can you elaborate on HOW this system is worse and HOW it makes the game worse? Like, other than just stating that it does?
It’s worse bc me & so many others have used the pixel system for 7 wipes now but now this has changed yes u can say “ we can adapt” but it’s hard and also it’s harder to kill players with t6 t7

I think it’s like this for now so that casuals stand a chance from the Arm/Leg meta Timmies are using. I and my friend ran some silo in collector gear and we found that majority of bullet holes in our body were the legs and biceps, Timmies are purposely shooting there which other wise would have killed me before this armor update. From my standpoint, I think it’s a minor improvement to me just for the fact that I’m not dying to players wearing 4 armors down to what’s on me, so if they were to reverse this, they should slow pants armor, or have the armor already in the game to have a add on the protect thighs like the collector gear can but the thigh protection is the same as the armor you choose to wear.
It doesn’t protect legs or arms. Just the whole torso so it doesn’t affect that meta at all. It’s changed because kids were complaining that they kept dying

Especially when they keep changing crap it makes it impossible to know what’s worth using or not

Im not sure about this one, armor before felt weak. To the extent i just sold everything I had and just ran super light kits. This was the general opinion among my friends. It just wasnt fair. I used to run silo, wait for someone to find and kill krtek, sneak up on them and shoot them in the legs. Sure you could say its just a skill issue for them, but even in fair fights when you aim your entire upper torso is covered by your arms . So if you are using cover being naked is the same as being fully geared (unless you have an alytn facemask, but only no lifers have an abundance of that) it feels pointless, you know? I fully agree that the new system is unrealistic but id argue that dying because you get three fingers blown off is unrealistic too. Now the progression system feels better theres less bullshit. With all the falling through the floor, guns not shooting, and magazines falling out of your gun, i enjoy less bullshit
@beatsaber1235 That is not the problem. This system is better because, let's be honest, vr is janky as hell and can't properly portray the character. I've had people kill me when their gun wasn't even remotely pointed in my direction.

While they can work on other things, and plus to me, I'm not super serious about how the armor works. I feel like people who do run geared should have an advantage. I find the game extremely fun to play right now and do not care about armor rework right now. I just want more weapons to use and more maps.
If you want realism then you wouldn’t die from shots in the arm. Fact is you’ll never have tabor fully realistic cause then you won’t have new players join. If you want full realism join the military at that point. But waffles has to appeal to new players or they won’t get any. Then they won’t get any more money. Then they might start making guns and armor that’s only purchasable and that’s pay 2 win. Or you could deal with losing your meta
