are you ever thinking of sharing the build. I'll admit, Salvo I think is a cool overclock, but I don't tent to use it that much and I don't really know how to use it effectively.
I had a moment of shame when the video after I recommended the Hurricane with salvo module is taylor struggling with salvo Hurricane. I know that you probably have some backlog, but still! Glad to hear you figured out how to shotgun missile properly 😂
im sorry to say, but it is not hard coded that the plagueheart is only in the last little meteorite. its just that classic luck you guys have that gives you 4 bulk detonators in one mission
Y'all are still wrong, they can have from 1-6, there is guaranteed 1 plagueheart, with each one after having at least something like a 2-3% chance to have one.
There’s no way that taylor is still running the channel if we just got 3 gunner videos in a row (in regards to DRG related videos. I enjoyed the terraria video)
0:38 Both the "Do not let me cook: The kitchen is on fire" and "I don't want to talk about it" are jaw dropping The fact he doesn't even want to mention the headspace he was in when cooking this masterpiece up is something very special
It makes me happier to know I'm not the only one who made an absolutely abhorrent salvo build i nicknamed it "the melee build" and gave myself the dumbest cosmetics possible to match
i think i know why gamma couldnt destroy the turret fast with melee attacks and sliceman doesnt believe its a real thing its because gamma was the one trying to do it
Foreshadowing is a literary device used to hint at the events to come. Exhibit A: 8:36 "We got this" *Pause, silence for a good second or two, unpause.* That pause told me everything I needed to know.
Fun fact. Not only is melee super effective against turrets, you can also destroy them instantly by digging them up. Driller is very effective against them for this very reason
given that repulsion turrets have 600hp and you do 25 hp per pickaxe swing, double that to 50 for the weakness, you get roughly 12 swings to kill a repulsion turret not counting hazard/player multipliers to damage resistance. so 4 players haz 5, yeah anna "abusing it's weakness" for that long IS accurate. but one power attack with the upgrade would do 240, or 480 with weakness. if she just left clicked while right clicking it could've died really easily. lord help me i really tried to explain the events of a DRG video. EDIT: For clarity on how much health that actually is, the normal praetorian has 750hp at base. those repulsion turrets have roughly 4/5th the health of one of those green fatso's.
If you guys don't know, dropping a driller's C4 in its head can hit all 4 vents at once and two shot the phase fairly reliably. Great way to massively speed up the fight. Fatboy can do the same thing though it's a bit less easy to do
One of my friends also done it with a c4 and some of the HE grenades to keep as much c4s as possible incase the driller needs the pod nodes for health and only carries 2 satchels. Albeit ive actually started taking neurotoxin onto sabo where ill chuck a neuro into a pack of turrets and det it with flamethrower
@@nameisnttaylor If you go 312x (I just go 3123), you can practically skip the phase with just 2 satchel charges. Just dig yourself a little space above the caretaker, call in like 2 resups and you're good. Also you can run the sludge pump instead of flamethrower, since if you charge shot the top of the caretaker it will usually damage her eye, which means you don't have to run around to hit it. You'll be missing out on the fire damage bonus, but it's still worth it imo.
2:19 -The turrets are vulnerable to melee, but the basic pickaxe attack only does 27.5 damage per hit. So, in most cases, you can deal similar damage with a firearm from a safer distance. However: The caretaker's robotic tentacles and sniper turrets suffer 6x melee damage. making the basic pickaxe attack deal 165 damage.
I both can hold in a sneeze (uncomfortable experience) and crack my back regularly. I have never encountered correlation between the two things. Your group is broadcasting from an asylum. Increasing your fire rate allows salvo mod to rack missiles much faster, which makes it much more versatile and less 'sitting here with a barrage finally ready after my team kills all the enemies' instead. I would advise you to try it. Also try volatile bullets and weakpoint damage on the Bulldog with any incendiary primary build, or with a CRISPR driller, as it does funny things to enemies like detonators and praetorians.
As always the editing and especially captioning on these videos is crisp and fantastic. The way the thoughts and details of the build was presented was great, and I especially like the bracket clarification at 2:48. Why do I like it so much? I don't know and I wish I could tell you but all I can say is that it feels very professional and the effort really shows. Thank you for making these Taylor.
You already got answers, but I didn't see anyone mention this. You are GUARANTEED to get at least one plagueheart during the small meteor event. And then an additional 10% per meteor for another plagueheart.

