i think it’s safe to create a follow up video to your “are catalysts the worst weapon type?” video, considering that modern day catalyst users have been much smoother and there are now plentiful meta catalyst users nowadays
2 of the top 5 5* characters are catalysts. Then there are kokomi,baizhu,xianyun,yae miko and sucrose as well.

Its just because most new catalysts users dont actually use the standard catalyst normal attack like wrio's NA or how neuvillette only uses charged attack

@@ATMEIDAREYAIDOUBLEDAREYA They stand still when attacking and have permanent elemental infusions so they can get stone walled by the right enemy (Wanderer vs Anemo Slime for example).
Those are the common arguments I’ve heard.
nahhhh claymores exist, even when we're taking their attack animation and clunkiness aside, catalysts has a loads ton more meta relevant unit in the game as of now (Nahida, Neuvy, Baizhu, Yae, etc), meanwhile the only meta claymore char you can argue as of now is Navia (who's damage majority comes from skill and not normal attacks) and MAYBE Diluc if you wanna cope Xianyun's plunge attack that hard, everyone else claymore is either niche or mehhh
He also has one of the best signature weapon damage upgrades. The guy is built to be a main character.

@@beaniemave Have you seen Neuvillette's f2p and low spender builds? Having a high percentage increase to a character with their weapon is only bad if that increase is the barrier to being viable, but when a character is as powerful as him and easily wipes content on low commitment builds, I think it's a different story.
@@beaniemave Yet with proto amber he is an overall better dps than most in terms of consistency and QoL. Neuvillette is a whole gourmet cake and Tome and C1 are just the icing and cherry on top.

you forgot how his shields can penetrate through wooden shields. which is the most annoying type of enemy shield in the game. he’s too broken.
Not only that, learned this abyss he can also do the same for the large metal shield holding knight mobs as well

@treasure9342 his international is still as strong as ever(almost always in top 5 abyss team) and while he isn't teamed with Nuviellete as frequently since furina release he's still respectably teamed with Nuvie in abyss(around 20-30 in abyss team ranking)
He’s also really good at dealing with shields and even completely ignores them in a few cases like for mitachurls.
Can attest to this - I wasn't sure he'd be able to take down Abyss mages' shield enough (obviously can't with the hydro abyss mage's bubble), but all the others, his charged attack just keeps going until the shield breaks and the mages die on impact. Same with the ruin graders and guards - despite not weakening them first with my bow characters as I used to do. He just... charges right through.

But I think, Neuvi is also in sync with his lore. Not much of a team player, lone, super powerful dragon, seemingly disconnected from its world while also solving all of its issues like a godly creature should... Awesome.
I love it when we get lore-accurate, plot-important strong characters that are not archons. His downsides aren't even critical; he's strong without Tome and can float far away enough to avoid attacks and allow the player to manually control him. He can't use NA-dependent off-field damage dealers but we have so many units to choose from anyway and doesn't make him so niche that he's dependent on specific supports

If Archons are Greek Gods, then the Sovereigns are the primordial Titans. I do think there's a market for playable Sovereigns and they'll be a playable niche in hypercarries.
I can see it happening... also if you notice all the archons are top tier supports (yes raiden is a support. she is a walking powerbank. it just so happens that she hits hard). I would not be surprised if they make sovereigns the top carry of each element... cant wait for what they plan to do with dvalin and azhdaha.
Pretty much, but imo the gods (the major Olympians, at least) are stronger than the titans, whereas the sovereigns are strongly implied to be stronger than their successor archons. Gods fear the primordial beings tho, like Gaia, Nyx, etc. Hoping for more info on The Primordial One/its four shades

