Oh that’s sooo frustrating! Grrrr! I’ve seen other people do a double fence I think a few feet apart because deer can’t or won’t jump the double fence. I think it was electric fencing. We have 5 -6’ fences but much smaller garden. Praying for you. Val C ❤️🙏🏻
P.S. Billy's Bone Sauce was formulated specifically for fruit and nut tree deer protection. The low tunnels sound like a terrific idea. I bet that would give you 100% protection; of course, it might drive you crazy to have to move covers off to irrigate with your sprinklers then put covers back on, but at least you'd have something left that needs irrigation!!
Yes it will be annoying to have to lower the tunnels for irrigation but I will have to irrigate less and less hopefully as we approach winter. But it will give me peace of mind knowing the rows are covered. And it’s much cheaper to cover most of my farm with low tunnels rather than full size caterpillar tunnels!
DREW, THAT'S ROUGH!! I WOULD CRY!! I have had good success w/ tin foil pans and plastic grocery bags tied to a string I ran around valuable crops. Deer and ground hogs don't like the noise of the plastic in the wind or the tin foil pie pans shining in the sun or moon light. I tied them every other one, about 5 ft apart, on just one edge so they could flap in the breeze on a string or wire about 3 ft off the ground. Also, I have no personal experience, but Billy's Bone Sauce from PermaPastures Farm (website and RUclips channel) gets good reviews as an effective deer repellent. It is pricey
The deer clean up all my fallen apricots, and I can only grow squash in my front yard since them don’t enjoy the prickly leaves. My backyard is completely fenced in with a wooden fence. Apparently deer won’t jump the fence if they can’t see through it.
If deer net fencing is illegal where you're at do a living fence of arborvates and eventually they will be tall enough you can hide a deer fence behind it without getting caught. Or keep a very b
I didn’t realize electric netting was illegal in some places but I guess I’m not surprised. We have arborvitae’s growing as a green fence on the other side of our property and they’re great, they just took years and years to get as big as they are now.

Thank you for the advice! I think electric netting might be the best bet

Thanks for the advice! I have looked at his bone sauce before but never thought I needed it until now. That’s a clever idea I may have to try.

Good to know, was thinking about electric fencing but figured they would just jump over it

Can you put that deer in your freezer?
I’m planning on it lol only problem is I can’t see at night when it comes out to eat everything so I need to get some night vision or something