Salvo is awesome. It's what I was using until I got my sweet sweet Jetfuel Homebrew. I typically go for explosive damage on it and to make it more adaptable the weakspot damage boost. The rest I flip flop around a wee bit depending on the situation.
I've gotten a plagueheart out of a meteor, within view of another intact meteor when there was only one meteor shower that mission. That being said, it might be coded to get more likely the more meteors you crack, because I usually only find it after cracking most of the ones from any given asteroid shower.
on the question of lithophage meteors: one of them is set to have a guaranteed core, while others only have 3% chance of having them (so it's theoretically possible to get 4 cores outta this mini-event, but the chance would be 0.0027% for that) it's like egg mission: with 4, 6 and 8 you have 1, 2 and 3 eggs set to trigger a swarm, while others only summon a group which meteor/eggs are "booby-trapped"? i dunno, it's random, so all of this is just a useless data

Said this on discord but I'll say it here as well as a caretaker mission person and a gunner main 1.) Prepare the terrain via engineer, gunner, and driller, make sure the terrain is even and runnable enough so that you can be mobile and you won't get stuck when running from the repulsion blasts, and use ziplines to let your driller or engineer get to the top of the caretaker to 1-3 shot the shield phase 2.) Never underestimate the ziplines on caretaker battles, they allow you to move around the arena via utilizing the 5 degree angle speed boost 3.) Drop 3-4 supply pods at each direction of the caretaker after prepping the arena, this let's each player have their own designated supply pod that they can retreat to 4.) The tentacles get destroyed immediately after one power attack (Or maybe that's because I have the power attack damage mod) 5.) As a gunner, when you're surrounded, you're not trapped with them, they're trapped with you. Drop a shield and start blasting in all directions, they can't get to you and you're free to fire on them liberally or reposition yourself somewhere else. Remember that your shield repels glyphids so you can put it on chokepoints to buy yourself time to move someplace more favorable 6.) You're salvo module build is an abomination but it's fixable with the proper mods 6.) Never neglect your tools, the shield and the zipline are underrated but every gunner main swears by it. The mobility chair might be slow but slow and steady wins the race. 7.) When falling from great distances, hold E. If there's a Zipline, Pipe rail, or a Flying angel, you can save yourself from falling by holding E and landing on those, you don't have to spam the button and just hold it 8.) Gunners are the true support class, we just have big guns But yeah, from the Asian side of DRG we salute you (Also would love to see y'all on community days on your discord)
@@nameisnttaylor also i would recommend 2 2 3 the recharge time isnt that important since the duration makes up for it and if you have a larger area its better for the team and honestly never tried lasting effect so it might be better but who knows

I'm about the same rank as you and I don't even touch Haz 5, and even with this awful build, I think the difficulty is your biggest enemy. It does make for very entertaining content though, I'm enjoying your channel a lot 😁
oh brother, with more overclocks and build options, it will not be long til you get numb by haz4's difficulty, and start craving more "interesting" gameplay it sure will be a wild ride, be sure to enjoy every second of it!
I made a fuller auto shotgun build for engi. I have the overclock that increase fire rate, then I decided it’s not fast enough, so i modded it for fire rate too. chews through ammo though :/
The sneeze thing isn't normal. I don't know what the vinegar pizza incident is (I've definitely heard about it and I'm thankful I forgot) but I think it's like that. Also to be fair, the burst pistol secondary is quite good with high damage output upgrades, I use it to supplement the neurotoxin or fire DOTs from the gunner primaries! It would definitely help as well because I think it feels like it does more direct damage to the caretaker's weak spots than an explosive round would.
Fun fact: you can kill the caretaker with only Bosco and a pickaxe. The main issue being that bosco doesn’t attack the caretaker, so you either have to wait for missiles or go melee it. And it’s heavily arena dependent l.
Hello. I want to tell my experience with meteors: some time earlier I also have to break every meteor to find a rockpox in the last one. BUT, five last times, when I face the meteor fragments, it was always in THE FIRST one. Sooo, I think, it's just random))
I'd like to make myself believe that planet Earth turns slowly It's hard to say that I'd rather stay awake when I'm asleep 'Cause everything is never as it seems
5:30 Holding your sneeze could cause Middle ear infection Damaged blood vessels Ruptured eardrum Brain aneurysm Diaphragm injury Throat damage or rupture Broken ribs Hearing loss Vertigo Of course these these won’t happen every time you hold one, but I’ve see. It happen once.