@@YukiZero I'm pretty sure Dvalin and Azhdaha are just dragons, not the Sovereigns. I think the only other confirmed sovereign we've met is the Dendro one, Apep, during Nahida's second character quest.
I always see people collecting archons or harbingers, and I didn't get to collet either of those, so if that actually becomes a trend, it will be my thing, i absolutly love neuvillete and if i can have every dragon, i will
The thing is he's not only powerful but also really f2p for beginners since everyone can get the 4 start Amber and you only need hp stats and he's ready to use
I'd actually beg to differ. He isn't very f2p friendly, depending on what your goal is! (Important distinction)
What I mean is this, can you clear abyss with prototype amber at c0, yes of course and if that is your goal then yes he's very strong.
If your goal is to pseudo speedrun or just be as strong as possible, then he simply is not f2p friendly, the difference in his f2p weapon and gacha is huge like one of the largest in the game. His c1 means you no longer need to compromise furina or passive.
For example an end game hu Tao c0 with dragons bane will in single/multi target scenarios almost always be faster. However in aoe and if you only want to reach the 36* threshold then a c0 f2p Neuvilette is probably less artifact reliant.
Last note, you still 100% want crit not just hp.
@Roinur never even thought about how expensive it is to reach his ceiling damage your rigth on that good point. But I think your selling him a bit short on because in my experience he does a quite a bit better than my hu tao in mutlitarget situations with them being both c0 and him being on pamber with hu tao being r5 dbane. And that is with my girl being in the top 1% MH/dbane holding hu tao on akasha.cv so im confident thats touching endgame level atleast
@@agiant5715I meant more hsr type multi like 1-3 enemies, but I can totally see Neuvilette out damaging her if you line the enemies up, after all alot of hu tao team dmg is single target oriented off field dps.
And don't get me wrong Neuvilette is one of the best DPS in the game but he simply isn't this "best in all categories" type char. He's just stupidly consistent which is very good for 95% of the game/players, but not optimal if you want to reach the utmost limit in a certain field.

The only time you really want a specialist unit is when you've been ar 60 for years and have nothing better to do than to completely overkill abyss.

I don't know how there will ever be a better carry than Neuvillette, the way his kit function make it so that he is the strongest in AOE, one of the best in ST while also having range and mobility. It's very easy to deal his maximum damage output, on the other hand most carries can be limited by skill issue, bosses moving, stagger ... Did I mention that he is pretty immortal with his 40K HP and insane self heal?
All those solo neuvillette abyss clear memes really show how a complete carry he is. There are whole "meta" teams that dont cover as many roles as he does alone
Craziest part is that he can still get much stronger, all he’s waiting for is a hp buffer and maybe a hydro specific support like Faruzan/Gorou/Sara if Hoyo decides to keep releasing element specific supports

I didn’t like using hydro characters, but I loved how well designed the fontaine characters were. His character and his ability to heal himself were what really appealed to me (especially his design!).
He is worthy to be the most powerful Hydro character ever both in the lore and the game
Probably him, furina and nahida on gameplay wise are the strongest characters in game
I was saving my pulls for Wriothesley since I loved his design and playstyle, but then saw Neuvillettes role in the story and thought "hey this guy seems great, but if I blow my 50/50 I might not get Rizzly". Ended up pulling Neuvillette and his weapon and never looked back, he's carried my teams to greatness the moment I got him. I ended up getting Wrio anyway, just without his weapon like I wanted, but honestly I couldn't be happier
I pulled for him spontaneously without planning anything for him. I never regretted it coz holy ahhh. He’s so good.

One of the characters who are worthy to power creep others. He has kit fit for his title, the Hydro Dragon Sovereign which is the apex of the Hydro element
For me, Layla is the best shielder for Neuvillette. The consistent uptime of her freeze + shield combo with Neuvillette makes him take little to no damage at all.

I've been playing since the later half of 4.0 and Neuvillete was and is the best choice I made as a beginner.

And he’ll be the most powerful for a while. I can only see the Pyro Archon or Xbalanque rivaling him in gameplay in Natlan
I want and believe with what we know about the Sovereigns that they are on top of the Archons when their original power is unlocked.
I think it makes sense for Neuvi to be a complete unit by itself. Self buff, scale with HP and can self heal and he takes less damage during hyperbeam. At C1 you have a permanent 10% extra damage, can't be interrupted and now your Furina x Neuvillette team is more potent.
When it comes to clearing the abyss with ease either with a proper team or solo, he is perfect for it.
Neuv provides the most value of all characters currently that can play an on-field role.
I totally agree with your take on Neuvillette. I rolled for him because I loved his character design and I needed more Hydro characters to pick from. I haven't regretted getting him. He's been amazing for bosses, for random enemies (minus ones immune to Hydro), and just really fun to use overall. The only real thing I did before he came out was I grinded out a set of Marechaussee Hunter for him since I heard it was going to be good for him. I really like that I don't need C1 to make use of Neuvillette though. He's vulnerable to interruption without C1, but a shielder like Layla, Baizhu, or Zhongli can solve that problem. If you have C1, then you don't need the shielder and that opens you up to having an open third slot on your team that can assist with more Hydro reactions.
C1 actually reduces the amount of reactions you need to achieve 3 stacks of ‘Past Draconic Glories’ to 2, which would allow you to run double hydro

