The dealership just gave me a quote of $470 + tax and I was like "the devil is a liar," I'm a female but my step dad was a mechanic so I may not know my way all around a car but I do my research and if it's something I can do I will, if I wasn't afraid of my car falling on me I'll get under there and change my own oil instead of taking it to the dealership

Thank you for taking the time to post this video! I saved myself $325 by buying the bulbs off Amazon Prime and doing it myself like you did. My bulb was also broken as yours was. I removed the cover for my engine air filter to give myself a little extra room to work.

Thanks for the video. Some suggest disconnection the negative battery terminal first. Not sure if that is just a general precaution or because these are a high voltage discharge system.

Darren Duggal the halo light will require you to install complete new headlight assemblies. The bulls I replaced here are the HID bulbs that go inside the the halo assembly.

Can you just turn the bulb counterclockwise or do you have to you use a screwdriver/tool to release a catch somewhere? I tried to turn the bulb but, it doesn't want to move. I'm afraid to break it by using too much force.
@@kevinellis8967 So, I ended up removing my headlight assembly, and it was a broken wire. While out, I briefly looked and did not see a way to replace the bulb assembly. Of course, I would have put in extra effort to look further had the broken wire not been so obvious.
Dealership wants to charge me $300 for the bulb and $250 for labor. That’s for one bulb!!!! I think I’ll try this first. Ridiculous what Chevrolet wants to charge!

The item to turn is the white bracket. I thought it was the silver bulb housing, but it is not. It is the bracket you turn counter-clockwise from the rear of the bulb. Place the bracket onto thew new bulb at 180 degrees and then turn counter-clockwise and seat back into position, Turn the bracket clockwise until it snaps back on and the ends of the bracket are 180 degrees. I used a screwdriver to help turn it back on as in the video.
for those having a tough time, it's very stiff. Someone with stronger grip that can pull it out may be needed. It's as was shown in the video though. Pull out like a usb thumb drive.
I have LED Bulbs on mine and they work amazing. $60 for the pair, LASFIT is the brand and they're on Amazon as well. They come with a built-in fan to keep them cool.
LASFIT LEDs are not compatible with the stock HID headlights. LEDs will only work with the stock halogen headlights. Check which one you have to make sure they will fit.
Kellee Arrington there is a plastic grommet that hold the bulb in. At 2:56 you can see the grommet. It twists a 1/4 turn then you can pull the bulb out. Twist the grommet towards the outside of the car to remove the bulb.
If you want to upgrade these lights your not gonna be able to switch them over to led unless you take the factory ballasts out and put a after market hid kit system in I recommend paying the money and getting gtr lightings kit there the best I bought some for my 2016 Chevy Malibu premier and there great the only thing is that the factory projectors were not made for them so the beam patterns kinda weird but it looks great when you out in the highway.

Squeezing it and pulling with a fair bit of force doesn't budge the connector out

Whatever you do, don't go cheap or off brand. I bought some from xenondepot and burned out in less than 10 months. I just put in some Osram 7000K bulbs and they look good with the halos.

tflo73 It can be done on your own without removing the bumper for a fraction of the price. If your somewhat handy you will be ok.

That old bulb was probably touched leaving finger print behind then it overheated and burst.
