Hey brother. I lived in Tokyo in 2018 and would often explore the city alone, thinking there was something wrong with me. Watching this video lets me know I'm not the only one who did this and reminds me how fun it actually was. Thank you
Nothing wrong with solo exploration! I visited Tokyo as a tourist in 2019 and spent 2 weeks wandering around the city by myself. It was one of the best times in my life :) Also, people say that being able to be alone (but not lonely) and liking your own company is a sign of a strong character :)
I've been living in and around Tokyo for years, but I didn't even know that Tokyo had trams. Now I need to seek them out 🙂 Your videos are truly amazing. The cinematography is beyond just about anything I've seen on RUclips. You capture the feeling of exploring Tokyo so well. Like other people commenting here, I just can't stop watching either. Keep up the good work!
Your cinematography is something out of this world I swear. I was having an anxiety episode and this video calmed me down so much. Your silent vlogs are something that youtube needs more of. I'm subbing right away. Keep up the good work!!
Been 2 years since my last travel to Japan. The goal is to travel Japan yearly. Due to this pandemic, that was not possible and hope it will soon. Been watching travel vlog and then I discover your channel. Now I'M HOOKED. Been binge watching for 2 days now. Youre videos are so calming and relaxing and making me want to travel Japan more.
This is my neighborhood! I take my daughter to Asukayama Park a couple of times a week. Thank you for visiting our corner of Tokyo, and for capturing it so beautifully. It was a nice surprise to see on a channel I admire so much.
Your videos, which are perfected enough to please and left imperfect enough to feel real, have been reminding me of a month-long holiday that I took with my mother some years ago to Japan; it was probably the happiest period of my life. Though I'm not much of a nipponophile, my heart has always felt at home in your country. Please continue to make videos!
This was so fun to see Oji again , we were just there May last day we did the park above the little cable car , it was a nice park , love your videos , so nice without all the needless talking , you have a great eye for the details , we look forward to more Thank you
Thank you for this beautiful and precious video! In 2018, i took the tram just to get a glimpse of the rose bush along the railway and brought my children to Arakawa Yuen. Then we went to Minowa to enjoy traditional shopping experience. I really love the peaceful atmosphere... I hope to see more of your videos..it is so relaxing and soothing.
@Mekm Bb it a bit sad living alone but because I don't have enough money . And i think I'm not a good looking person to find a partner and start my own family. Also I prefer having a good looking partner but they do not like me.
I used to travel to Japan every year... last time in 2019. Now when it's impossible, I can at least appreciate this video... its not /about/ Tokyo, /it is/ Tokyo. The tempo and details remind me of wandering alone when time is not important. Thank you for putting me in this summer vacation mood.
New to this channel and I love it already! When I saw Waseda university, I immediately thought of Norwegian Wood. Can't wait to visit the museum when I visit Japan again. Thank you for sharing! ❤
I am in love with the whole vibe of this video. The sights and sounds, the colors, the atmosphere, the neighborhood. I would go walking everyday if I lived there. I'm also single in my 30s and I wish my country was at least half as beautiful and clean as Japan, so I can enjoy long walks like these.
Literature, music, cinematography, scenery, people, life. Everything feels so quiet and interesting. Thank you for this video and for all your other videos.
I actually booked my Airbnb in Otsuka because it was by the Sakura tram. I was supposed to be there last year and pushed it to this September. Hoping I will be able to come because I love old streetcars and planned to ride the whole line to explore. Beautiful video that makes me miss Japan more and more, but in a good way. Thank you!
I’m an introvert, too, and planning to take my solo trip to Japan in September. Thank you for making these videos, It’s nice to know there are other people like me.
You are giving me a peace of mind on this video. I can't thank you enough by featuring these 2 novelists. I really admire you for being adept to some greatest literature.
I love your videos and this channel! Everything you do, the editing, filming, and music choices is so peaceful and relaxing - it really calms me down for some reason. It's like ASMR for not only the ears but the eyes and heart as well. :) Hope you have an amazing day can't wait for the next video!