Neuvulette is the best choice I've ever made. I was saving for venti and 2 days before Neuvulettes banner ended, i decided to throw a few pulls on him. At first I regretted it, but now he's my favorite character, super strong, and is the reason i was able to 36 star abyss

1,000 % agree he single-handedly changed the way I played Genshin after his release and he shook up the meta by himself contrary to belief he did that.... Some of the content that was hard for me to clear was much easier to clear when Neuvilete came out and no it wasn't a skill issue and yes almost all of my characters are leveled and invested, he made a big difference on my account tbh imo
Same! Considering him alone turned my abyss experience from trying my hardest to get 4 stars in floor 12, to actually being able to max it without breaking a sweat speaks on how strong he is. Him and furina alone turned the meta upside down the same way a whole element did when dendro got released

MiHoYo did the playerbase dirty so many times, they had to provide a powerwasher to apologize.
But honestly, Neuvilette is, just as you said, basically a perfect character. For newcomers, he's a comfy hypercarry with low investment needs and high flexibility, meaning you can immediately build a team around him, even with the starting cast. And the further you go, he remains powerful as you improve your skills and understanding of the metagame.
If his playstyle wasn't so miserably boring and uninvolved to me, I would've pulled for him easily. Still, he's undeniably an easy recommendation for basically anyone.
Same case for me, like I only played a bit on trial and immediately thought ‘I’ll get bored of this in one patch.
Then more event came where he is usable for free. I already am so bored with him.

Have 93k primo saved + 65 fates but it’s for Someone with more engaging gameplay whom I don’t yet. Probably Columbina.
Furina quickly became my favorite character in Genshin with Neuvillette in the top 5. I am currently saving for him. I'd be fine with C0, but should I get lucky and get C1 will be all the more reason to use them together

the only reason I pulled for him is coz he's hot. The damage, his skills and how easy he is came as a surprise because I ignored spoilers. Now he's triple crowned, has his sig weap and he will soon get his C1.
after getting him and rizzley.... I never did abyss with a party again and everyone got benched lol
I just take him to Abyss with 3 other level 20 characters and he obliterates the abyss floor

seeing this makes me wonder if we're gonna get a what happened to Ayato Video. like during the 4.4 abyss unlike childe he didn't bounce back to the top 25 most used. like i thought he can still hold on even with neuvillette i wonder if he'll actually bounce back this patch. i'm a hydro collector because i use Hydro for whatever situation necessary i know it's not necessary to pull every hydro character in the game but i do like having alot for any situation. I still use Ayato from time to time, because other units are just felt better in alot of the teams, i mean that's probably the case with the whole Jack of all trades Master of none, Versatility and ease of use are nice but that's at the cost of Power, and i guess people like versatility but they also want power as well it's kinda like C0 Raiden but Raiden has more stuff in her kit.
when it comes to on field:
-Vape has Childe who has a ton Hydro app through his Skill and Riptides to help XL Vape, while also making up 40% to 50 or 60% damage contribution. and double swirling feels easier with him than Ayato since he doesn't need his burst to help double swirl.
-Neuvillette mostly beats him everywhere else
-Kokomi has Taser and Mono.
the place i think where he shines are Soup, and non hyperbloom centered dendro comps, but the problem is, some of those spots can be somewhat contentious with the fish.
now when it comes to off field: i think this is where i think people somewhat underestimated him since he has the biggest AoE when it comes to off field Hydro app since the rest have either very small AoE or very ST oriented, but i doubt he's still better than The Fish and the three XQs, the others provide more stuff though.
XQ has off field damage, App and pseudo shielding and mitigation.
Yelan has off field damage and a ramping buff.
Furina has higher personal even though she needs a healer, she her buffing is still really good since it also buffs the entire team.
also these three can make a really strong core. I.E Double Hydro
Kokomi can heal, Can hold TTDS to buff attack based units, and she can refresh her jellyfish
I lowkey believe he is way too overtuned: after you have him, unless there is a character that is inmune to hydro, every other main dps kind of loses to him, meaning that in the futute every single character that is a main dps will be compared to him, and most likely, be overshadowed by him.
Which is well deserved considering his lore and background in the story. The archons are good so as a Dragon Sovereign and canonically the most powerful Hydro wielder in the lore he deserves this
The goodthing there is nothing ingame hard enough to make those "powercrept" dpses unuseable like in other gacha. An ayato main can still smooth sail thou all the abyss and non hydro immue overworld content
Heck even mine is benched for a month because i was using him too much and wanted to have fun with my other characters

Going by your logic, what is even the point of other characters with less lore significance then? Should all of them come out with the most scuffed and unplayable kits? Then again, why isn’t the Traveler the most broken character in the entire game? And why are the funeral director, bazaar dancer and feeble scholar as strong as they are? Care to explain that?

