I just purchased a Square precisely because it makes an excellent, budget priced, launch monitor. I'm not interested in playing simulated rounds. The fact that I don't have to pay a yearly subscription for the launch monitor software sealed the deal for me. I'm sure I'll play a few of the included 55 rounds of sim golf. But I know I won't be playing 55 sim rounds per year. So I'm quite happy to have that as a pay-as-you-go option, especially since it might take me 2 or 3 years to use all of the initial 55.
If they could put the club data as tiles on the same screen as the range/course that would be great. And/or the ability to have the club data info on a separate screen ie. the tv screen on the wall. That, and ability to use the open api to connect to GSPro. Sort those things out and I’d sell my SkyTrak and buy one. Am looking at ProTee VX at the moment, but this is amazing value to include that club data. How are they getting club data? Is it calc’d?
Living in the UK and working away if been waiting for a unit with a stick as most of us don't have room to swing a club let alone hit balls. I've had the r10 2 years and it's still boxed.
What do you guys think to this vs the MEVO +? I’m building a sim and have space for both, would rather spend as little as possible but open to the MEVO if the data is going to help me improve.
Great Video, thanks for that. You were using the iPad Version of the software, but on the website there is also a windows version available. Can you play the Golf Courses on that as well and does it support better graphics, widescreen etc as well?
This looks great for the price with side spin measurement and usable in small spaces. Regarding putting, I think you said below it has auto putt. If you used the putting feature, how far does the ball have to roll to be measured?
@@GolfSwingSystems Thanks for the reply. I also emailied the company and they said that once the ball goes past the monitor the ball should be detected. You think that it needs 6 feet?
Can I use a course to practise the same par 3 hole repeatedly (like on a range). e.g. will it give me a mulligan option so I can play it over and over?
Is there an "auto-putt" option if you don't want to putt at all? Do credits charge double if you play two people on a round? Would be curious to see thoughts on their balls vs. your daily every day ball.
And yes, you do get charged double if you play with 2 players... The credits are calculated as 1 credit per player per hole... so with 3 players playing 9 holes means 27 credits...
Great video, does the square have 1 camera or 2? Also I did think you left the putt short, it's great it picked it up accurately what a great piece of golf tech. Need a head to head with Trackman or GC3.
Appealing product but it makes no sense that the unit measures Club + Ball data but you cant even view your club data on the driving range/shot tracer mode
It is running on an iPad so the aspect ration goes funny. We could adjust that but we have 8 launch monitors running at any one time so in order to get you a video quickly, we need to sacrifice some screen space!
what i learned from buying the rapsodo. is that. i would never again buy a product with software as a service again, aka subscription. the device itself needs to have the basics built in to it. like all the telemetri it can measure should be free when you bought the unit. Having to pay for. spin numbers and other stuff is simply not worth it. I realise that third party apps could cost a subscription also the software that comes with the unit should be avaible on more than an ipad, and with good graphics. not 1980s graphics . btw. get a mike, the sound is very hard to listen to.
The Square doesnt have a traditional sub service. You get everything except courses included and you get 1000 credits included for the pay and play courses. IF you use them up you can buy more pay and play rounds!
@@jimginnyohio I'm using my phone.... Is there some kind of Bluetooth extender i can connect to my phone? Or do i need to use a computer to get the Rapsodo working without disconnecting. Thanks
you only pay to play sim golf no sub fees. you get 55 rounds with purchase. its side mounted ball and club data monitor for 1500 aud its a steal and lm buying one this week

Hi, thanks for sharing. Can the launch monitor used outdoor or only indoor? Thanks
@@PikeyScott does it have connection issues? My Rapsodo is a brick. It doesn't stay connected. Thanks
Sorry, cannot be used outdoors (direct sunlight can even damage the unit).. Connection seems flawless on all the reviews I have seen...
Is the swing stick any good
@@franktherookie6580 Thanks for heads up,. For me no outdoors use is a deal breaker.
Thanks for the review. It helped solidify my purchase. Can’t wait to try it!
Hope you enjoy it!

They use a reflective tape around the club shaft allowing for tracking in the same way other camera options work (GC3, Uneekor Eye Mini etc).
Holy poop balls man! Thanks for the straightforward explanation. I get it. I'll buy one. Full stop.
Thanks for the feedback! Enjoy your launch monitor!

Excellent video. When will you have comparison up against GC Quad or Trackman. If it gets within 5% variance of those units the it's a bargain.
Coming today at 2pm!
You should do a comparison to your full swing kit, would be a game changer and a test no one else on RUclips has done yet
Golficity have done one...
Great Video, thanks for that. You were using the iPad Version of the software, but on the website there is also a windows version available. Can you play the Golf Courses on that as well and does it support better graphics, widescreen etc as well?
It supports other aspect ratios but the graphics dont improve. They are all running through the same engine so graphics are the same.

We have found anything longer than 6ft is fine.

Agreed needs compared to other budget options!
Can I use a course to practise the same par 3 hole repeatedly (like on a range). e.g. will it give me a mulligan option so I can play it over and over?
You can but it is fiddly. You have to manually enable unlimited mulligans and then use a mulligan each time.
Did you try to mark other Balls with a black Pen to get better Spinrates?
No we only used the Square Golf Balls provided. Marker peens and sim screens dont mix!
Is there an "auto-putt" option if you don't want to putt at all?

It has 2 cameras and yes I know I left it short! 🤣
@@alexobrien5565 That's great for collecting Data.
The company that makes Square is the same company that makes exputt.. The use some of that technology, that why the putting sim is very good..
Got a question, what do u use the software on? iPad iPhone or laptop?
I use with a 12 year old laptop and it works PERFECT, very fast to show the graphics and data.
You can use it on a variety of devices but in this video it was on iPad.

Agreed that was our feedback!
@GolfSwingSystems theyve confirmed its going to be updated sometime November
Does it work with marked practice foam balls?
It is designed for use with real balls im afraid.
Club/ball data on the range. Price of the balls? Any Gspro connector would twarth their own business model so i doubt we would see that

Why is this £799 in the Uk and only $699 in the USA? Which at todays rate is only £530. I think this is a bit of a rip off for Uk customers?
Transport, Duty, VAT. Margin for fluctuations in exchange rates. Customers in the USA might also have to pay state tax on that.
@@VenatusUK So surely it should be more expensive to the USA than the UK. I believe that square golf are a UK based company?
How much for the extra credits once your first 1,000 run out?
$20 per 1000 credits is what I saw. So if I understood it - it's basically $20 for 55 rounds, whether you use them up in 3 months or 3 years.
They calculate 1 credit per hole per player...
So one sole round of 18 holes costs 18 credits...
Doesn’t work with GSPro though, right?
No GSpro, NO DEAL!
It is not officially supported yet but some other 3rd part connectors are in the works so GSPro wont be far behind!
