Excellent series! Every serious piano technician should carefully watch all of them! I learned a lot. Thanks!

Dec 23, 2023. First time to find you, Hyrum. I’ve just bought a new action … and in shock over how rough the piano is. I’ve learned a lot from you and Josh. Will talk to you on your channel about the carbon fiber action and my expectations … or whether to give up on it.

Thank you for providing this excellent content. I've watched all of it and have a question.
For most pianists, carrying their own pianos to concerts is impossible. Consequently, the feel and action of the pianos in concert halls can be quite challenging due to differences in piano design, condition, and regulation.
Do you think it's advisable for a pianist to have two pianos? One specifically regulated for practice with adjustments like a stiffer action, greater key depth, increased hammer travel, early letoff, late letoff, and various tonal qualities (bright, mellow, etc.). The other piano reserved for the best performance experience, recordings, or subtle interpretation rehearsals?
If a pianist only has access to one piano, would you suggest it be set up as a practice piano? But could it be argued that such a piano might hinder the development of certain technical skills by limiting the range of results achievable with various playing techniques?

Even though I didn't win the Fujan I will share a bad joke I just "composed".
    .
What did the piano tech say to the single needle voicing tool that rolled away from him when he dropped it on the floor?
"Please don't leave me! You're my awl!"
I just told that to my tech. So if you hear that joke again, you know him!