They literally NEVER said ANYTHING about the less lore significant characters needing to be "scuffed" or "unplayable" just because of the fact that they're less important to the plot. It's no secret that all of the archons are the best in their class in terms of gameplay, so a Dragon Sovereign is bound to be stronger.
@@balllord8580 You’re literally plain wrong, archons are nowhere near to being «the best in their class». Venti has been outshined by Kazuha for ages, Zhongli has barely any teams where he isn’t a DPS loss, Raiden is a mediocre main DPS and a Kuki sidegrade in hyperbloom. Only Nahida can be called the best, and that’s it, that doesn’t make a trend. As for the scuffed part - that’s just common sense. If the guy implies that lore significance should be tied to gameplay, then it’s fair to assume that the other characters shouldn’t have a good gameplay whatsoever. Sure that’s far-fetched, but that’s one of the main points of that dumbass. The guy is literally making up excuses for the poor game balancing on the whim without any regard for the actual state of the game, nothing beyond that.
I mainly use neuvi in domains to farm friendship exp for my lvl 20 characters lol

my neuvillette is at c0 currently i run him in the abyss with furina just for the sake of making it easy on my self why playing , yes a dps loss compared to kazuha,fischl, zhongli variant but it's doesn't matter for me since he brute forces his way through everything
Truly a lore accurate character.
He's actually an F2P friendly character with the way he's easy to build, doesn't need a lot of investment and his teams can literally be anyone that provide some sort of field (except for physical but we don't talk about that element)
I thought I won't be pulling for Meta characters anymore, but after seeing Neuvillette's numbers I'm getting him and his weapon! Dude is Godzilla!
It's actually disgusting how good he is at C0, and unlike some other Fontaine 5 stars he doesnt feel incomplete without constellations

Sincewe know that vaporise is more potent if triggered by hydro, if we build a team that vaporises through hydro, hyperblooms AND burgeons, (I'm thinking about Nahida - Neuvillette - Raiden - Murata) we would have a team that can beat literally any enemy. With ease.
Oh yes. We just lack pyro off field options. Just give us one that isn't tied to burst.

We already have this team. Neuvilette, dehya, Nahida, Raiden. Dehya gives neuvilette 100% interrupt resistance while proccing burn for neuvilette to burn. You also get hbs from Raiden. This team won't have burgeons though because dehyas app is really slow here, mostly there to provide some pyro for burn reaction for neuv to vape.

A normal DPS has a team of three supports. Usually a sub DPS, a reaction enabler, and a sustain.
Neuvillette has a team of three cheerleaders, who apply their element once every 30 seconds, then get out of the way and let him handle everything else.

I got him at 1 pity when I came back to the game after years of not playing (I didnt play through the entirety Sumeru's original run)
I begrudgingly raised him even though I didnt feel like foraging for materials and, well... I wasn't disappointed lol
he's a great character and a nuke against anything that isn't hydro those are my two reasons lol
I used to cower in fear before the wenut and ruin serpent in the abyss, but neuv turns them into overworld enemies. I'm also c1r1 with triple crowned talents and hella investment, but even if he did half the damage he does, id still main him because of how fun it is to hydro pump everything off the face of the earth.

Now that I think about it, having a Pyro Neuvillette that scales off of attack sounds exactly like what Pyro Archon should be.
Maybe with some sort of counter attack mechanic along with it, like an exploding reactive armor, to counter close range enemies.
The drawback would be having no shields, heals or damage reduction on the armor, nor any HP or DEF scalings. Just straight up raw ATK scaling fire power. 🔥🔥🔥

@@Gnidel I was thinking about some support roles for the Pyro Archon, but I feel like she should at least have a strong on-field presence.
Every Archon seems to be focused on enhancing a certain aspect of gameplay:
Venti: Facilitating swirlable elements with RES shred and recovering energy.
Zhongli: Facilitates Protection via Shields Geo constructs and Crystallizing other elements.
Raiden: Facilitating Elemental Bursts by boosting damage and recovering energy.
Nahida: Facilitates Elemental Reactions with EM sharing and constant Dendro application.
Furina: Enables HP Drain/HP Recovery mechanics.
The Pyro Archon should either boost Normal/Charged/Plunging Attack DMG or Elemental Skill DMG which scale off of her ATK.
I also thought about her converting her ATK into CR (max 25%) and CDMG (max 50%) and applying it to the entire party. The CR and CMG have slightly less value than a CR/CDMG circlet (31%/63%), but can enable characters to build into other stats.
The Explosive Reactive Armor was a personal inspired by Sundowner from MGR. Him being a crazed warmonger and his theme “Red Sun” fit the Land of War and the Lady of Fire perfectly.

