Sam was truly an icon in LA and he will definitely be missed!! I watched him everyday when I lived in LA and always looked forward to his interviews. My condolences to his wife and kids and his KTLA family.

I can't believe this. To say it's a complete shock would be an understatement of the highest sort. R.I.P. Sam.... the morning news will not be the same without you. I can't imagine what his colleagues will be going through in the coming days and weeks.
My wife just texted me the news and I couldn't believe it. Sam (and KTLA as a whole) was/is such a wonderful way to start the day with his funny and sometimes awkward moments that truly made KTLA one of the best things on TV. He will be truly missed by millions and my heart goes out to his family and friends. Los Angeles and Southern California as a whole won't be the same without his representation. My mornings with KTLA will feel very off for a long time.

I grew up in southern California watching Sam report the entertainment news. I now live on the East Coast and watched him via the app. He'll be missed.

Condolences to the Rubin and KTLA families. It will be so different without seeing him on Channel 5. His smiles, laughter, voice, and presence, such as at award shows (i.e Oscars) will forever be engrained in the lives of many. He joins the legendary KTLA reporters who brought excellence to news coverage (i.e Hal Fishman, Larry McCormack, Stan Chambers), and have come and gone. He will forever be missed. Thank you, Sam!

Sam, Barbara, Carlos, Mark, Gail, Jennifer were a great team during the early 1990’s I watched them every morning while getting my kids ready for school. So sad for his family today. Gone too soon. Rest in peac🙏🏽

Sam will be missed! He was one of the faces I became familiar with when I moved to Santa Monica in 1999, making me feel as if he was a personal friend. :) He was a fantastic at what he did reporting the entertainments news. May he rest in peace.

I am so sorry to hear about Sam Rubin. He was a class act all the way. Even though he left us too soon, we should all take comfort in knowing that he is with the Lord. We're KTLA viewers for decades, Sam's passing - in tears, Chris Burrous sadly before as well. I could be in the worst morning mood, until Sam appeared. He could talk, listen, understand, question, a perfect balance of talking story.

Way back in 1991 I was 12 years old and living in Norwalk when I started watching Sam Rubin along with the KTLA morning news, I watched his Hollywood report every single morning and I did that until I moved up to Oregon back in 1994. I still get my news from KTLA on occasion, but yes it sure is going to be different without Sam around.
I always start my mornings with Sam and the crew turned on the TV a little late around 7:00 a.m. notice something was different with the anchors the normal crew wasn't Broadcasting found out a few hours later that Sam passed rest well definitely going to be missed

Me and my boyfriend were ar a business where KTLA 5 was playing when we saw Sam i remembered him from his interview years ago with Samuel L Jackson that got pretty spicy 😅 so sad we finally saw him again and a few days later he went back home. RIP it wont be KTLA 5 without you.
