    Ordered mine tonight. Can’t wait. Think it’s awesome how it comes with so much stuff. My 2nd vocal condenser since the early 2000’s. My first was an Audio Technica. Still have that one too.

    hii, im wondering then if the only way to hear the audio is through the XLR menthod then? since it doesn’t have a headphone jack?

      Nope i did putchase this mic, and using the speaker/headphones plugged directly into ur pc u can hear yourself easily. And the latency is also pretty low in the DAW imo.

    Wait so if I wanted to record on computer, I don't need to get something like a Focusrite Scarlett with it? Is it really the same quality via USB? or are there some drawbacks? Adobe Audition is good choice to record?

    • @rodemic
      @rodemic  9 месяцев назад +1

      Hey there @jkuzel, the short answer is no- if you want to create high quality recordings over USB with this mic, you won't need an interface. However, there are some uses of an interface that could be helpful, like mixing your mic with other mics in a mixer, or if you'd prefer to set your gain using a physical dial. It's up to you really!

      Hey there, sounds like a great setup! If you're getting low volume, we'd recommend turning the gain up on your mic. For more info check the user guide here: rode.com/en/user-guides/nt1-5th-generation

    Hi. Thanks for the video. If working within a studio on content that will be mixed in post (recorded one track at a time), are there reasons to use XLR over USB?

    • @rodemic
      @rodemic  5 месяцев назад

      Hey there, it really depends on what your use case is, but in terms of the sound you'll get in a DAW, the result is exactly the same.

  • @novaflowproductions

    So technically we can use this as a boom mic too? If so i might have to try one of these i have the original NT1

    • @rodemic
      @rodemic  9 месяцев назад +2

      Hey there, it depends on how you'd like to use the device, but the NT1 5th Gen will work great for capuring vocals and instruments. If you're looking for a dedicated boom mic for film shoots and portable recordings we'd recommend something more like the NTG3 or VideoMic NTG.

    xlr stands out especially with very long cables where there's a lot of em interferences to cancel out or with a pc having noisy USB ports. there's also the 48v phantom power supply for clean current. My gpu creates a lot of noise on the USB ports that can be heard in the recordings. So xlr is the only way to go for me.

    Can you connect this mic to a standard chrome laptop?

    • @rodemic
      @rodemic  6 месяцев назад

      Hey there! We're not sure what you mean by a Chrome laptop, but if you're asking if this device works with Chromebook devices, yes, it does! Just note that RØDE Central only works on iOS, Android, Windows, and macOS at this time, not Chrome OS. However, RØDE Central isn't necessary to use your microphone, it just helps update your firmware and change your settings.

    i just got mine and it sound so bad, im using a different usb c to usb cable cause my pc only uses usb, so idk if that’s the problem but the mic sounds horrible on my pc

    • @rodemic
      @rodemic  9 месяцев назад

      Hey there, it definitely shouldn't sound like that! Send a message to our support team (rode.com/en/support/contact) with all the relevant details about your setup and they'll be able to help you.
      The USB cable is unlikely to causing you audio quality issues, but we do recommend using an SC18 cable if your cable only uses USB-A ports.

    I recorded a podcast with this microphone, but hard consonants (Sşjz) are heard annoyingly on mobile devices. I would like to know what kind of EQ I should use for this. An instructional video wouldn't be bad.

    • @rodemic
      @rodemic  4 месяца назад +1

      Hey there, sorry to hear that issue impacted your recording! It sounds like you would need some sort of EQ or a "de-esser" effect to turn down these hard consonant sounds. Usually they are concentrated around a certain frequency that you can listen and find with an EQ or de-esser effect. There isn't one of these effects found on the NT1 5th Generation, but it can be found on our RØDECaster Duo, Streamer X and RØDECaster Pro II devices. You would also be able to do this in a DAW or audio processing platform of your choice as well.

    I have the `rode NT-1000 It was released in 2001. Is the NT1 a good upgrade as I feel the 1000 is still packing a punch.

    • @rodemic
      @rodemic  8 месяцев назад

      Hey Elzy! Great to hear you're still going strong with your NT-1000. The fact is, if you still love the sound you're getting from that mic, there's no need to change over to a newer model! This mic does have some new features, like the ability to record using USB in 32-bit float, so if those features are helpful it might be worthwhile.

    • @elzycollins
      @elzycollins 8 месяцев назад

      @rodemic I use logic Pro x and I don't think it supports 32 bit float. I really like the idea of moving back to usb plug in so I might find a different daw that supports. The nt 1000 is still a great mic but I fancy a switch up :😜

    What is the best micr for soprano studio

    • @rodemic
      @rodemic  6 месяцев назад

      Probably the NT1 Signature Series or the NT1 5th Generation. They're our latest and greatest studio microphones, and the only difference between them is that the NT1 Signature Series only offers XLR mode whereas the NT1 5th Generation will work in USB mode and XLR mode.

    • @rodemic
      @rodemic  5 месяцев назад

      Hi @becksuses, if you're asking what the difference is between the NT1-A and the NT1 5th Generation? If that's what you're asking, ultimately, these are both legendary large diaphram condenser microphones. The NT1-A is known for a more crisp sound, whereas some may describe the NT1 5th Generation as slightly more silky and smooth. You can even listen to some comparisons online to decide for yourself.
