The problem with Ronaldo is that he thinks he is still worth 500k a week. But in football the older you get the less you will earn by obvious reasons. He will never lower his wages to a dramatic amount, so returning to Sporting will only be a dream.

Take Fergie's Man Utd for example, I have never known them as the team that played beautiful football, the likes of Arsenal and Barca played beautiful football, Fergie's united were about scoring goals and refusing to be beating but here we are today in a world where these people saying beautiful football is their culture, them demanding it especially from Mourinho as if they ever that kind of a team is what shocked me the most. You do know that not everybody speaks English fluently? Ruben Amorim is Portuguese and was clearly struggling with finding words to express himself... What I think he wanted to say was something along the lines: Ronaldo has been happy in Manchester but the problem is he's not getting playing time right now
So if Cristiano 'loves Sporting' and he really just 'wants to play' and this is not about money he will never need or spend, he can make one phone call and within 24 hrs, move to Sporting and get both regular starts and move up to the Champions League?

CR7 will always be a legend and has had a legendary career, but not even CR7 can escape time. He is 37, and he is simply not a long term investment anymore. No club wants him, and I don't blame them. I think he is coming to terms with the fact that he most likely will finish his career at Manchester United, which in a way is so fitting, as he became a global sensation there in the first place.

Its difficult because money talks but a lot of promising coaches left too early and didn't become what they could have. Paulo Fonseca, Andre Villas Boas, Marco Silva , and to a lesser extent, Leonardo Jardim all should have stayed a couple more seasons before leaving. And no, I don't really rate winning the Russian or Ukrainian leagues when they coach the biggest clubs in the country like Shaktar and Zenit.

Loads of footballers go back to their youth club and play for pennies in comparison to their careers. I think Suarez signed on to play for £1,300 a week. Ronaldinho played for free because the idea was the media coverage alone would help his club financially and gain some legitimacy. I could never see ronaldo do something like that nor would his agent allow him to.
