This isnt exactly cost saving, more out of necessity where shuttering is not available. In any case the brick should not replace RCC, and I presume that is not the case here. To use Laurie Baker's name itself is misleading

Christopher Camero it depends on the soil.cracks may appear if soil is weak. Plinth beam is good in case earth quake appears
