    Thanks again for this pattern & very detailed and informative tutorial in addition to the detailed written instructions! I just finished my first version of this with soft cowhide leather with upholstry woven fabric lining and an twill pocket with machine embroidery for the focal point. This had more stabilizer and foam and fleece than I've ever used on bags before, so a lot more build time, but worth it. And used the same webbing for the strap for the top connector, and a matching 1" version for the d-ring connector strap, and made use of a really thin lambskin for the binding! And very glad I took my time, rechecking this video often, so the first one does look good! Thanks again for sharing this great design!

    Love this tutorial! I'm just having problems with SVGs for Cricut. I've never figured out an easy way to sort the pieces from the instructions. I finally weeded out the extraneous stuff, checked the size using the one inch square, set the pieces on the page and cut; the pieces are much larger than the paper pattern (which I also checked for scale!) HELP! has any one else cut this on a Cricut?

    Hi Shannon! I live in Australia and I'm not sure if what sells as waterproof canvas here is what you guys use in the states (we can't get our hands on nearly as much cool fabric as you guys). So I wondered if you were able to do a good close up of your waterproof canvas in a video sometime, perhaps explaining its properties too, as I would love to figure out what you use and hence figure out the closest thing we might have here for bag binding/lining. Your bags and accompanying tutorials are incredible, btw, so thanks a million for sharing them with us!

    Great explanation of why you clip curves--for this zipper, but applies for anything sewn with curves! I just bought this pattern & my plan is to make it with leather & a few changes likely but basically the same construction & love your design & all the attention to detail in the design and instructions! But the slip pocket--why not sew the sides & bottom for it, radius corner, then turn & close the open top with the binding?

    • @knottedthreadsco
      @knottedthreadsco  9 месяцев назад

      Thank you!!
      A heat press and heavily spritzing the foam is my trick. It should be vinyl RS down and foam on top. Spritz the foam heavily once placed, top with Teflon sheet, and press for 10sec at a time. Use the highest heat your vinyl can handle (I tend to stick to a wool setting on mine). Repeat until fused, but be sure to let it cool in between spritzing/pressing. Foam is one that I found it truly matters to let it cool because the glue hardens as it cools and it appears as if it isn't fused while it's still hot/warm. The pressure of a heat press is important, but you can still get the same results with an iron. Just takes longer and is less consistent. I hope that helps!

    Can you tell me which stitch length you use on your Juki LS 1341 when you put binding on? They look very short.
    And do you use 600D as WPC or a thinner 400D. It is very thick when the bag is finished.

    • @knottedthreadsco
      @knottedthreadsco  8 месяцев назад

      On my 1341: Baste = 6, Attaching the binding = 4, Topstitching the binding = 5. I'm using 600D. It is a firm binding, but that's great for the bag structure. I only use my WPC method for WPC, so it should be 3 layers of binding. :)
