Why do DC films have such consistently bad CG and green screen? It's like all their directors don't have a fundamental grasp of what looks presentable and what doesn't. Every green screen shot looks like they dropped a live actor in a video game. Pro tip: shoot every shot that's supposed to take place outdoors in the film on a green screen set outdoors because it's not possible to recreate such lighting effectively indoors w/o it looking artificial. This is something even big-screen directors like JJ Abrams have spoken about. Also, adopt the mindset of digital minimalism where practical effects and real-world set locations take precedence and are used whenever possible. Only using CG where it's absolutely necessary. More Chris Nolan than Zach Snyder. Lastly, The Mandolorian production has developed a new in-screen set projection system that will virtually eliminate the need for green screen altogether. Check it out and start using it.
