In the beginning when the college kids are in the vehicle what Chad yelled out wasn't squeal like a bitch, it was "Squeal like a pig" which is a reference to the movie Deliverance and the famous squeal like a pig scene with Ned Beatty. At the time it was an extremely disturbing scene. It is the same movie that made the song Dueling Banjos famous.
The part that always gets me about this movie is just how well played Tucker and Dales friendship is. There are some actually touching moments which I certainly wasn’t expecting in a slasher comedy flick.
Its so wholesome!
Not to mention how believable the romance between Allison and Dale is! That very understated, but extremely earnest "Dreams are *not* stupid!" from him set the stage.
One of the best details about this movie is that the more insane Chad becomes, the more popped his collar is.
I think the collar popping causes the insanity.
This is why the government started a secret project to make collar popping uncool via early social engineering in the 80s/90s.
4:43 "First rule of talking with girls is don't bring a scythe"
Me: *Writes notes furiously*
Fuck. Back to square one
Girl: IS THAT A SCYTHE!?
Me: it's also a fully customizable high impact sniper rifle.
@@matthewpopow6647 Cap: I understood that reference!
For the bit at the end: remember Dale’s story for how he and Alison met and started dating begins with her being knocked unconscious through their interaction, and Dale dragging her back to his place to nurse her back to health. His friend obviously took the wrong lesson from the story…
This is top tier horredy right here. I watch this several times a year. Its my go-to comfort movie for after a bad night at work. Instantly lifts my mood every time.
6:15 That is "Chekovs' woodchipper." For those who don't get the reference, "Chekov's gun" is term used for Anton Chekov's principle that a playwrite shouldn't prominently introduce an element into the play that doesn't eventually pay off. He expressed it various times in various versions, the most well know being "If in the first act you have hung a gun on the wall, then in the following one it should be fired. Otherwise don't put it there."
Thank you for the insight :)
Once you know the concept you start to recognize it everywhere. Another good example is in Shaun of the Dead with the rifle hanging in the Winchester bar which they all believe is just for decoration, only for them to find out it’s real when they try to use it towards the end of the movie.
Well, Officer... I've had a doozie of a day 😅😂
I loved this movie. I ended up having a big crush on the actor that played Dale. A friend of mine knows him irl and actually told him. I got so embarrassed 😳😂
"WE GOT UR FREIND" is going on my tombstone
"ARE YOU OK?!" 🤣
"Squeal like a pig" is what that college kid said at the beginning of the movie. it's a reference to DELIVERANCE, which is a backwoods horror movie from the 70s.
I feel like that line went way over a lot of viewers heads. They should react to that movie!
There's actually a special feature on the dvd that plays the movie from the college kids' perspective, where Tucker & Dale look like murderous hillbillies.
Oh shit. Buying now.
Alan Tudyk is a great comedic actor. You should see him in Resident Alien.
Agreed learning to speak English from watching Law and Order 'Clung.. clung!' is brilliant!
A smallish role but I love him in A Knights Tale too.
dodgeball also
Love him in firefly
Or in Moana. He KILLED it as that chicken
This movie is such a blast.
It takes all the tropes of slashers a la Friday the 13 and similar others, and turn them on the head.
The two menacing looking hillbillies being just good hearted guy while the school jock being the true hillbilly/serial killer.
The hot girl falling for the fat bearded guy.
The absurd situations and the comedy of errors which makes it look to the sheriff as though they are slaughtering young people.
And of course, the chemistry and comedic chops of the two leads, Alan Tudyk and Tyler Labine as Tucker and Dale respectively.
Also, a nod must be given to Katrina Bowden as Allison. The love chemistry between her and Dale really comes out as genuine and heartwarming.
Hilarious movie and a real treat to watch.
This movie has my favourite ever line of dialogue ... "I should have known if a guy like me talked to a girl like you, somebody would end up dead"
Mine is the you're half hillbilly. I don't know why but I find it hilarious.
This one flew under the radar for most people initially but eventually gained a cult following and is often included in a lot of horror lists.
Do Splinter as well :D
YES! I love Splinter. So good
Splinter was a feaky one
I think it suffered because it came out pretty close in time to Cabin in the Woods. Both are awesome, but the public appetite for comedy/horror was split a bit.
@@sumnerhayes3411 Cabin In The Woods didn’t have a worldwide release til 2 years after Tucker & Dale though. It’s more because it was an indie film that had a limited theatrical release. Streaming on Netflix and word of mouth really helped this film
Splinter is amazing.
Well officer....we've had a doozy of a day
One of the most criminally not known films ever - it's bloody brilliant!
He'll Yeah! Alan Tudyk is a Legend!
He is now in Harley Quinn, devil may care, and resident alien.
@@thai1217 thank you imdb
This movie is an awesome example of the word misunderstanding
I love Tucker & Dale Vs Evil. I bought the DVD off of Amazon in 2011 just off a whim (I often did back in the mid-early Amazon days). Am glad it is gaining a cult following and folks are discovering it.
