- [ORIGINAL VIDEO] During a fortunate opportunity as part of a research team studying population ecology of Weddell seals in the Antarctic, Jessica Farrer and myself were able to record this video of one of the seal pups, recently weaned by its mother and on its own to learn how to survive. A pup must first get in the water to be successful as a seal! For more information on the ongoing long-term research, check out the project's website: www.weddellsealscience.com

Wow, this seal tried everything; crying, grunting, random gesticulations, flatulates, pretending to sleep, and of course almost throwing up. Pretty much every time we try to give our kids a bath.

Just like the Little Mermaid 😂Actually what's hilarious is it's thought that certain "mermaid" sightings and accounts by sailors were probably just seals. Also in Celtic folklore there's a creature known as a Selkie, a seal that can take off it's skin to become a human and vice versa. Considering the strange almost human-sounding sounds it makes I'm starting to see why lol.
@PiePierrot there's also a kelpie in Scottish folklore (Celtic) that somewhat resembles an equatic horse. Legend has it that the Loch Ness monster is one of these cryptids. I could talk for hours about ghosts and urban legends so I must stop 😅.

@PiePierrot Yeah, ghosts a definitely real. Not sure about cryptids. We lived in a house once that was haunted. It was pretty much a poltergeist. It was that bad. That's why I'd put my last penny on it that ghosts are real. The rest like cryptids i just dont know.
