    I followed all your video and appreciate your input all. This was the first I saw about this model and my church received one as a gift and ask me to set it up in just 1 hour. Your video has been instrumental to the success of my setup. Again Thanks you and God Bless.

    2:25 Are Mix 1 and Mix 2 Master always the monitors that are connected with a wifi box? Two speakers are connected already and working, but we can't get the two monitors to work. We haven't tried that you showed yet tho.

    Great Job.! I have 4 Singers, and they all have individual monitors. Ch-1 -> Mix-1, Ch-2 -> Mix-2, and so on for all 4. I would like to put a small amount of effect for each send. Each of them like a different level that they prefer. I currently have a bit of Reverb and a short Slap on FX1 & FX2. for each of the Vocals. Can use the same effects for each of the monitors or do I need to use FX3 or FX4? I planned on using a doubler four the lead signer and an external harmonizer on FX4 or something... Simply... Can i use a small amount of the reverb and delay for the monitors? Thanks Dwayne.

    I know this is wayyyy after this was posted, but I could really use some advice. I just installed a QU-32 at our church and have the monitors attached to MIX 1-4 but I am not getting any sound. I have the channels set to route to the appropriate mixes so I am really stumped. Any advice for a newbie to the QU world? Anything I could be missing?

    Hmmm, so nothing about setting channel gain or eq'ing the foldback send before you put any mic signal into them? Must be a really quiet stage, or you're getting really lucky not having any feedback!

    Great tutorial. Especially for someone fairly new to the Tech side of things. And my first digital desk.
    Just one question (maybe you could cover this). How do I send FX to an In Ear Monitor send? Do I just use the FX as normal on the main mix but add the effect to different instruments? Or is there another way to do this?
    TIA

    • @UKMastering
      @UKMastering 2 года назад

      Essentially the same as any instrument or vocal. just press layer button where you will see the effects return channels. (channels 4-5-6-7 on the layer level) now select your mix to send to (Blue buttons on the right) and simply add the amount of effects! (Push up the fader for the effects return) to the monitor/ iem mix that they want in the monitor or iem's

    I got a problem with my me1 personal monitor communicating with the qu24. Or at least I think? Every time I turn up or down a volume on a channel, it affects the me1's volume too!! Everything else works fine, meaning the name show on the me1 and buttons too. Its like if they are not personal monitors, just monitor mixes. Can you please respond or make a video??!!!

    Q 1: How to avoid sound changes on the monitor when i do some EQ adjustments on channel 1 when mix LR is selected?
    Q 2: How to send FX effects to the monitor that doesn't effect the FOH?
    Thanx in advance for your answer or better, a tutorial on this topic.

      Press whatever mix you want the FX to be in and bring up the faders on the FX returns. I did that but it will bring FX to the whole monitor mix, not individual instruments or just vocals as such. Sounds weird with the kick drums and hihat. Hope that helps.

      Go to layers and increase your sends to that mix. Then go back to the main FX and increase there. Avoid too much though

    Great tutorial, really helped me setting up my QU16. Just one question, I have singers that requested some reverbs in the monitors for just vocals. I can only add reverbs to the whole monitor mix but not just for vocals. Is there a way to do that because I don't want reverbs for drums, keys, guitars in the monitor as well. Hope that make sense.

    Hi, this tutorial is very helpful, in my church we recently purchased this Qu24 mixer, i wondering if you could help us in showing how to set up the in ear monitors, we get the beringher p16m, and we wonder how can we make groups so we can send the 7 mics for the drum in just one channel, i really appreciate if you could help us with that

