The sound of the guitar is so clear. It's definitely one of the best guitar concerto recordings.

Unfortunately, we guitarists are not blessed with as many concertos as, say, pianists or violinists. Yet, there are other concertos besides Aranjuez - a magnificent opus, but way too overexposed. Fortunately, we now have this admirable rendition of Ponce’s concerto. Thank you, Mr Dylla.

Este concierto fue escrito por el compositor mexicano Manuel María Ponce para el guitarrista Andrés Segovia y fue estrenado por el compositor a la batuta y el dedicatario a la guitarra en Montevideo, Uruguay.
Equivocado, es de Manuel M Ponce, dedicado a Andrés Segovia, quien la interpretó varias veces. Ponce era amigo de Segovia
Es que la traducción al inglés esta mal, dices: was quiten for spanish...

Yo creo que es superior.. la guitarra dialoga con la orquesta. En Aranjuez es una pelea constante. A excepcion del.Adagio

whoever was the sound engineer?! Wonderful job. usually the guitar ends up out of balance with the orchestra but this is mic'd perfectly and balanced

Absolutely right Daniel Hartle - the balance IS perfect - so important in guitar concertos.
@@schnooleheletteletto you are 100 % right...the guitar sounds strange...too much "medium" frecuencies...no basses, no trebles... "mediums" only...

@@lucarinaldovillani63 guitar has no "body"..no low frequencies..is VERY easy to fix if you have the original GUITAR track...

I heard from many guitarmakers and players that you can't use maple guitars for concerts. Here we have the proof that this is not true!

I think that it's because Maple is less dense and heavy than Rosewood, the people commonly think that it will project the sound less well.
Thibault J on the contrary maple is more dense than cedar or spruce. but I do not believe the top is maple, the side and back yes.
The top is spruce. Most likely European spruce because Gabriele Lodi is and Italian guitar maker and he probably uses some local Alpine spruce.

This must have been a great live experience. It's too bad that the guitar mic has way too little compression and strings kill the woodwinds...

He is playing on "Flamenco" guitar, not Classical" guitar, you right the sound is very different.
