My top five favorite box that would have to be my top five favorite box sets that I have are good rocking tonight the 75th anniversary which includes all of the Elvis Presley‘s essential classic songs by Burnin love Aaliyah version of unchained melody which is great. Number four it is going to be journey times three it’s a wonderful three CD box set it covers all of the music of journey from when they were the Golden Gate rhythm machine before Steve Perry joined the group and not only does this awesome three CDs that have some studio performances but a couple of live performances as well I had never heard journey life before open till I got this box set it has some great songs like the live version of love and touch and squeeze in wheels in the sky and awesome classic songs. another album my love is Fleetwood Mac 25 years the chain that is a really good for CD set and I love the fact, that you get to hear the early Fleetwood Mac before Stevie Nicks and Lindsay Buckingham joined the group and has some great songs like go your own way over my head song bird done by the late great Christine the period this is a really nice box set The fourth CD set is in a big fat jeweled case any other one of my favorite box setIs going to be a very fantastic Box Set by Marty Robbins called under westerns guys done by one of my all time favorite record companies they do such great box that I’m talking about the German record company called Bear family records The wonderful thing about this for CD set as you get the early recordings the recordings of Marty Robbins from the late 1950s up until his last recording ever in the 80s. here are my top five favorite box sets of all time Number five it is going to be a career retrospective which I love I could go to number six if I wanted to, but one of my favorite box sets is 35th anniversary by Smokey Robinson and The Miracles it is a wonderful for CD set and has such great classic songs, like the tracks of my tears tears of a clown, I got a job which is an answer to the song called get a job by the silhouette from 1959. I love the fact that is wonderful for CD set covers Smokey Robinson and The Miracles career from when they did some early doo-wop stuff up until Smokey Robinson’s had one heartbeat which has always been one of my favorite songs of all time. and I love the fact that there are so many songs on it 97 in all it’s a fantastic set number four is Elvis Presley the wonderful for CD box set which is called good rocking tonight 75th anniversary edition it has 100 fabulous songs I absolutely love it’s a great one covering Elvis Presley‘s career from his first recording all the way up to his last which was moody blue and also the box that ends with a little less conversation remix and it even has a live version of unchained melody which is great there are some live performances on there. I know Elvis Presley has a bunch of box sets out there but this Hass to be one of my favorites of all time. that would be number four and number three another box that I love is called Times three by journey what an amazing three CD set which covers journeys early stuff before Steve Perry Donatt also goes up to the raised on radio error.
It’s a really good box that although it doesn’t have the comeback song when you love a woman on it. I love the fact that there’s three CDs that include some live performances by Journey which is a fantastic album and there’s one box that I think you should get as an honorable mention do you have the box set called live by Fleetwood Mac it is really cool, because you get the three CDs and a double LP of Fleetwood Mac performing live from the 1970s. I love it it’s a great one and you can hear Stevie Nicks singing and a much higher key than she does nowadays. The next box that is called the chain 25 years it’s a wonderful for CD set of Fleetwood Mac coming from the early days with Peter Green up until I think some songs from the say you Will album and it has great songs like on your own way over my head, big laugh which is one of my favorites my favorite version of that one is the live version it’s a fantastic version I love the fact that the box at 25 years the chain is a career retrospective of their music and Fleetwood Mac has such great music even though we lost Christine McPhee her music will live on. my second favorite box that I am a huge fan of this awesome legendary guitar player and the name of this box set it’s called deep in the heart of twangs Ville by Dwayne Eddie it goes from 1960 up until 1962 when Dwayne Eddie was very popular at that time I love the fact that you get to have such a classic songs like I’m twisting a really working on that dominoes I’m walking, then you get to here instrumental versions of songs like peppermint twist the twist Wildwood flower among others by my all-time favorite record company bear family recordsIf you haven’t gotten any albums any box sets I highly recommend that you check out their family records and their wonderful catalog of CD box sets there’s even a Ricky Nelson Box Set called American dream the complete imperial recordings I don’t have that one yet, but there are a bunch of flowers that I love it because not only do you get to hear the regular studio stuff but you get to hear a bunch of outtakes, and there is a box that called Roy Roy Orbison. The Duane Eddy box set is a five CD set which is a fantastic album a great CD set full of great music. And the number one box sets I say box sets because these two are very essential and I’m talking about the Beatles instereo and the Beatles in mono which were both released on September 9, 2009 The sound quality is good it is much improved than the 1987 versions of all the Beatles albums and you talk about the bands catalog represented here I think those two boxes are the best because you get to hear how the Beatles album sounded back in the 1960s, and I love the fact that the Beatles have different mixes both in stereo and mono. for example you hear the mistake on please please me when John Lennon sings the wrong words in the stereo mix which was one of the outtakes before the final one mixed in mono. and I love the fact that you get a DVD of many documentaries of how the albums were made with a bunch of really great chatter and outtakes which are very fantastic indeed that is really cool and I love the fact that in the mono box setApple managed to replicate all of the Beatles fantastic artwork with a very high quality paper sleeves and a wonderful sound quality and I am a huge remix guy I love what Giles Martin did to the Beatles album so far in the back catalog. those are my top five bucks that and if you don’t have the Smokey Robinson and the miracles for CDs that call 35th anniversary I highly recommend that one along with all the other ones that I mentioned.