    • @MV-in8xs
      @MV-in8xs 5 лет назад

      re: the p16m - I am not that familiar with the unit, however, looking at the connections it looks as if the only inputs are via the ethernet jack (ultranet) - i think that is your first issue you should solve - whether that unit will interface with the QU24 dSnake - it looks like you would need the p16i -
      www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/P16I--behringer-powerplay-p16-i-16-channel-input-module
      In order to use the p16m with analog inputs going into the p16i then ultranet connections to the p16m -
      and looks like the low cost of the p16m needs the p16i in order to take advantage of the unit via analog
      connections.
      you could look into the Allen Heath ME personal mixing system - although costs more it does the dSnake option fairly easily
      www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/ME500PM--allen-and-heath-me-500-personal-mixer
      At our church this is what we use for wireless in ear - www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/ATM3L--audio-technica-m3l
      we found a good deal for four on craigslist - be careful however with all the new changes in bandwidth from the FCC
      our setup is analog connections from the digital snake to the ins of the AT transmitters - then to the receivers -
      A wireless in ear system would be much like we have - but each person with a receiver can adjust their own mix via the Qu-You app on iOS or
      Android -
      Also remember that the Qu24 can be run via an iPad with the Qu-Pad app - only on iOS - i think there is some android version but not fully supported by AH.
      The QU24 will give you up to 6 or 7 separate monitor mixes/sens - 4 are mono and 3 are stereo
      What sort of snake are you using? analog or the ab168 or ar2412
      So this means you may have 12 in ear monitors but not 12 individual mixes for them. Only 7 which means 5 will be duplicates of the original 7
      .
      At our church i share one mix with the drummer - we basically hear the cues and click track with some lead vocals
      and everyone else has their mix - so depending on your set up - you will be limited to 7 unique monitor mixes - not a big deal for a smaller group but i don't know your needs.
      Hope this helps

      We have the beringher P16i too, we gonna have that close to the mixer and send the signal to the stage to the beringher P16d so we can split the signal for eight P16m, but we only need six and we have an analogue snake not the A&H 2412, but we are not using that anymore for the music, we gonna have just on floor monitor for the preacher, we know that it would be easy to get the ME monitoring system but like you say its quite expensive, the only problem that we have right now is how to put the 7 mics of the drum together into one fader so we can send the drum in one channel to the P16m

    Monitor sound typically gets bounced off the back wall and into the audience ... not good. I think that sound is also out of phase with that coming out of the mains. I have tried to angle the monitors so they do not hit the back wall by angling them sideways. This can't always be done because of the stage set up, but when it can, it makes the sound hitting the ears in the audience sound better. The musicians just need to get used to having the monitor sound hit them in one ear ... doesn't take long.

But, I setil would like to yuse the QU as a monitor mixer, So , just to get signals from the line outs from soundcard, and give each musichan their own monitor mix. Is this possible ? how do I route the enidividual mixes ? So I need to buy extra gear? or can I take a seperate output from the back and rout to a separarte monitor amplifier ?

    Can you configure the aux/monitor sends pre/post fader on per channel basis or a per mix basis? Example - send the input mic channels to mixes pre-fade but the "canned tracks" channels post-fade?

    • @dcgreen1987
      @dcgreen1987 2 года назад

      The way I have done it is use 1 FX dedicated to the monitors. Then make whatever channels you want FX on monitors "prefade" on the fx channel. Not the mix itself. Hold the button to the left of the channel strip to show you what channels are in pre/post fade. The channels you want the FX on need to be lit up.

      To begin, make sure you are in the Processing Mode - Press the PROCESSING Button located at the top part of the board
      1. Press the SELECT button for the Master Channel - Should have a Green LED located above the Master Fader
      2. Press the button for the Mix you would like to EQ - located on the right side of the board for example MIX 1 - it should light up Blue LED
      3. Look at your touch screen and you should see the basic four areas that show Mix, PE!, GEQ, and Comp - Make sure the top left area of the screen is displaying the mix you wish to EQ
      4. Use the EQ knob section of the mixer to adjust your settings. Make sure the IN button - Green LED is on.

      Marlon Valladares I've been using our Qu24 and Qu32 mixers for the last 2 years. I can confidently say that it is a solid mixer and does the job. But for what I use it for, it's not enough. The part that disappoints me the most are the amount of mixes. I don't like that they have link 5-6 up to mix 9-10. If those were separated it would be better.
      I recommend Yamaha Mixers. I want to get the TF5. Man that thing is amazing. Or if I have extra money just get the S-Class Allen and Heath.
