In an apartment I had on East 10th Street, over by Avenue A in NYC, there was one window that was painted black, that opened out onto an airshaft. Thing had been stuck shut for decades probably. A family of pigeons had a nest right outside of it. I was careful not to disturb them. I could tell they were totally into having their nest hidden. But I peeked at them from time-to-time thru a tiny scrape in the paint. I got to see several generations of pigeons grow from eggs to adulthood & fly away. I love pigeons. And dandelions. And The Tree of Heaven (aka Ailanthus altissima). They'll grow and thrive in even the lousiest places.
I rescued a baby pigeon and have him/her watch this video, along with some other videos of pigeons doing stuff. He/she seems to like this one the most.

Can be mistaken, but aren't both of those are male pigeons? At least, both have more or less equally visible shiny thing on their necks, females usually have much less of it (though I'm no expert here). I've seen male pigeons following female ones in same way. If that's true, this may be an interesting example of gay pigeon couple. :)