I just love how this movie resurfaced on everyone’s radar. My own relative thought I was insane to watch this movie, but when they watched it, they were hysterical.
I've seen this movie like 5x. It is flat out stupid funny! Thanks for reviewing
This was the movie that stopped me watching trailers. The trailer spoiled the entire movie. It showed every single important scene and I was pissed and vowed never to watch another trailer for a movie I had already decided to see. Now I only view trailers sparingly and only for movies that I'm unsure about to decide if I wanna watch.
This. Exactly this.
something ive started doing when watching trailers is reading the comments under it first. Usually people say if the trailer spoils anything :)
So glad you're doing this. One of my favorites. Gonna watch now. Thanks for sharing. Here we go!
One of my favorite horror comedies and you both had some of the best reactions!!
Good start to the day to wake up and see this!
This film is my go to to help me cheer up, love it
The best moment is when she lays out the whole premise of the movie at 12:13...lack of communication.
When this movie came out, I really didnt have much hope for it but gave it a chance because 1 friend insisted it was great.....and they were right.
One of my favorite comedy-horror films, had a great time watching it for the first time with friends a few years ago. Glad you guys enjoyed it as well.
This is one of my favorite movies and ya’ll are one of my favorite reactors. So glad you made this choice! I have so much fun watching you guys figure everything out.
Fun fact, the beer company of the brand drank by Dale and Tucker only gave them the 1 pack to use as product placement in the film.
I love this movie so, so much. It is quoted a lot in my house, lol. We've seen it many times
Yup, whenever something weird happens in our life, it's a safe bet that either me or my wife will at some point come out with "we've had a doozy of a day, officer" :-D
The movie scenes in this reaction were extremely well cut I think. It had all the important/funny scenes in it, many other reactions cut out way too much.
Great job!
Oh damn I love this movie! 😂I'm happy and a bit surprised this found it's way to your recommendations. xD
Don't know how they didn't make a sequel, I'd have loved to see a whole bunch of movies like Abbot and Costello did back in the day.
Tucker & Dale & Aly vs Good, maybe?
There was one in development but the script was, supposedly, terrible and the project was stopped. Last I heard anything was back in 2017
@@streeTkiDwannaBe Shame :(
tucker and dale is one of the funniest movies ever
You know, what's funny about the ending was that you guys also reacted the same way that the teens freaked out seeing everything from their perspective as to thinking that the guy at the end just "punched out" that chick instead of some coincidental freak accident like Tucker, Dale and Allison's situation that started everything lol
At this point there are like 1000 reaction channels and I have no interest in adding another one to my radar...
...but there's no way I can let a Tucker and Dale react go unwatched. "You guys, uh... GOING CAMPING?"
This movie...completely by accident...became my families Thanksgiving tradition.
I did not connect it until someone mentioned it yesterday when I was watching another reaction.
The cabin Tucker bought was Chad's dad's cabin. Look at the stuff in the cabin. Especially the newspaper clippings from the Memorial Day Massacre.
And, the sawmill probably had an industrial sized incinerator to get rid of detriment from the sawmill.....
Man, I love this movie; every once in a while my friend and I will have a couple of drinks and watch this. The way the college kids kill themselves accidentally are hilarious, my fav is the chainsaw & bees scene lol
I'm so glad you guys watched this, I friggin' love this movie! I was laughing right along with you guys, it was such a fun reaction.
Just realize Tucker is played by Alan Turdyk. Look so different in this movie
You gotta love it whenever someone who vaguely fits a category of someone else who wronged an individual is automatically judged by the individual who has harmed based on the actions of random person who is kind of in the same category this is the reason people suck
Glad you guys found this movie.....or that it was suggested to you. Alan Tudyk is one of my favorite comedic actors.
One of my favorit movies for sure!
I rented this movie when it first came out not knowing anything about it end up laughing my ass off.
This is probably the most underrated comedy-horror movie ever. HILARIOUS! If I may Ive got another amazingly funny comedy recommendation, it's called: Macgruber. This movie is HILARIOUS and you guys would have a really fun time reacting to it, if you haven't seen it. Super, super good, and I really hope you guys consider it. Thanks for the hilarious reaction!
I love how Chad just became the villian lmao and Dale was so sweet this is the best we need more comedy horror films,
I love this movie. I'm related to people like Tucker and Dale. I have a nephew that looks terrifying at first glance, but he's got a heart of gold.
This movie is straight up brilliant!
Made me laugh when you predicted someone jumping into the wood chipper. I enjoyed this video
This is near the top of my list of severely underrated comedies, along with MacGruber, Loaded Weapon and Popstar.
One of my favorite movies alive
before i start watching i have to say: you both + tucker and dale vs. evil sounds like a perfect combination...
i am sure i am not going to be disappointed :)
16:46 Love the dialogue
BJ took the wrong message from Dale's story. For the time being, Dale's going to enjoy the moment. Then, they'll go set BJ straight and help him with his soon to be girlfriend, and Diana will go on to become a great couples therapist. And after Tucker gets out of the hospital, they'll have a big wedding, where the trio has to fight evil again.
best line of the movie is alison saying "you're half hilbilly."
