Do those States who do not invest in public defenders or lawyers have private for profit prisons ?
Maybe this is just basically a system for funneling public money for personal gain ?
Policymakers who are underfunding one area of the legal system, public defenders to create more $$ for private industry in another area, as more bodies kept in cells paid for by taxpayers.
How many of their governing Officials or family members in these States have investments in the private for profit incarceration industries?
I mean that's just something to ask questions about or investigate isn't it?
I find that there are always reasons why places are governed like they are.