At first I saw the build and thought - a normal build. Then I saw the mission - oooooh. Not the best solution in this situation)))) As usual - thank you for the wonderful video, which I watched with great pleasure before going to bed)
Every small meteor has a 2% chance of containing a plagueheart, unless it's the last one and none dropped yet, then it's guaranteed. So yes it is somehow both your bad luck and a mechanic. Of course, then there's also the fact one stops looking after finding what one's looking for so it's always in the last place you look regardless...
3:00 your luck is just bad, not only can any of the meteor shards randomly contain a plague heart, you have a chance to get more than one from any given meteor shard event. Source: happened to me the other day, 1 is guaranteed and there is a 2% chance for the rest, according to the wiki
Try overclockless/clean Hurricane. I find it to be the strongest of Gunner's clean/Oc-less weapons. Also definitely take leadbursters to kill bulks, because they resist explosive damage on the hurricane. All the mods are fine except tier 2b armor break being kind of lackluster compared to the increased velocity mod, and tier 5a heat outright nerfing your damage to slowly light enemies on fire (which feels bad in general). I always take stun on tier 5 because I have never noticed the benefit of Nitroglycerin. Additionally, stun helps keep you safe from mactera, praetorians, stingtails & menace. Whilst stopping any bugs creeping up on you, allowing for greater crowd control. The weakpoint buff mod only increases direct damage, so its more like a more moderate 25% damage up rather than an absurd 50%. Still ok, but the area damage mod lets you do 20% more area damage, which is way more powerful than direct damage. So probably take the area damage mod instead. But it may be better on elimination or sabotage to take the weakpoint mod. I don't like any of the Hurricane OCs that don't let you control missile flight. They severely hurt your range/accuracy, which is the main advantage the hurricane has vs the autocannon.
overtuned&improved feed mechanism is literally one of my most favourite combinations - so fast, so hasty, so *horrifyingly effective,* and yet so precise and flexible not saying anything bad against rocket barrage, i just prefer the OG rocket hailstorm more
the only really questionable thing on that salvo build is the tier 5. apart from that, mostly understandable picks. But the tier 5 is doing pretty much nothing.
Lets be honest- any gunner on a caretaker mission will be something between "useless" and "wdym your shield is on recharge". Any build will do. Even a trash one. You just run around being a medic. Unless your Engy forgot to equip fatboy. And you have sludge/freeze driller on your team with cavedigging C4 Oh boy
2:52 No, it is not coded that way... you are just unlucky... But since we're on the topic of meteor spikes, might as well mention this: There is a 100% chance for one of the several fallen meteor shards to contain a plagueheart. What many people may not know, however, is that there is an ADDITIONAL 2% chance PER fragment to contain an extra plagueheart. Hypothetically, you could get 7 shards that all contain a plagueheart. I've gotten 3 plaguehearts a couple times before, so it is always worth breaking a fragment when you see it-- despite the odds not being in your favor --if you're on the plagueheart grind still or have little else to invest that time into. That being said, not only are you unlucky for getting plaguehearts on the last shards... you're unlucky enough to break every other shard before it and fail the 2% chance on each of those as well.
It wasn't a glyphid, btw. Most likely a Lahrak, a Rahkshi of Confusion, judging by the effects of long-term exposure she's had on your merry little band.
I just tried this overclock. Big meh. It's an inferior Sludge Blast. Plasma Burster missiles, now THOSE are fun, especially on bosses. Not sure how great they work on Caretaker, though.
I really enjoy watching y’all, but me and my girlfriend got drunk and she passed out, and now I’m outside letting her sleep and I discovered I REALLY enjoy watching y’all while drunk. You’re hilarious when sober, y’all are debilitatingly funny when drunk
You know the one thing wrong with is I see is taking the bigger magazine over the rate of fire and possibly you taking area damage over weak point bonus
@@teecee1827 If it didn’t have that huge dmg penalty it would be half decent. But that plus no guidance makes killing stuff so painfully slow, its literally worse than having no OC. I don’t find anything fun about that personally
Taylor, I gotta be honest. This ain't it. This is cursed. I know that's the point but like... it kinda hurts me man :( Maybe my inner shotgun nerd is crying, idk. ANYWAYS good video man love it :3
not gonna lie, the missile launcher is the worst weapon for me, i rly hate using it. the gimmick of having to constantly point to an enemy until the missile lands gets rly annoying as time goes on, not to talk about how ammo inefficient it is most of the time (maybe it's better with plasma burster or mine layer OCs, but those are just not my playstyle, especially plasma burster seems incredibly hard to use).
