edit: it's from bg3 apparently.
Playing the bg3 fight music... pretty cheeky 😂
Dragon's Dogma is like the only RPG where the Mage Class dominates tf out of the Warrior and Thief classes. I'm a Warrior class in like every game and even I admit the Mage is PEAK in DD
Warrior is ass in DDDA, thankfully someone fixed it with a mod
Another spell or skill i'd say i really like in DD2, from the magick archer class is Ricochet Seeker/Hunter. I can clean a cave (big monsters included) without even setting foot in it👌
I dunno, both versions of each spell were pretty well done in their own way. There's a certain consistency between games yet each has their own flavor.
Camera movement when casting spell make it even cooler
Lol ❤ btw insane music just perfect for this showcase
The camera angles really singlehandedly made maelstrom better in ddda
This was literally the selling point for me for DDDA i was unfortunately very late to the game, but those spells are awesome.
It actually took me years to see some of these magic animations because I refused to play a mage in DDDA.
man that's so cool, can you do a comparison video for mystic knight?
2012 animations >
bro why did the original tornado look like a fucking wacky waving inflatable arm tube man?
There was a pawn called, “smallpp” from DD1 clip
If only I can manually target my Maelstrom, the most fun thing to me in DD1 is use it on unaware enemies from afar or below or inside/outside the room
Both are epic, but its true that the camera movement to add power to the moment is much better in DD1
All these spells make for great screen captures.
The Twisted force of baldurs gate 3 got me.
I feel high bolide is better than meteoron in animation and execution, cause with bolide you don’t really have to aim it’ll auto aim, and the animation where you swing the staff feels more purposeful and the camera looking up to where the fireballs launch up to is just really cool.
In game 2 meteor showcase the character didn't look at the sky so cant tell by the video how they truly compare.
I dont know if there's high or grand versions in 2 but I assume maelstrom would looks bigger
As a Great Sword only Warrior, I really hated golems until my Sorc pawn learned Meteoron. I just wish she'd cast it faraway like I always teach her, cause for no reason she just starts casting it under the guy's legs.
even casting the spell takes longer than the game to finish
I wish the tornado behaved the same. and can you still the twinkle in the sky with the meteors?
Monsters: ☠️
Trees: 🗿
1:11 Oh hey, the new Twisters movie came out.
"these spell animations take 12 years to cast"
I think Kratos must've grown tired being a God of War. Now it looks like he's after the seneschal! 0:32
Found a ring that would turn Gicel and Bolide from High to Grand and My main pawn would call forth its power even in the smallest of enemy it can find
Cant blame her, its cool af.
Maelstrom is my favorite spell but i hate it because its a huge bitch when enemies cast it
Its either keep on healing as your bpuncing up and down, or wait till you hit the ground, and decide whether you wanna go back to last save or use a wakestone
Why not use your wakestone? Better start running, or youre gonna be RIGHT BACK IN THE FUCKIN TORNADO
Spell? Which spell? I think I got distracted....
Eh. The first one also has high versions of those spells, which isnt shown in the video and do look more impressive than their base versions.
Heck, you can get grand versions of bolide and seism too. (Gicel and fulmination also, but sadly they're removed.)
wow, now that's a meteor shower!
I had no idea Dragon's Dogma has such amazing spells. Probably because I never care to play mage. 😕
Ah yes, medieval air strikes...
Damn, I just realized I never played a mage build in DDDA. You just gave me a new reason to play the game.
The older footage is not from Dragons Dogma. Its Dragons Dogma online. The shortlived MMO. Great game but looks totally different. Online has a bit of anime style sprinkled in. You can really tell with the character animations. They are a bit more flashy and poppy. Hard to explain but easy to see.
Are you really sure? The mage and sorcerer gameplay is quite different from Dragon Dogma Online....
Also it's quite obvious this is Dragon Dogma UI, and that look like cassardis beach.
Actually if you look even even closer you can see it’s neither but it’s actually Dark Souls. Very easy to miss.
I guessnif imbbeing honest im not positive. But something about the color to me. Idk seems a little tpp vibramt, idk either way. @Fralite
Dragon's Dogma 2 was really amazing.
Once.
Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen is still really amazing, having beaten it 10 times already.
Oooh when I get done casting you're going to be in so much trouble!
I just feel like they didnt put any love into DD2
What is your point? Both games did marvelous with the attack animations. DD2 is absolutely worthy successor. The game is like those awesome CGI mobile games ads but turned into an actual gameplay.
give DD2 12 years and maybe, just maybe, it'll run as well as DD1 does.
I like the look of old Maelstrom better, tbh it looks a lot like a water spout and I got to see one of those IRL and that shit was cool.
It was really far away but still neat as hell. The big new hurricane thing in the new animation looks less interesting to me.
The camera is better in Dragon's dogma