Two actors in this film were in Powers Rangers. The female reporter was in Lightspeed Rescue and one of the frat boys, the black guy,was in Power Rangers SPD.
Sooooooo excited to start this reaction lol. Yall will have a good time with this one
So glad you watched this one. I love this movie LOL
2:00 This is from the famous movie, "Deliverance". He says, "Squeal like a pig!" If you saw the movie, you would definitely appreciate the reference lol
You missed the best part. After the wood chipper shuts off, Tucker says “you ok?” Love this movie
Whaat, I was literally thinking about this movie for the first time in yeears this night...
Such a great reaction!! Awesome job guys.
"Texans be like."
🤣🤣🤣
2:04 squeal like a pig
It's a Deliverance reference
I love this movie, it's one of the best parody movies ever made.
OMG you guys you have no idea how much I needed this lol.......had THE WORST couple days and this had me DEAD LAUGHING...thanks
Dude... your laugh is infectious!! 🤣🤣🤣
Man i love when these two react to movies.
one of the funniest horror comedys out there
You should definitely check out Little Evil by the same director. It's just as good as Tucker & Dale.
Absolutely love this under rated gem!!! A few other great horror inspired comedies/parodies to check out, Mel Brooks's hilarious classic Young Frankenstein, Taika Waititi's vampire comedy What We Do in the Shadows, the third film in the evil dead franchise Army of Darkness chalked full of cheesy, campy goodness, as is the follow up series Ash vs Evil Dead, both starring the one and only Bruce Campbell, who also stars in 2 other great horror comedies, My Name is Bruce and Bubba Ho-Tep!!!
My Name Is Bruce is a gloriously great and bad movie... it is perfect! One of my favorites.
@@RedKytten Agree wholeheartedly, perfect blend of cheese, camp, self aware and self deprecating humor. And Bruce Campbell just hamming and cheesing it up, like only he can.
absolutely amazing reaction to this great movie! loved it!😊
2:05 - He said "Squeal like a pig!" It's a reference to the movie Deliverance where a group of men on a rafting trip run afoul of some hillbillies.
Wow, almost missed this video, this is one of my favorite movies, it isn't only funny, the message about communication is fantastic, most problems in the world are caused by miscommunication.
Fun movie (watched it myself several years ago) and fun reaction guys! Enjoyed it :D
He's crackling like a log! 🤣
I love Dale. So much. He's just so charming and sweet.
OH! OH! Another really good horror comedy is You Might Be The Killer on Shudder.
Alan Tudyk❤❤❤
Tyler Labine ( Dale) is in another horror comedy with Malin Ackerman called " Cottage Country" another misunderstanding gone wrong
Tucker and Dale was one of the best Horror comedies I've ever seen. Another great one is called "John Dies at the End".
A fav! Lol. In the BR, there is a cut of the film without the comedy that transforms it into a legit horror film.🤣
This movie was great and I loved your laughter!
Watched this when y'all upload it, just gotta say, REALLY loved this movie
This was the funniest reaction I’ve seen for a long time. Keep it up guys!
@@LeviBulger People's laughs are very diverse. Just because he doesn't laugh the way you do, or your friends do, doesn't mean you should make fun of it. It may seem strange to you because of what you've been exposed to, but in the grand scheme of things, it's really not that strange. I've heard many people with high-pitched laughs like that.
Some other similarly underrated horror movies like this are Wolf Copy w/ actor playing Chad as another bad guy, Zombeaver (Bill Burr has a very small part), and A Christmas Horror Story (William Shatner is a radio DJ), and Netflix made The Babysitter & its sequel. All good
Been enjoying the comedy reactions 👍
watch this and severance almost every Halloween great horrorcoms.
This movie does not get the recognition it truly deserves and till this day Im still sad about that
So the scene in the beginning where Dale has a suthe is probably an homage to the tv show that he acted in called "Reaper"
Just found y'all and been binging through content. Love the stuff. I like that y'all do a variety of shows too. Movies. Tv and Anime. Most people just choose one or 2 things.
The fact that you didn't recognize the phrase "squeal like a pig" tells me you need to watch Deliverance
I remember those two actors from final destination 😭
Fun fact: The bit where Dale is munching on the pickled eggs took a LOT of takes because his actor is actually disgusted by them lol
He said "Squeal like a pig" it's a DELIVERANCE reference
this movie shows natural selection at work lol.
At the beginning in the car Chad was saying “Squeal like a pig boy!” not squeal like a bitch. It’s a reference to the movie Deliverance starring Burt Reynolds where some guys are vacationing in the woods to go white water rafting and are attacked by hillbillies. Some of hillbillies attempt to rape one of the guys while yelling “squeal like a pig!” which just makes it so much more disturbing.
