Yesterday the world was hit with the sad news that Olivia Newton John passed away after battling breast cancer for 30 years. She meant so much to so many people and has graced us all with her music throughout the years.
I recently discovered her music, so I had her fresh in my memory when I heard the sad news. This is a tribute to Olivia Newton John, AND a Reaction to the song: "Hopelessly devoted to you" from the movie Grease.

Nicely done Mr. G. If Elvis is the King, Olivia is the Queen. You look up the definition of 'beauty' in the dictionary and you'll find a picture of Olivia Newton-John. Beautiful inside and out... and what a voice. A flawless vocal performer. My two favorite songs of all time... 'Hopelessly Devoted'... and... 'I Honestly Love You'. Check out the performance of 'I Honestly Love You' live from the Sydney Opera House (It has 488k views as I write this, posted 13 years ago and has 'Vevo' in the left corner of the thumbnail). Concert is from 2006 I think. It is magical my friend. Thanks again for honoring a true star. RIP Olivia Newton-John

She was a beautiful woman with a beautiful voice and a beautiful nature. I miss her.
Olivia took part in the 1974 Eurovision Song Contest, held in Brighton in the United Kingdom. She finished 4th with the song Long Live Love, in the same Contest won by Swedish band ABBA with their song Waterloo.
The five became friends and also sang together in the Olivia Show TV Special with Andy Gibb & ABBA 1978.
She will be very missed.

Thankyou David! Olivia never asked ' Why is this happening to me?' Instead, she asked ' Why not me?'
She said the cancer had positive side to it cos' it made her appreciate the people and nature around more. She was determined to not let the disease control her. Her Spirituality was amazing! The heavens have acquired another bright star and l thank the Universe for gifting her to us in the first place. RIP Livvy! WE ALL HONESTLY LOVE YOU! ❤💐

ABBAMAN....ohh david thank you so mucg for this tribute to worldwide mega star olivia. i havent stopped crying since i heard the news and of course was bawling seeing your reaction. to one of her biggest hits. she had huge hits in the sevebties battling it out with abba on the charts in fact she had a specual for unicef which abba appeared on. you can see this on youtube. i collected her music since i was seventeen even before abba so her death has hit me very hard. you will enjoy exploring her music. she was magnificent and . a big loss for the music community. just glad to know she recorded so much music that lwill live long after we have gone only to meet her once again in the next life. god bless you david

Steven, I became a fan about 1973. Saw her in concert back in 1974. Always my favorite. She fought a valiant fight, and encouraged many others in their fight also.
@@dont.wilson2121 Oh my,i became a fan in '78/'79 cause i'm of a younger Gen.I guess she must have been a great live performer even in 1974 wasn't she?The astonishing thing is that she bravely suffered her disease... without complaining.She was even encouraging other people who suffered.I feel her as a family member who caressed my childhood with her music and feel both shattered and grateful for her offer.That 'breezy' angelic persona..

Agnetha and Frida who were friends payed tribute to her and wrote some very strong,emotional words about her loss in their account.Frida was even more close to her.When Abba released their VOYAGE album last November Olivia made a comment to her saying 'I'm so proud of you...How generous and humble both sides were.A perfect example for us.No big egos and stuff.Olivia was always our next door girl.You could ring the bell and say hello or join her in a down town bar to drink a beer and talk and enjoy her company.A kind beautiful soul.
This is such a great song. RIP to a beautiful, talented woman with a huge heart. The world is a better place for having her in it.
My heartfelt condolences go too Olivias husband and daughter her friends and loyal fans 😢 This lady was a truly beautiful and gracious and humble woman who devoted her life to her family career and fans and most important her wellness centre in Melbourne that has treated so many in their fight against this horrible illness including Olivia 🙏

The movie is from 1978. And she came in the past as a conrestent for the UK in 1974. Where she ended up on the fourth place. the year that ABBA won the contest with Waterloo

Some things you simply miss out on. I have seen Grease ONCE. But that was 15 years ago so I had trouble remembering it or any details.

Thank you for this! It's never too late to explore her talent. Not only was she a beautiful woman with an ethereal voice, she was a strong and amazing human being. ONJ was my very first celebrity crush, when I was 11 years old. Her voice has always made me feel so warm and happy inside, but now, it makes me feel so sad. Her music career goes back to the early 70s. She did country music and won Grammy's. She will forever be loved and missed. RIP beautiful 😇. 😢💔❤️

She had been fighting breast cancer then she was in remission for a couple of years but it caame back and went to her spine. She had been fighti g for 30 years on and off. Rip Oliva. I grew up listening to her songs. My fav is Let m e be there. Condolences to her family and friends.

@@GivenToe i know. I watch my sister go thru cancer. Her last days , she was in so much pain. she had so much morphine that it could kill an elephant ten times over. August 18th she, will be gone for 15 years. Cancer is so hard to watch when they are in there final days. so I think Even though Oliva wanted to live, She needed to let go.
