Hello Mr2Tempos. I have a 2013 Citroen C5 1.6 THP with only 45k km and I have a similar problem with yours. I bought the car at 35k km and the P0087 was there so these pumps fail as early as 30k km. From time to time my pressure drops from ~50 bar to 5-10-15 bars. I've been traveling with this problem for about 10k km since I bought the car, mostly in vacations and country roads. In city driving the problem is more present than in long run. I get now and then P0087 error but when I feel the engine lagging, I rev it a little bit to 1500-2000 rpm to increase the pressure and avoid the error that always occur in low rpm. But the problem is there I know it. I removed recently the pump, mesured the expansion chamber and got exactly 22.5 mm similar with the one in this video and didn't dismantled it further assuming the internals were good. After watchig this video I realized that the problem is inside and might be like you showed, the internal springs. I watched multiple times this video with translation but didn't understood exactly what caused the spring to flatten/wash? Where did all that metal go and what kind of movement caused it to "wash" that bad. Also it would be nice of you, with all your experience with these pumps, to make a video with all the possible failure cases of these pumps like the springs, the lack of oil, the petrol contamination of oil, the presurre regulator etc. Thanks for sharing. Greetings from Europe.
"Also it would be nice of you, with all your experience with these pumps, to make a video with all the possible failure cases of these pumps like the springs, the lack of oil, the petrol contamination of oil, the presurre regulator etc. .All these questions have already been commented on in my 177 videos...during the last few years. As for your problem....if your pump has a QR CODE....they work well between 30 and 50 thousand kilometers. And... many times... the measurement on the oil suppressor (diaphragm) does not change... and remains at 22 mm. As for the piston "springs"....if the "tips" "break"...they must be replaced with another one....as they can "damage" other parts of the pump. The best thing....always.....is to get another pump to reuse some parts. I can answer you better via WatsApp...
@@Mr2tempos Thanks for the prompt answer. My pump has a QR code on the big fixed body but also has a number scratched by hand on the side facing the engine where in one of your videos you showed the newer pumps have a QR code (near the rotating shaft). Is that from factory or someone worked on the pump at some point in time ? Also, used pumps are very hard to find in my area cause most of the fixes are done by exchanging the old pump for a new/refurbished one. I will try to find one or buy a cheap chineese "refurbished" one for ~200 euros. Thanks again for the tips and for the works.
@@iulianarg2291This pump of yours.....hand scratched....near the rotating "piece"...it is an original pump and of very good quality. They are the first....that were installed on these engines. As for buying a Chinese pump....it's an excellent idea, as you will have spare parts. These pumps are also deficient due to lack of use.....your car is from 2013 and now has 45K km on it....in other words...."it has driven" less than 4.5K km per year...it is very little. I know of cases where this pump exceeded 90K km...but maintaining an average of 10K km per year. In any case....try to clean the "electrovalve"....with lubricating spray and compressed air....before thinking about dismantling it.
