Thank you for your videos :) I taught Alma 32 at a fhe last night and we talked about Christ is the seed also. My favorite thought was how every seed brings forth it's own likeness meaning that Christ will be brought forth in us and in our countenance as we make our testimony of him our highest priority. I think this is one of the things president Nelson was talking about when he said 'watch for miracles in your life' (in yourself too!). I brought along some seeds and soil and had everyone plant one in the same pot, then brought out my citrus plants at various stages of growth, and finally an orange!

So I had this experience last winter that I texted to a friend. Your conversation is prompting me to make a record of my experiences. Thank you.
I found a tall scraggly man at the gas station tonight sitting in his beater car crying. I asked how I could help him and he said he ruined all his relationships because of drugs and had been clean for a month but had lost everything. Someone had stole his truck and he had bought this car for 700 and it still had the sign in the back window. I asked if he would like a hug. He said yes. While I was hugging him he said “you’re a Christian, aren’t you” I said yes and he said “I know, I could feel it.”

I wish I had a particle of your enthusiasm! I love the church, I love the gospel, I have very strong faith in christ. I have felt the spirit and have had undeniable personal revelation. Have never questioned anything about the church. But I'm a lazy learner. I didn't like studying in school and I don't LOVE studying the scriptures although I do read every day and am good at that. But often times, I get so sleepy. If I'm not moving, I'm sleepy. Not sure what my problem is. But you motivate me to try harder. I would love your passion! Thank you for sharing it!

Oh don’t be so hard on yourself!! (I was a terrible student in school!) but the Lord loves effort and will bless you!! It’s like what President Nelson says “if you don’t yet love… (he says worshiping in the temple)… do it more not less” but I know that it works with studying too! 🥰
And I totally relate to getting sleepy!!! I have always been a tired person! 🤣

      You sound like me. Haha
It may be a medication you are taking. Don't stop reading. Maybe just read 5 verses and get up and do something then go back read 5 more, etc. I have to do things like that.

Alma 32 is one of my favorites and in my opinion, the most important scripture there is, because the scriptures speak of faith constantly. But where else do they teach you how to actually GROW your faith and gain a testimony? This chapter is the key to ALL spiritual truth, and it’s the answer to why SOOOOO many people who convert to mainstream Christianity, and in many cases, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, end up falling away. It’s not because they were never really saved, it’s because they didn’t nurture the seed.

I would also like to add to what you said about Alma saying you don’t need to be in the building to worship god…
I think it’s very important to recognize their circumstances. They were cast out of their synagogues for being poor. They were not allowed in their synagogues.
You brought up covid. I was inactive during Covid so I didn’t experience church during that time. However, the situation I believe is the same. People were not allowed to worship as a congregation in their church, so the church made accommodations for that based on the Lords guidance.
And just as we were not allowed to worship as a congregation during Covid, neither were the outcasts in Alma 32. I believe that just as Joseph Smith received the Kirkland Temple dedicatory prayer as revelation from the Lord, Alma probably received this speech directly from the Lord as well in order to instruct his faithful seekers who were forbidden from worshiping with the congregation. Although if I had to guess, the Lord probably intended for them to not be allowed in their synagogues seeing as the Zoramites were apostate. The poor people probably would not have HEARD Alma if they had been allowed in their synagogues because they would be indoctrinated with false teachings. Just like we see with many people today.
I didn’t mean to ramble this long, I apologize 😂

You either have eternal life or you do not. It is not "gained."
