Correct: And Thank You very much for that Info &"Mini" History lesson: I found out before I finished my Queen & her Best Horses Tribute Video, that Glendenning called this & many Classics during that era before Tony Cooke came in: Shortly afterward, it appears, upon being hired, PETER BROMLEY was the long - standing BBC Radio fixture, w/ O' Sulllevan briefly before Sir transitioned to TV: Speaking of which, Cooke is highly underrated; his calls w/ NIJINSKY, MILL REEF, & other
notables, were fantastic, & I rank him equally w/ Sir Peter O' : And BROMLEY's Derby calls in 1979 & 81 w/ TROY & SHERGAR were masterpieces as well, w/ lines like " TROY is cutting them down to size" , & "There's only 1 horse in it , you need a TELESCOPE to SEE THE REST", when SHERGAR kept drawing away.. This is CS from the US saying, all these guys are Announcing legends

Crepello was a top class racehorse who, unfortunately had very suspect legs. He was certainly the best horse in Europe in 1957, as Ballymoss's victory in that year's Arc proved.

CS from the US w/ a QUESTION: Any Intel on the Presenter / Narrator & Race Callers for these historic races? I know Tony Cooke was the 1st ITV Announcer & the "Two Peters", O' Sullevan & Bromley were coming up through BBC Radio before the Sir transitioned to Television

I believe that Raymond Glendenning was the commentator in this particular Derby. You are correct that Tony Cooke was the ITV race commentator, assisted by John Rickman and Peter Moore. Later Ken Butler and John Oaksey joined the ITV racing team. For the BBC Peter O'Sullevan was the race commentator with, Clive Graham as paddock commentator. Michael Seth- Smith and Peter Montague- Evans assisted with the race commentaries from time to time. Later Julian Wilson was also part of the commentary team. Peter Bromley was primarily involved with the radio race commentaries. Hope all that information helps.
