Saw the film last night and absolutely loved it! Such an uplifting and heartwarming story with a beautiful soundtrack. Timothee did a phenomenal job as Wonka!
This is the first film i've fallen in love with since Spider man Far From Home, loved every minute. Had to see it twice in the cinema, and would go for a 3rd viewing if I had the free time for it. The title of your video sums up one of the big reasons why, Wonka's delightful and inspiring positivity!! 😀
I loved the movie- I agree with all your points, except I really DID love the songs. A World of Your Own is an absolute banger, You've Never Had Chocolate Like This and Hateful of Dreams are also great and I've been listening to them here on RUclips. Yes, this movie is amazing, everything a Disney movie should be but isn't these days. It captured that magic and I'm buying it on DVD first thing I see.
I don't really think Wonka serves as a prequel to Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (1971) despite the number of references and nods. The 1971 movie presents us a Willy Wonka who's displeased with the presence of other adults or even kids in his factory and it tries to root his physics-defying shenanigans in science. Wonka, on the other, presents us a much more optimistic and friendly Willy Wonka and makes his shenanigans more magical.
I think ur mistaken willy wonka in the original film does still come off as quite friendly despite being rich and having a hard time when he was young and poor. so there are this is a prequel to the original film. plus in the original film he does seem to come across as friendly so it makes sense he would also be friendly as a youngster. the only characters who aren't friendly at all are the chocolate cartel.

I truly enjoyed this movie. I left the theater singing the songs from the movie. Delightful. Clean family show.