1) Xbalanque is the guy that introduces Neuvillette in his drip marketing in the Twitter/X post.... So I think, in order for someone to give such comments on Neuvillette, they also have to be somewhat powerful, Neuvillette also said that Natlan is nation of dragons, hence it's not a far fetched theory that this guy isn't the Pyro Sovereign himself! So, being a Pyro Sovereign, he gotta have as good of a kit as Neuvillette does right??
2) All Archons are known for their off-field supporting capabilities.... So similarly, I think Pyro Archon will also be a sub-dps or pure support or something like that..... Which is like Xiangling or Thoma....
Its too early to get confirmed leaks anyways, Natlan is atleast 5 months away.... So, this is just my theory, would be glad if it's true to the word, will be happy if it isn't either....
for me the c1 is already c0. a lot of the time u will encounter an enemy who has an elemental atk or they themself becomes the element themself if its not hydro then neuvi can trigger a reaction already. for me is overpower like he has 0 weakness while someone like ayato who isnt the strongest but has a balance kit.
His downsides have so many workarounds. Gets interrupted at C0? You can float far away enough from enemies to anticipate incoming attacks. Can't use NA-dependent sub-dps? We have a LOT of other 4* and 5* options and that'd mean you can run units like xingqiu or yelan on the other side. Unlike other damage dealers, he doesn't need niche supports, or even supports at all. He's a powerhouse on his own and a comfortable one at that. The self-battery and self-heal is insane, it's unbelievable. With C1 and Tome he becomes truly braindead to play
I pulled for him during his last rerun since I missed his initial run during my Genshin hiatus. He's easily my favorite character in the whole game by far because of his lore/design/personality, and it's just extra satisfying to see that he's an extremely meta unit too. Got him to C6R1 and don't regret it one bit. Even if having all of his constellations makes him even more stupidly busted (like... his C6 makes his charged attack last FOREVER + he just obliterates F12 of Abyss with ease) and some would say that it makes him more "boring" - him being my favorite character was worth the spoiling. 🐉💙💧
People play him because his gameplay difficulty is on actual Mickey Mouse mode, and his numbers are majorly overtuned, that’s the whole story.

It's hard to see a character knocking him or Furina out of their top 5 characters in the game slots. The ease of use + power of each makes them just insane characters, especially when you think about the kind of power we've been playing with up until this point.
I already have c2 furina, EM raiden and c2 nahida. If i manage to get him c1 r1 i will never have to pull for any characters again

Here's what I found. Nahida synergizes with every sumeru carry and zhongli synergises with every liyue carry to some extent
So I know that when Fontaine rolled around. I was gonna get the hydro archon and a Fontaine carry of choice to go with.
Also, wanderer doesn't synergise with nahida. Could this mean arlachino doesn't synergise with furina? Interesting to see how that unfolds
Arlecchino's kit has been leaked and it seems like she was designed to not work with furina because one of her passives makes it so that she cannot receive healing from other teamates when in combat. And with the way her kit works, you would lose damage even if you could be healed.
And that was enough to make me pull for him thankyou ❤