Your luck with meteor plague hearts really is that bad. Sniper turrets always die to one pickaxe power attack. All rival tech (except Nemesis and Caretaker's main body) are weak to melee attacks (I just don't recommend doing so to burst turrets). And yes, that Gunner build is bad (pairing it with Inferno for Coilgun would make it somewhat better on Industrial Sabotage, but it would still be not great).
it's actually good against burst turrets - considering that to evade its shots you just meed to take a step to the left, and it's a free 2/3 damage wouldn't recommend going any near the push turrets though - they are one of the most infuriating things to deal with up close

It does make for very entertaining content though, I'm enjoying your channel a lot 😁
thank you!
oh brother, with more overclocks and build options, it will not be long til you get numb by haz4's difficulty, and start craving more "interesting" gameplay
it sure will be a wild ride, be sure to enjoy every second of it!
Honestly I suggest "Plasma Burster Missiles", I play haz5 most of the time and god damn can I do a lot of damage with it.
i'd love to try that once i unlock it
Damn the amount of interactions on your videos is insane, 3/4 of all viewers so far liked this one
hell yeah!
I made a fuller auto shotgun build for engi. I have the overclock that increase fire rate, then I decided it’s not fast enough, so i modded it for fire rate too. chews through ammo though :/
Hope you recover emotionally, financially, physically from the corrupted footage incident
thank you, maybe one day
The sneeze thing isn't normal.
It would definitely help as well because I think it feels like it does more direct damage to the caretaker's weak spots than an explosive round would.
dude complete your armor mods
you get +5hp for collecting them instead of paintjobs like on weapons
just did it! thank you for the tip, friend
3:00 for me, i got the impression that the 1st landed meteorite had the heart in it
Fun fact: you can kill the caretaker with only Bosco and a pickaxe. The main issue being that bosco doesn’t attack the caretaker, so you either have to wait for missiles or go melee it. And it’s heavily arena dependent l.
no one I know holds a sneeze to crack their back, you can however have a sneeze followed by a burp at the same time
I think with the metorite plaguehearts, that happens when all the others failed to spawn one, so the last one is a guaranteed spawn.
Enough nitra for three resupplies is not enough on a caretaker mission.
I disagree, not everyone plays on hazard 5......
@@themanwithnoname1839 Including me.
Dont hold your sneezes in, that can pop blood vessels
Hello. I want to tell my experience with meteors: some time earlier I also have to break every meteor to find a rockpox in the last one. BUT, five last times, when I face the meteor fragments, it was always in THE FIRST one. Sooo, I think, it's just random))
Can't believe the bot griefed you that bad.
i can't either to be honest
I got jumpscared by the mention of vinegar pizza. Forgot that happened.
I'd like to make myself believe that planet Earth turns slowly

@@nameisnttaylor a small price to pay for a popped spine
I can confirm its your bad luck i get plague hearts on the first one almost every time
7:55 I meaaannn...... I would be to, gets you wondering how good he uses his hands for something else.
NOO! NOT HACK-C!
@@nameisnttaylor Gotta make me a pizza with those skilled hands.
At first I saw the build and thought - a normal build.
Then I saw the mission - oooooh. Not the best solution in this situation))))
As usual - thank you for the wonderful video, which I watched with great pleasure before going to bed)
i'm glad you enjoyed it! thanks for giving it a watch
You can have good luck of getting the meteors plague heart first, or have awful luck of it being last.
Every small meteor has a 2% chance of containing a plagueheart, unless it's the last one and none dropped yet, then it's guaranteed. So yes it is somehow both your bad luck and a mechanic.
Of course, then there's also the fact one stops looking after finding what one's looking for so it's always in the last place you look regardless...
interesting truth spoken...
My luck is surprisingly really good in the Gane I've gotten at least 2 lithophage fragments from the meteorites
you lucky lucky individual
3:00 you can actually get more then 1 of em out of the small ones luck is just not kind to you guys because it is very much random
It’s a 2% chance per meteor to get an extra one (besides the guarantee) iirc
NO! WAY! well thanks for telling me
Holy shit we gettin spoiled by dad here lately!
