    In todays video I go out on early ice and target walleye on Lake Nipissing here in Northeastern Ontario! The ice fishing season opened and It was amazing to be out on early ice again and catch a few fish! I was located in Callander Bay and was standing on around 5" of ice. Be safe out there!! I had most luck on the tipup with a live minnow! What a crazy opener! Stay tuned for tons of ice fishing videos to come! Good day on the water! I was thinking that fire was a little close to the shelter. It would be a shame to see that go up in smoke.

    Nice. We were out on opener as well. The minnows outfished jigging 25 to 4. Lots of perch, but also a 2 man limit!
    Wanted to ask, what's your biggest walleye out of Callandar? Seems like they top out at 20" there.

    • @KVGFishing
      @KVGFishing  6 месяцев назад

      Nice! Yea it definitely seemed like they wanted minnows over jigging forsure. My biggest walleye out of Callander was 23” last winter. Definitely a better chance of catching a big walleye out in the main lake in my opinion. I have seen some posts of big ones coming out of Callander though.

    Awesome vid, just wondering how deep of water you guys were in??

      Judging by how much line he was pulling by hand approximately 15-17 ft deep

    • @fishmonkesus
      @fishmonkesus 6 месяцев назад

      27 ft. It's in the basin on Callander Bay. It's all one big 25-30 ft mud basin, and it looks like they were out in the middle.

      @KVGFishing  6 месяцев назад +1

      We were in 30ft of water, thanks for watching!

    What a shame the average on that is so small. Wasn't like that 25 years ago.

    • @KVGFishing
      @KVGFishing  6 месяцев назад

      Yea it definitely is unfortunate the average is small. Hopefully in a few years the average gets bigger with the new slot. I wish I was alive 25 years ago to fish it then. Still fun to catch a ton of fish though even if they are smaller.

      40-45cm, if you search up FMZ 11 regulations online and go under waterbody exceptions you can see Lake Nipissing. Thanks for watching!
