Interesting to hear about the similarities and differences between the Netherlands and the US.

What a treat Evening Reader. Maybe your ears were burning because I was talking about you to my daughter. I was telling her about your charming personality and playful style in your videos. This brings me lots of joy and make me smile. On a more serious note, the far right is definitely having a moment worldwide. We will all have to stay vigilant. I have enjoyed Blackwater Rising by Attica Locke. I will definitely continue reading her novels . I have a few books by S.A Cosby from library sales so there is that. 📚📚📚📚 Enjoying Austerlitz by W.G. Sebald currently and reading a daily chapter from On Tyranny #1 Do not obey in Advance. (so much for my light reading plans 🤪. As always good to see you and I am glad you are enjoying Magpie Murders. MoonFlower Murders with some of the same characters is out too I believe. Be well, my friend.

Marcia, you are going heavy! Thank you so much for those kind words. I am always happy to see you here! I enjoyed the Cosby, but I didn't like it as much as any of Attica Locke's books. I was sort of disappointed that Magpie Murders was just a short show and not going to continue, so maybe I will have to pick up MoonFlower Murders when I need something cozy and funny. I hope you are taking care.

I just finished Blacktop Wasteland this past week and absolutely loved it! It was my first book by SA Cosby and I’m eager to read more 📚

Wicked Little Letters was a delight. Such a good cast.

I forgot about Wicked Little Letters! I meant to watch that when it came out. We are enjoying the new season of Somebody Somewhere. Tricia has a new line of pillows for Christmas that we all need this year.
Ooh! I want to read the new Attica Locke.
I'm low on juice, too. That's all I got!

Wicked Little Letter is so fun! We're trying to wait for all episodes of Somebody Somewhere before we watch, but I might cave and start watching them. I know I'll watch it multiple times. Did you see they had a petition for season four? We need it!

@EveningReader I'd sign that petition! I love this show and everyone in the cast.

Magpie Murders is a nice comfort watch isn’t it. It was filmed in a village near where I live in Suffolk. There’s a follow up series airing here tomorrow called Moonflower Murders.
I would love to hear more about your life in Amsterdam and what drew you there!

Oh, there is a new series! Yay! I will keep my eye out for it. It's lovely in your area.

Since the US election results, I continue to read only light books. For example, on Nov. 19th I’ll be grabbing a copy of “Cher: The Memoir, Part One.” Cher’s life has been so full that it requires two volumes! As the publishing blurb says, “It is a life too immense for only one book.”

MJ, I saw some excerpts from an interview she did with Anthony Mason on CBS This Morning and must admit that's one I'd love to read. I hope you are well!

@@EveningReader Just finished the Cher book and look forward to part two in the spring. What interested me the most was her mother's crazy life. That's a book in itself.

We should hang out while you're in Dallas! The logistics are complicated for me, now, though. I don't drive anymore.
I read a book by SA Cosby last year and didn't much like it. I need to give him another chance, though.

Randy, I would love to get a chance to meet up, but we won't make it up to Denton this time. I will probably be back in the spring, though, and will plan on it! I ended up liking the Cosby, but it wasn't my favorite and I didn't quite get the hype.

@EveningReader That sounds good. I'm hoping to be fully mobile again by spring. I'm also going to go to Robert E
Howard Days in Cross Plains in June.

@EveningReader That's a good way of describing my feelings about Cosby-- I just don't get the hype.

I’ve been wanting to read S.A. Cosby but just haven’t gotten there yet. I’m curious to hear about expat life if others care to, but in my situation it’s extremely unlikely that I could conceive of such a move for myself.

David, if you're at all interested, I'd recommend picking up the Attica Locke series before S. A. Cosby. It was good but started to feel an awful lot like it was built to be a script. Not a bad thing--just not my thing.
