      @@AustrianSailingFederation That would be great!!
      Still new to the Nacra 17 (not racing though, just having a blast on the water) and no clue about the foils settings so would be great to get his advices!!

      Hey @@davincifpv3983 - sorry it took us a little bit to get an answer on that, Thomas is currently in full preparation for the olympics but here is his answer:
      "Your foil set up depends on the wind and wave conditions you are facing. It also depends if you go up- or downwind.
      For the beginning, just try not to put too much lift on your rudders. More in light and less in stronger wind.
      For the downwind you can play synchronised with your main foils, should be the same for windward and leeward.
      Put less in the beginning. If u feel safe and you want to have the boat more flying put more. If the boat starts to feel too aggressive and you crew is almost on the very front of your bow, go for less lift.
      Upwind foiling works similar! All the best Tom."

    Hey what weight and age do you recommend for the nacra 17

    • @mgmurray100
      @mgmurray100 5 лет назад +3

      I am 58, both sailors are 300 pounds total on my 19 foot Bimmare javalin. A little less crew weight on the n17.

      Hey there :)! We asked the Olympic medalist Thomas Zajac to give you the best advice. According to him, there is no age limit, it's more the experience which is the key factor. If you feel comfortable on the nacra, give it a go! About the weight, he recommends a team weight of 135-145 kg in total.
      Hope this helps you. Let us know if you need anything else :).