I really like your videos. It makes me feel a bit of life in Japan even though I never been there. Keep up the great works and please stay safe and healthy!
the scenery at 0:34 ist so calm and beautiful. especially when you think you are in a big city. taking the tram is such a down tempo way of exploring, really nice!
An excellent little film that brought back so many memories of travels on the trams, Oji being a particular favourite, which are so inexpensive. They are a great way to explore off the beaten track Tokyo, there is so much to see an explore.
OMG I've been reading Natsume Soseki's literature lately, but translated into English! I just finished his short novel "Kokoro". I wish I could read his works in Japanese though.
The background music flows nicely with the visuals. This video was gentle and calming, and it takes me back to the numerous times I visited your beautiful city. I will explore it again one day.
I have watched a few of your videos and subscribed to your channel after the first one I watched yesterday. I absolutely love your style of cinematography and the retro filters you use on your videos. I look forward to watching more! Thank you! :)
i was feeling sad because i couldn't travel to japan last year.. but this video reminded me the good times i had while i was there. i love the these videos that you make 💖
I’m so glad I found your account! I really like Japan and travel vlogs but most of the time I’m annoyed by all the talking. I love how much you show us in your videos and I adore the texts you put on the screen, it’s still like your talking to us, which is really nice! Also thanks for explaining so much about what you’re showing! Have a nice day! And keep doing what you love :D
I read "Hard boiled wonderland and the end of the world" while I was suddenly left alone within the city of Shanghai when all people went back home for Chinese New Year. It was a surreal experience which your videos vaguely bring back to mind.
From time to time, I would randomly search for Japan vlogs and this is my first time seeing your channel! How could I have never found it before... Every frame is beautiful. You have a great eye for cinematography (or maybe Japan is just picturesque), it made me want to go to Japan so much!
I stayed in Otsuka in 2016, and took the tram to Waseda and back. It was an old tram, beautifully maintained, (of course!), with the interior decorated with xmas decorations. (It was December.) I also visited the park in Oji in 2019, so it was nice to see this again, looking greener than when I saw it. I never had another opportunity to explore the system further, because my 2020 trip had to be cancelled. Thanks very much for this youtube.
I felt very nice hearing about the Haruki Murakami Library. Hope to be able to visit it someday. The city shots were really really good. You have captured those parts that I usually notice while walking. It feels like you have just highlighted the lesser noticed things. Great work. Hope for more of such content.
I used to travel to Japan 4-6x a year and wander around all over the countryside by train, subway, bus, ferry, streetcar, bullet train, and so on. I loved every minute of every stay I had. I regretted it every time I had to return home. But the pandemic put all of that to a sudden, crunching halt.
Great video, well done. Yes its a great line to explore on. Also a nice walk following the line between Mukōhara Station and Otsukaekimae Station to see all the flowering roses. Hope to visit again soon. Cheers.
Natsukashi na!!! I used to live in Tokyo. I love this video, I definitely want to go back to Tokyo as soon as possible. Tokyo is a crazy city but one can find a lot of serenity in its pockets, your video reflects that perfectly. keep making videos of Tokyo, onegaishimasu.
"I wish I could play any instrument" - Just buy an instrument and start practicing. I started learning how to play the guitar a year ago and it is one of the greatest things I could've done for myself. It really shows what kind of person you are and it is a great patience exercise. Something I'm sure you would be absolutely great at :)
I love Murakami's books, reading "Killing Commendatore" for the second time now, and I've read "Norwegian Wood" like four times, maybe more it was so cool to see Waseda university in your video like this, it just hit me like "oh, right, that place actually exists" thanks for the chance to explore Japan through your videos, I enjoy them very much~
@@tfflus8572 no, it's connected to the song by the Beatles, and the woods will eventually come up too, but it's about something else. I highly recommend it

Apart from you vlog at home which are really satisfying, your travel vlog are very impressive too. I like the vibes, cinematography, music and also your humor ;) I usually go to Japan for a vacation every year. Now I noted many new interesting places from your channel including this tram (never knew before although I have been in Tokyo). Hope the pandemic ends real soon. Please keep going with the channel.
