In my opinion he is, sometimes it`s just too annoying to dodge certain enemies attacks, so easier to have Zhongli to protect you + he shreds resistances on enemies which allows you to deal more damage!
It's better to use archaic petra for zhongli
I feel like Alhaitham is better for free to play players but Neuvi def deals more damage
