I just love how she comes out so natural and simple, wearing a plain white t-shirt, no caky make-up, nothing, yet nails it with her beastie raw talent and charisma and you fall in love with her ❤
Yes, that’s what it was like back in 1996. People, even top celebrities, would appear in public wearing comfortable clothes and being their true selves, rather than being all glittery and glamorous. Alanis Morrisette was particularly ground breaking at the time, because she was a woman unafraid to write and sing about her sexuality from her own perspective, without being objectified for the male gaze. Before her, female singers were either portrayed as sweet, innocent, and virginal (Celine Dion, Ace of Base, Sophie B. Hawkins) or as sex symbols (Madonna, Janet Jackson). Alanis broke the mold by being neither the virgin nor the vixen, but her own authentic self. Her success opened the door for countless other women singer-songwriters, including Fiona Apple, Jewel, Joan Osbourne, Meredith Brooks, Paula Cole, Tori Amos, Shawn Colvin, and many more. Even bubblegum pop groups like the Spice Girls promoted their version of “girl power.” Sadly, all this female empowerment was erased in 1999, when Britney Spears, whose image and sound were completely manufactured for the male gaze, came on the scene.
It was a tv show focused on live music, so yes the host is super professional when introducing everyone on stage.... and Taylor looks like "me? Dude... " lol

she’s so interesting to watch perform. the way she moves, the pacing, the way she always has only her left arm & hand moving super freely, like out of pure angst. she’s not dancing but it’s almost like dancing. it’s chaotically hypnotizing, like she’s crawling out of her skin to burst at the seams with raw genuine emotion to display for the world, whether we want it or not.
Gente, vale lembrar que isso era 1996... You Oughta Know, ao menos em Porto Alegre nem tocava no rádio! What a tragic loss....such an animal on the drums hitting always spot on. Me as a Foo Fighters fan feel so sorry for the world of music ...we are losing so many real musicians lately, Prince, Bowie, Amy and now Taylor...let the music live on, really...what times....
Yeap! she said he used to be her "engine" during the tour.... all the drums loops, his unique style of playing her songs made the best live versions of Jagged Little Pill.
Wow...seriously takes me back to 1995, when this track (and Jagged Little Pill) came out. I was 15 (or 16) at that time...everything was so much better, everyone was still alive, I was still happy, and still young too. Lol. Can't believe it's been 27 years since then...so much time has passed, and everything's so jacked up now...in every way, shape and/or form too. As much as I hate all the stuff going on now, especially for the past 2 years or so, I especially feel for the kids the most because they're being brainwashed, used as pawns for others benefits and weird ideas, and being taught ridiculous garbage. I'm about to be 43yo in a month or so, and I've never been more relieved that I don't have any children, but I feel so sorry for anyone that does especially with the school systems not wanting parents to have any say so over what garbage is being taught to their children. If I'm not mistaken it's Flea who plays bass on the actual record. I think he played one or two times live as well for the first tv appearances.

Chaney is actually with Eddie Vedder's Earthlings tour band