WE UPLOADING!
Oh crap I literally use salvo module aswell I need burning hell overclock so bad 😭

They severely hurt your range/accuracy, which is the main advantage the hurricane has vs the autocannon.
i appreciate all he tips! very sound information and reasoning
overtuned&improved feed mechanism is literally one of my most favourite combinations - so fast, so hasty, so *horrifyingly effective,* and yet so precise and flexible
not saying anything bad against rocket barrage, i just prefer the OG rocket hailstorm more
the only really questionable thing on that salvo build is the tier 5. apart from that, mostly understandable picks. But the tier 5 is doing pretty much nothing.
your luck is just abysmal i almost always get the heart in the first spike
that hurricane OC slaps against dreads
hell yeah
Lets be honest- any gunner on a caretaker mission will be something between "useless" and "wdym your shield is on recharge".
Any build will do. Even a trash one.
You just run around being a medic.
Unless your Engy forgot to equip fatboy.
And you have sludge/freeze driller on your team with cavedigging C4
Oh boy
better than me even trying to be good at the game though
i do like how you basically picked the worst option for every mod for salvo
i know right. like literally every single one
Holy freakin bingle more Taylor content to boof up to
HIT THAT MF
2:52 No, it is not coded that way... you are just unlucky...
But since we're on the topic of meteor spikes, might as well mention this:
There is a 100% chance for one of the several fallen meteor shards to contain a plagueheart.
That being said, not only are you unlucky for getting plaguehearts on the last shards... you're unlucky enough to break every other shard before it and fail the 2% chance on each of those as well.
one day my luck will improve...
@@nameisnttaylor your track record argues otherwise...
Bruh. I left a comment theorizing what kind of bug Anna was and youtube deleted it.
they silenced you
It wasn't a glyphid, btw.
Not sure how great they work on Caretaker, though.
fair enough honestly
abissmal luck with the plagueharts. ive had it in the very first one multiple times
brutal...

Meteor? I hardly know her!
You know the one thing wrong with is I see is taking the bigger magazine over the rate of fire and possibly you taking area damage over weak point bonus
yeah i made a sizeable amount of mistakes
@@nameisnttaylor could always be worse. Like taking the fire mod to a dreadnought mission
I mean that overclock is on the better side of overclocks for the hurricane
i love the overclock! the footage in the intro and outro is me using it in a solo deep dive (along with better gear modifications) just last night.
Only bad OC hurricane has is Rocket Barrage imo (and thats by a wide margin)
@@cherryrook8684but rocket barrage is fun. Not optimal but fun.
it's actually one of - as some people call them - a secrect clean overclocks
becouse it doesn't have any downsides if you don't hold the attack button
@@teecee1827 If it didn’t have that huge dmg penalty it would be half decent. But that plus no guidance makes killing stuff so painfully slow, its literally worse than having no OC. I don’t find anything fun about that personally
Taylor, I gotta be honest. This ain't it. This is cursed. I know that's the point but like... it kinda hurts me man :(
Maybe my inner shotgun nerd is crying, idk.
ANYWAYS good video man love it :3
thank you! yeah it was NOT. GOOD. glad you enjoyed duker
not gonna lie, the missile launcher is the worst weapon for me, i rly hate using it. the gimmick of having to constantly point to an enemy until the missile lands gets rly annoying as time goes on, not to talk about how ammo inefficient it is most of the time (maybe it's better with plasma burster or mine layer OCs, but those are just not my playstyle, especially plasma burster seems incredibly hard to use).
completely fair! it's a special case
2:00 that lootbug did not deserve to eat all of those rockets, was the little guy that hungry??/
wow i really did shoot that lootbug with nine missiles
So you can melee the robots, it was just a skill issue with her only
Your luck with meteor plague hearts really is that bad.
Sniper turrets always die to one pickaxe power attack.
All rival tech (except Nemesis and Caretaker's main body) are weak to melee attacks (I just don't recommend doing so to burst turrets).
And yes, that Gunner build is bad (pairing it with Inferno for Coilgun would make it somewhat better on Industrial Sabotage, but it would still be not great).
thank you for confirming my fears...
it's actually good against burst turrets - considering that to evade its shots you just meed to take a step to the left, and it's a free 2/3 damage
wouldn't recommend going any near the push turrets though - they are one of the most infuriating things to deal with up close