Hi Brendon!! those are amazing boxsets.... have not seen before Def Leppard and the Police ones, but whish the good times when the cd came in jewelcases like that awesome GrandFunk one with all the extra goodies too and killer packaging. cheers

All the Def Leppard albums are still available on jewel cases. In fact Def Leppard is one band to never use the digipak except now in boxsets. Still they come completely protected in the boxes.

Wish I would've know about that Police box set. Recently picked up the last two studio albums that I didn't have in my collection. Oh well...I'd be interested to know if there are any standout tracks on that other disc in the set. Keep up the good work, Brendon!

The disc Flexible Strategies is a good listen with some fun tracks but none that scream classic. Perhaps one day they will release it as a stand alone album. Actually I’m surprised they haven’t already.

@@BrendonSnyder ah you’ve come around to like them, eh? Terrific. Obviously you’ve gotta be in the mood for them, but 9/10 when I want to chill out I reach for my pilots of purple twilight or In Search of Hades set and dive in.
The remastered versions are the best you can get. Way better than the 1995 editions :)

No a clamshell style is attached at one side and opens like a book. This is a lift top box because the lid is separate.

I got the "MODE" boxset for about 200 euros... The only item I ever came across in a record shop... Right before it was out of print everywhere. I'm so glad I made that decision that day ! The last Bowie boxset, "Brilliant Adventure", is done the same way as the one you present here. Really nice packaging and information on the albums ! Thank you for telling what you chose to do with the plastic sleeve that's in there. I was thinking about it ! Why did they give two sleeves for each album...

@@melprophet1936 to be honest, it was already expensive for what it is, IMO. .. I had already all the tracks here and there. But as a DM fan, I couldn't resist. The prices have gone crazy, but I hope some day you will get it.

I lucked out because it went out of print 2 days after it was released. But because I had preordered it Amazon honored it and found one. It took more than 6 months but they came through. In the meantime I saw the price range from $600 to $900 on eBay.

I have an original 1974 “Shine On” album with the 3-D glasses and poster. My uncle bought it way back in the day and I used to listen to it over and over. Needless to say that “Shine On” got me into Grand Funk.

Wow, that last boxed set of Depeche Mode is really nicely designed. You got a good deal on that. I don't own too many CD box sets. I have Springsteen's "Tracks," and a couple of Motown ones which are two discs each and have all the singles on them by the various artists, and I have a DVD boxed set of the Live Aid shows from 1985. Last week when my son and I were at Sunrise Records, my son says, "Hey dad, look at that!" Behind the counter was this huge box that looked like a chest of drawers, or rather an armoir, I think they call it, all black with a sculpture of the cover of Guns & Roses Appetite for Destruction on the front. The guy says, "Oh yeah, that's the Guns & Roses collection. It sells for $1400!" He opened it up and the two front doors swing open, and inside are all these other drawers and things which I assume hold all sorts of CDs and books and stuff. Myself, I didn't know they had that much good material to make up such a collection, but I guess if you're a big fan, it's the ultimate one to get.
