I recently went to a new local dealer for BYD in my city. This video doesn't do it justice, even tho it is a great video. Let me tell you, in person it is truly nice and impressive. The roomiest small car I've ever been in, everything feels higher quality than the price would make you think, and the interior design is just great, very modern, clean lines, feels futuristic. I actually went looking for the Dolphin, but left far more impressed by the Seagull.

When a small car feels roomy that means the doors, seats and body are thin and light weight. Just be careful you don't crash into a large heavy vehicle. It might shatter like an eggshell. Still I'd love to drive this car.

Congratulations on your video... I got more information from this short, punchy, omni-language presentation than I have from some boring twenty minute monologues. "A picture is worth a thousand words", as the saying goes! 😊

For reference: In the U.S., my 1966 Fiat 600, one of the bottom line cars of the 60s had a cost of $1,400, equivalent to $13,000 today. And that was a car with NO Options LOL. No seat belts, airbags, infotainment, power anything, and seats equivalent to lawn chairs. When is America going to stop protecting big buck, gas guzzling monsters, and let us have cars we can afford :)

@@LMCCasting to be fair 300Km is not that far especially for a huge country like China. 300KM is about the length of the netherlands if you drive from the north till the south. in fact you wont reach the full end of the netherlands. so generally speaking thats not much of a charge. however BYD makes amazing cars for sure. just the battery is not that great which is strange. o well for 5CAD its not expensive to charge anyway

This car is not coming to Australia because it can't achieve the ANCAP safety rating. Instead we have to pay 40,000 AUD minimum for a car. The system preferences giant unaffordable petrol cars. When they finally get around to incentivising more electrics by putting a cost on petrol cars, the market will only give us unaffordable 50k plus plus cars. This is exactly the sort of car we should have more of on the roads. Small, efficient, light carbon footprint and AFFORDABLE. And we wonder why there's runaway inflation and why the climate continues to decline.

It might get the rating, the bigger question is will people buy whilst the roads are dominated by such large vehicles? It's an arms race where weight and height are the weapons of choice.
And car industry reaps the benefit.

Just finished reading an article about the BYD Seagull. It would be great to have that vehicle in the US. Auto makers here will never allow that vehicle to come near the shores of the US with a $10,000 price tag. The vehicles made for US companies are far below the standards of this vehicle for the cost. Citizens rise up and demand competition from all over the world. Stop the nonsense of US Made. All US vehicles are made in China. The US specs prevail for the US cars you are driving. Not China specs. Wise up America!

China would love to work together with China its the US who is too stubborn and too big of a bully that they dont like to work together with China. but yes if the US and China would team up and the US will stop creating wars everywhere and destroying the planet. then they both could achieve great things. China Russia and the US could achieve great things. but the US doesnt like it to make the world a better place. wars are more important to them

yeah fat change of that going to happen anytime soon. 2 months later and you see that Biden put tariffs on Chinese EVs. they even want to Sanction mexico for getting a BYD factory. so yeah maybe they are getting sold in the US who knows but you will pay a huge price for it. this car from what i just read is 11K dollars. so 100% of that and you will have to pay 22K dollars for this car. still probably cheaper then a Tesla but still.

The problem is if byd is not significantly cheaper than e.g. Volkswagen, then none of this is of any use. Why should you buy a byd that is maybe 20% cheaper? 289km at almost 90% with the battery? That's vw e up size. Unfortunately, the charging performance is also not competitive and the ac charger is not up to date. If you now compare the vehicle with the used market, it gets really wild! It will cost us just under 20 000€. Used e ups are available for 12 000€. The I'd 2 comes for 25 000€. In terms of prices, Volkswagen etc. has nothing to fear on our market. If the vehicle would cost 10-12k, it would look completely different!
