It is impressive to watch these planters. If you watch part one near the very begging you can see the 1038 pull up pause and drop the row units and speed off. It was neat as I filmed that clip from An XUV trying to keep up with it.
Now that is what we're talking about. Getting the work done!!! Roll over thousands of acres, lickety split. We need to seed cereal grains at 10 mph. Case IH new disc air seeder is right there, applying uniform pressure, to help maintain uniform seed depth!!! Welker Farms was demoing a nice rig this Spring!!! Say bigtractor, hop on a plane to Great Falls MT. Drive on up to Shelby, it's just an hour if you hammer down. They would love to see you.

Nice video! Huge difference between the 9800 and my original white 4 row, which I thought did a good job, my how things have changed. Use a green one now, here in central NY could never go that fast, any rocks smaller than a baseball we consider soil! Hahaha anyway you and Mike Less have the best videos Thanks for sharing with us old farmers!
The more dust the better!!! Excellent, you all know soo much about tractors and agriculture equipment... The soil for you is just DIRT, nothing else...
Cedric Köster; " The soil for you is just DIRT," Are you nuts? The soil is a farmer's livelihood, they groom it, they baby it, they do all they can to preserve it. They try to prevent compaction. They're concerned with soil structure, chemical composition, nutrient balance, moisture retention, and erosion. Soil science is a huge field covering areas such as pedology (formation, chemistry, morphology and classification of soil) and edaphology (influence of soil on organisms, especially plants). Look up the Soil Science Society of America and see if it's just dirt. Most state universities have agronomy departments that help the farmer to care for and improve their soils through crop selection and rotation, , improved cultivation methods, and proper application of fertilizer, pesticides and herbicides. The use, preservation and improvement of soil is a multi billion dollar industry. It isn't just dirt.
Back in the day when fields out west were set up, measured in Rods. A Rod is 16 1/2 feet. A 20 Rod width is 330 feet. So in 1/2 mile wide ground, makes 8 strips. 4 cropped, 4 summerfallow. The ideal implement width would be 83 feet. Making 4 passes, finishing on the same end you started. Wow, at 10 mph, you could seed 80 acres, 2 fields in less than 1 hour. Seed all 160 acres in 2 hours, ideally. Roll over a section, 640 acres in 8 hours. Git er done.
Wow that’s impressive to double the speed from 5 miles an hour to 10 deafly makes sense to have one of those if you can afford it for your farm since the weather patterns around the world seem to be changing
dealer support means a lot to me so far with four agco pieces of ag equipment that has not been good for me,john deere is so much better for us on our farm.
they have priced all that equipment right out of the reach of any normal farmer, it's sad to think what's to become of agriculture. that field isn't wet, in fact it looks over worked. it is so dry here some are not even planting, going on 3 years of devastating drought and the driest spring I've ever seen, we are begging, crying, praying for moisture
oh of course, and when the price of grain drops like a rock, like it has, and there's such a severe drought that nothing grows, like we have, and no matter what you do you're losing $1/acre that's totally out of your control then how many acres do you need to have just to keep the lights on
Here in Ontario, Canada there is nothing planted yet because we’ve had nothing but rain for a month. The forecast looks like we won’t be in the field for another two weeks.
oh wow, I almost can't believe it , please send some of it here as it is so very dry here there are people that aren't planting ~ the drought is so severe and going on the 3rd year now and worse each year, the leaves are not out yet ...nothing is growing, no grass for the cattle, no lawn, big drought cracks in the ground all over that I've never before seen in spring as spring is usually the wettest time of year due to snow melt, well not this year

So $428 000 for the row crop 8400R and $386 000 for the articulating 9420R why is it so out of wack? To me,it's impractical to keep going up in hp.on a row crop model, the problem is that most of your weight is located in the rear end,on a articulated tractor, the weight is much more evenly distributed between front and rear and makes much better traction and use of the same amount of power and can pull much larger implements.
You need the soil to be dry for the seed to go in. If it’s muddy it’s like putting a seed in a clay pot. The roots will not be able to expand past the hard trench it was set in. All plants need sun to grow after that.

Thank you Doug. It took a few days to make.
Those challenger tractors have came a long way and are so versatile because of the high hp 👍
German tech finally landed in America. Fendt Vario has been dominating Europe for a good 15 years and its amazing honestly.

Dealer support is key.
nice machinery, this challengers looks like fendt, thumb up & greetings
It is a yellow Fendt.
Insane! I also excepted him to brake at the headlands.
On one headland turn the tractor is squaring off the field corner so it is full speed to the edge but the tractor does slow to make the turn.
cool video as always. why do big planters have 2 seed tanks instead of 1 large tank.
I noticed the front coulter disk weren't down In the sand fields. Are they only used for no till applications?
They are used in no till and conservation tillage conditions. The sand has no residue to clear for the seed.

Only liquid from the factory.

What about the Claas xerion series to be compared with?
Nice video! Does this tractor turn well when set up at 60 inches for row crop?
Yes it has a good turning radios.
Both of those white planters are hitched by the 3 pt? And not the draw bar?
Who makes the Challenger articulated tractor and where is it made? Thanks
AGCO produces the MT900 4wd at its factory in Jackson, MN
How did you find such a dry place in a Midwestern state this year?
There are dry spots out there. I hope sunshine because more common to help all the farm’s out there that need to plant.
Where are the WHITE PLANTERSs built?
I think Hesston, KS. I need to confirm that.
European tire setups jus look waaay better than those American sawblades.
It all depends on the region and type of use.
Row crop duels are better
@@aaronfogg302 why should they be better?

Yes. A farm has to run to its conditions. The 24 row in this video is running on sandy soil no no stone worries.
Challenger is stepping up their game, thanks to agco. I want one lol
How much hp were the jd’s you compared them with?
AGCO makes some sold machines. The 8R is 400 hp and the 9R is 420 hp.
Build by Fendt in Germany, Bavaria, Marktoberdorf
Yes Fendt and Challenger are both AGCO products.

That is a good question. I am going to say 21 acres an hour if everything is going well.
