      Games workshop have said it themselves the halo stars, and the ghoul stars are not occupied by Chaos. And that there are other things besides chaos in the warp. So definitely not slow Nash. The chaos gods have no power and the ghoul stars or the halo stars. In fact, games workshop has teased that the halo stars is actually a third dimension due to the nature of some of the creatures that the black Templars crusaded were found out to be from a different dimension that wasn’t the warp.

    • @MagnusArchvile
      @MagnusArchvile Год назад +12

      @@SpazMonkeyxd this is a fascinating inclusion because I honestly forgot that the warp storms surrounded the sector the planet's in and not the planet itself. I have a headcanon now that the reason why those warp storms suddenly appeared there was because the chaos gods could detect the presence of something else inside that sector and were attempting to reach it but ultimately were unable to.
      And to what you said before about there being another other dimension besides the warp, maybe the reason why Grace wasn't on any maps was because it hadn't been there before

    Shadowkith seems like a 40k rendition of the Wendigo monster! They are formed when people resort to cannibalism and are creatures associated with greed and hunger. They also have the ability to mimic human voices and are able to hold some form of intelligence, where they also hunt by luring people through such mimicry. The Wendigo monster has been featured in many stories in mainstream media already but this 40k version still sounds unique and rather refreshing, it's also the first time I've seen the Wendigo monster in sci fi!

Think about it this is kinda how slaanesh was born in the first place, only on a smaller scale, of course it would get it´s attention, anda warp god can most definitley cause a warp storm and isolate the planet. We did this as a fleet in distress as part of the Procession of the Damned. Finally found two of the derelicts broadcasting manual distress calls only to find out once our party had boarded the first ship that what was left of the crew had devolved into these insanely fast and strong hordes. The second ship, that was larger than the first was much worse due to the vast numbers. I distinctly remember their spawn being particularly horrible with the traps and thrown weaponry. Time dilation was a major factor in the fight on the second ship, which thankfully favored the players in the engagement. Two great tastes that were far nastier/terrifying than being on their own. The GM had us constantly making sanity checks.

    When I heard wes describing grace as an unregulated pleasure world with limitless hedonism I could tell where this was going, and the sudden warp storms sorta confirmed it. They somehow managed to attract the attention of slaanesh and that’s why they underwent mutation relatively quickly.

    I can see a videogame being made, focused around a determined rogue trader wanting to scavenge the planet in search of treasure and lost artifacts. They arrive and receive the deluge of distress calls, but soon find themselves trapped as the warp storms close around it again. You can visit the towering fungi where some of the deformed aristocrats fled to in order to try and subsist on it, or the once-bustling city slave ruins, or even the decaying manors at their center. Time spent exploring and answering distress calls can give lore about what things happened on Grace before its downfall, or even discover more dark and sinister things which lead to the inhabitants mutating so rapidly. Perhaps it could be an ARPG like Path of Exile, or a first-person hack-and-slash like Vermintide/Darktide, maybe horror, or a mix.

The narration, the music, all of it just sent shivers down my spine and made me look behind my back just in case. Though one thing did leave me wondering, what ever happened to Chorda? Did she perish when the storms first arrived? Did she try to return when they finally disappeared, or is she still traveling across the stars?

    Video game idea: You are a "treasure hunter" in 40k. You receive info about an abandoned former pleasure planet that has completely untouched estates chock full of technology and valuables that are just waiting to be raided. So you, or a small team if you want multiplayer, gear up and have a small shuttle drop you off on Grace to hunt treasure.
    Obviously you will encounter the cannibal zombie things and now have to survive for a set amount of time before your ride shows up at the designated landing zone to pick you up. Whatever valuables or technology you can carry with you or bring to the LZ can be taken back with you, selling off your haul to pay for upgrades or new equipment so you can turn around and head back for more. Game modes can include: 1) a persistent base that you build up over time, allowing you to haul ever increasing amounts of loot back 2) each run can be a new start with only whatever gear you brought 3) you can be something other than a treasure hunter, perhaps an inquisitor looking for answers or the new owner of Grace looking to rebuild paradise after cleaning house; each mode would entail not only surviving, but other goals such as finding clues, solving mysteries, or just exterminating everything.