On another note, personally, I don't think he is overrated 'cause being able to self-sustain and deal good damage even if you don't give him the traditional buffer teammates just for the sake of buffing him is such a good thing. If evaluated like that, it's just facts
What makes him "overrated" is because other players (his extremist fans) tend to be SOO annoying and say everyone else not him is unusable or trash. It's like the old toxic Ganyu fans just switched over to Neuv mains. Even more so rn with Arle beta, when they aren't even the same element. So, while I do still recognize Neuv's pros and powerlevel, I can see why some would start to hate him and think him "overrated"
Neuvilette is awesome to play too - intuitive kit with a hydro cannon
His charged attack has power of Ayaka’s burst, except it isn’t on cooldown and doesn’t require 80 energy
I like the song choice. The Hydraean's Wrath is pretty awesome and I loved the boss fight against Leviathan. This is like the only time I recognized the song too
I've seen half-assed neuvi build with massive dmg
He is the most broken character released bar none. I have been able to solo one side of the abyss with C0 R1 Neuvilette every single abyss since he came out. Other people have also done such stuff with some other characters, but they have high investment, cons or play exceptionally. I don't do any of that and Neuvi still gets it done in like 2-3 tries max. He's broken no questions asked.
I need to correct one thing stated in the video. In order to max out his passive, Neuvillette needs three HYDRO reactions, meaning something along the lines of, Crystallize, Electro Charge, and Bloom,
Hyperbloom wouldn't count towards his buff total, so without C1, his personal damage takes a hit in Double Hydro teams. So basically, in order to maximize his DPS with Furina (the two have insane synergy), he needs C1.
Other than that, mostly agree!
Thats to maximize his damage, but Furina's damage boost is so high that you're getting a higher damage output running the two together than you would with a different element even without c1.
His C1 makes his personal damage goes up, hence why I picked it up but in truth, he really doesn't need it all. Or more precisely, his team doesn't need it considering the amount of already good selection of off-fielders in the game that synergizes well with his kit and element. You can literally slot in "bad" characters like Dehya and he will deal huge damage regardless. My favorite Neuvillette team ever since release has always been Nahida/any off field dendro, Kuki/Raiden, Dehya and Neuvillette. This team deals so much damage it's actually laughable
@@ChainsSSB Your statement is very much dependent on artifact quality. I've run some calcs, and there are very much Neuvillette Teams at C0 without Furina that can match or surpass the DPS. It's all about team building. But I wanted to mention it because in the video, he makes it appear as if Hyperbloom contributes to Neuvillette's Passive count. That's all.

@@aetherhae well obviously, I'm talking about how if you're putting a 3rd reaction on the team just for the sake of activating the 160% boost on him, then you should still be running Furina as you still get 125% from 2 reactions plus the 75% damage boost Furina gives without also factoring in the damage her skill provides.

You can even skip using a shielder on him at c0 if ur able to dodge the attacks, which is quite doable even in the abyss because his beam's range is amazing

Sadly he's pretty unwieldly tk use with Joystick so yeah, I barely ever have a need for a hydro main dps anyway after Furina came, she can be paired with Yelan/ Xinqiu for literally any team.
Neuvillete makes it easy to do commissions and domains so all my daily’s are done for the day, since I don’t like playing that much he makes it so easy to clear content then go with my day

You shouldn’t hope for powercreep because that renders older character redundant - and thus people’s time and money spent on them wasted.
Hope for Arce to take Pyro in a new and fun direction while still being as strong as Hu Tao so that players get variety in gameplay without sacrificing anything
Arlecchino will powercreep Hu Tao by a small margin.
But when Natlan comes, Murata, Capitano and Xbalanque will power creep Arlecchino

actually, he's too OP that I got bored playing him so he's been sitting in the benched.
I have him but I still hesitate to build him BECAUSE he is so op. It feels like I'd betray all the effort of the past 2 years building other good teams and characters, and they still aren't done yet.
I already had a similar experience with Raiden and I often find myself not using her despite having built her.
It just feels somewhat childish to me to celebrate victories achieved by easy to build single-nuke characters in contrast to teams with similar effects such as Nilou bloom - I need some of that complexity.
My "Neuvilette" is my C6 triple-crowned Noelle with stonetrasher, and no powercreep character would make me abandon her because I played and invested in her soo much alrdy.
One goodthing about the game having no endgame content yet is that your never gonna find yourself in a situation of only relaying on him. While he does make the game boring from how easy it becomes, there is nothing stopping u from benching him to have fun with noelle except a geo slime or something. I recommend building him for moments when u wanna speedrun some event fast cus your busy and only got a few mins to play for example

I have looked at father's kit, and I don't know if I should skip Neuvillette for her or just pull him.
You can always wait for the last week of Beta, she can still change a bunch until then. The then that, I'd say just go with who you like more in terms of design/animations and combat style. Most important thing is not who's more Meta but who you think you'll enjoy more.

The first rerun are usually just few patches away from the debut date. But of course, few patches mean half a year or a bit more. You can always wait for her trial before deciding.
I love Neuvilette's character, and his kit, visually, is cool as hell. I prefer Childe over him though - unfortunately I just find Neuvilette's playstyle incredibly uncompelling to play, it's just so boring. Not in the "he's so broken he makes things trivial" way, though that's probably also true, but in the "wow this gameplay is boring" kinda way. I think I feel about Neuvilette's kit the same way most people feel about charge attack bow characters.
My Childe does awesome to power him up in the team though
