Huge Respect to India from the Philippines 🇮🇳🤝🇵🇭
    Edit: February 27, 2022
I lost my respect because the huge consensus of Indians do not have the spine to call out Russia on their invasion of Ukraine. If China were to invade India in the future, they should have the principle to deny foreign support. Such honorless backstabbers 🙁.
    Edit 2: March 20, 2022

    Honest opinion here;
for India to be a world power,
The army will need more modern equipment especially support vehicles to support the modern infantry,
More foreign reserve to be used in special situations since Global warming speeding up.
Much larger economy around double the current size around 6Tr USD, maybe we'll see India be a World power by 2030 earliest to 2035 who knows.
Opening the economy giving a stim to the local economy.
Providing better working conditions that promote people to work in the cities and those who does will stay, (minimum wage kind of stuff)
Well Modi have made great progress but many is still need to be done, maybe both of us can figure something out from being formerly scavenged by empirical powers,
good luck to us, wish you all a decent time ahead.

2022 would be even more important. We'll have to push even more aggressively to Reform our Military structure as well as undertake rapid Modernisation. Reforms broadly include-
    1. Operationalising Theatre Commands
    2. Reorganizing all Corps. of Army into Integrated Battle Groups
    3. Integrated Capabilities Development Plan which would include all 3 forces coordinating a Road map of Force Modernisation for the next 10 years. Until now each force made a separate plan for their Modernisation but now focus would be on integrating requirements as in future all wars will have to be fought jointly. Keeping that in mind an Integrated Capabilities Development plan for the next 10 years would soon be released.
    4. Uniform Age of retirement across the 3 forces depending upon their ranks (One of the core ideas of CDS Gen. Rawat).
    5. Releasing the Digital Combat Uniform for all the 3 Armed Forces.
All this isn't possible without increasing the defence budget as a percentage of the GDP.
Not many know & it's quite unfortunate & might even be surprising to many that our Defence Budget as a % of the GDP is at it's lowest since 1962 war. In Absolute terms our Defence budget might have increased & is 67 Bn$ which is the 3rd highest but as a % of GDP it's merely 2.3%. What's even worse is that out of 67 Bn$ only, 21 Bn$ was allocated for Modernisation, rest went into paying pensions, salaries & Revenue sector related requirements like filling Ammunition reserves, upgrading infrastructure for borders.
The lowest as a % of GDP might be mainly due to 2 reasons-
    1. Govt. had to allocate more funds in last year's budget towards getting the economy back on track after -7% Growth in 2020-21.
    2. Booming Revenue budget as a part of total Defence Budget allocation. Revenue budget mainly consists of Salaries, Pensions, covering for shortfalls in Ammunition reserves etc.
Hopefully in the upcoming defence budget a good chunk would be alloted to Capital Allocation in the Defence budget. Capital allocation is mainly meant for purchasing new weapons or additional weapons of existing category, upgrading existing ones to modern standards.
