I absolutely applaud Corrie for bringing this subject to light. There are *SO MANY* misinformed people out there about those "skin lightening* creams. I hope people take this seriously, it's a big issue nowadays.
maria smay well the reason it’s reacting like that is because it’s cheap stuff off the internet if she was to get something like that done professionally then she wouldn’t have that problem

She’s beautiful as she is, well done for Corrie with highlighting this issue.
This is so sad to watch, the way the world is portraying the ridiculous notion “the lighter you are, the more privileged you are”, we should love the way the skin tone that we have instead of having a competition against it😔
It's your inner self that matters: How you treat people, your talents, strengths, your heart. It doesn't matter. One day, you will see this when you are ready Asha. It's just a shell, your skin. To all who feel like this, remember my words. xx
2:11/2:07 how much does she spread on her skin so she ends up needing another tub, how can no one notice that her face is different 2:24 One touch and it hurts her
I noticed how asha was wearing so much makeup her skin started looking lighter she always wore long sleeves being bullied for the way u look is something I can relate too I was bullied at high school for the way I looked I have vitiligo around both my eyes it hurt me emotionally i would cry all the time when kids bully u u try to.ignore the comments.but when they constantly bully u every time u start to believe that maybe wat there saying is true thats wat bulling does to you then u try to change the way the bullies see u i have had vitiligo and wore glasses since 13 years old i was called dirty eyes four eyes yuck kids gave me ugly looks like my vitiligo was going to.spread on to them or something.but no matter how much bulling I got I never covered my face with make up wat asher is doing to her skin and herself it happens to people around the world I remember watching this video on line can't remember the name anyway.I think it was on Oprah this mum she had two young boys they all had dark skin she started bleaching her skin and her two little boys skin she every day to look lighter she would scrub her boys skin until it was raw I felt so sad for these young boys having to go through.something.like this everyday it was.horrible I can see why asha is feeling this way but honestly I don't see wat the bullies see I hope asha gets help before it gets worse and before its too late
Omg I just don’t understand why Asha wants to change her skin colour for? Does she hate being Indian and religious? I would never use such dangerous products to do summit like this
Roxie Rocks I’m Indian and I think it’s really important that Corrie are highlighting this issue as I feel like it is rarely discussed. When I was much younger I used to experiment with different skin lightening creams, thinking that it would have the effect that I wanted and make my skin lighter. In fact it was very much the opposite and I stopped using them, mainly because I felt like I was already comfortable with the way I was and that I didn’t need to wear it. I’m very much confident and happy in my own skin, but it’s really upsetting to see people nowadays, especially young teens, that have been socially conditioned to look a certain way, especially on social media, Bollywood stars etc. It has a negative impact on one’s self esteem, how they view themselves and the pressure to look “perfect”. It’s quite sad.
Sophie J Thank you sophie, that’s a very kind comment. When I was a teenager I mostly used these creams that promised you would have fairer skin, but it’s absolute nonsense. Now that I’m 21 and more comfortable with how I look, I’m just happy being me to be honest.
Roxie Rocks It’s not really a case of me being lovely or not, it’s just my opinion. And yeah, honestly I do think I could do a better job. I know they’re doing their best but people like the actors who plays Simon and Bethany in Corrie or April and Liv in Emmerdale just set the standard so high. I’m not saying they’re awful, but every scene they’re in seems almost too rehearsed and over exaggerated to the point where it looks forced. It seems more like a pantomime than a show that’s meant to mimic the real world. And that then makes me it harder to appreciate the seriousness of their storylines because their acting is so laughable. There are just way better child actors out there than some of the kids on telly rn.

I agree. Tanisha Gorey who plays Asha is amazing!!!!

This is so hard to watch, feel so bad for her. Everyone should love everyone for just the way they are x
anybody else surprised nice amy came from tracey
Roxie Rocks that’s true
Well, maybe she's looked at her mother and thought, ' 'I don't wanna be like that!'
Roxie Rocks no not really
I like this story line is different but relative in todays world

This story line should win a award, asha is so beautiful and she does not need light skin to prove it ❤️

Roxie Rocks oh I see

This is similar to Hollyoaks: Anita Roy's storyline when she was being racially abused and she bleached her skin.
Charley J wow bleached?
Well done asha
Amy understands what Asha is going through and gives support. Sometimes it makes me feel that they are sisters when they are mates.
Alright
1:33
What that song called x anyone at the end
It’s called bin din din by Mohammad Derka Durka
That singing killed me, almost as bad as her acting. Virtually none of the young cast in Corrie atm can act. It’s like watching a primary school play.

@@allyflint1807 honestly I do get your point. Amys acting is way over exaggerated. Tho the actress for Bethany- she's terrible
@Roxie Rocks I thought her acting in the storyline of having her eating disorder was okay. Her acting in the storyline with Nathan was so bad.
@@lmuni119 what lol
Ally Flint don’t be so mean
