I'm not sure which is more shocking; how fast you are leaving fast bikes in your dust, OR the fact that the CR stays wherever you put it in a corner. Epic video!
one of the best videos i've ever seen. i had a '96 in mx trim. it'd pull trees outta the ground. this guy makes them other fools look like, well, fools.
I think this maybe the best video on youtube, thank you for sharing, never sell the bike, I've had 5 of these bikes and allot of others, the CR500 will always be special to me.
She JUST wants to EAT! Thanks for the vicarious ride. Smiled wide the whole race. Wish I was healthy enough to sling a leg over the new 2018 CR500! A beast!
A big 4 stroke with an Akra or LV oder something like that sounds nice too. But 750s SuMos sound like a Tractor, like gurgling, it's really nice. (if you use it as an A2)
Wow very impressive... fun watch you pick them off one by one... and I was thinking a CR500AF would get smoked. That bike was just cruising... barely broke a sweat. I guess we know why they call them a Supermoto!
video was awesome. im super jealous, I love the bike . Sounds like when your at a low rpm & you go full throttle that the motor is bogging a little bit. not sure if it's running rich or if you purposely have it that way for the long wide open runs so not to run it lean but other tab that the bike is super bad ass. I'll be looking for more videos.
I figured you had it running rich on purpose if not it would surely seize from the long full throttle straights. You obviously know what your doing the bike handles & runs better than any other I've seen set up for supermoto . It wouldn't take too much more to be able to pull away from the big cc bikes. Keep the videos coming.
Holy shit I needed that! I have been pointing out to my family lately dickheads on bikes, its rear to find someone who has the balls to pin it and shift up, as opposed to the noise making boy racers local to me that think if your making heaps of noise in the same gear you the fastest ever. Awesome riding there man it was a real pleasure to speed along with you!
I can remember riding a cr 500 2000 model around a track. 110klm/hr. In second. And DR 600. Suzuki. Was getting up to 4th gear. On the same track. Geez there powerful 🤪
jbcohe What setup are you running for front brakes? Ive been looking for a front lever setup like that but cant seem to find one. Id love to have a reservoir with a twist cap instead of the crappy philips screws...
It's a 13mm Brembo master cylinder that I got new from Yoyodyne. The caliper is a Motomaster 4 piston with Motomaster race pads. The combo works really good together and is inexpensive. I have no plans to change it.
What sprockets did you replace from the stock ones? Definitely been regeared. My race bikes were a 83 cr480 and a 87 cr500 this 500 has been tamed through the regearing changes alot easier than the violent power of the stock motocross racing bike
Great vid ,the coversion really works well on tar race track,i had a 89 cr500 MX man i wish i'd kept it ,how do you fine the vibration in the alloy frame .
whats the mpg on your bike? its crazy cause i have an older cr500, and it would finish the whole tank in like 45 min or 1 hour of riding it very hard...my cr250 would last me up to 5 hours with a oversized tank..
Giovanni, I have the bike jetted very rich. It gets about 25-27 MPG under heavy throttle conditions like this, or 30 on the street going close to the speed limit.
It could totally be the jetting too rich, my crf 250 was carbureted with somewhat like a 105 jet if i recall, and then by fiddling about the mechanic mounted a monster jet, way bigger than the other, bottom line, speed did nt change much, but mileage got greatly reduced, hence you could easily be wasting fuel without noticeably decreasing performances or flooding
Isn't engine breaking forbidden on a two-stroke? Or is that a myth? Ive heard that due to lack of permanent lubrication, 2-strokes need gas-oil mixture in order to work properly hence downshifting and engine breaking deprives the cylinder of adequate lubrication. Correct me if im wrong. Epic video!
well, keep in mind it's not a 125, each round of those 7k per minute he's pumping are 4 times the usual dirt bike or even more considering how race prepped this bike might be, so it's clear he must hold back a little bit sometimes plus the owner knows the track and is well capable of racing that beast, so that makes all the difference
he literally smoked everybody hehehe ! actually this is a 1st person point of view from the rider's helmet cam so you dont get to see anything behind to tell just how rich the mixture is ..but the way she sounds ,he's got it right ..probably using something like yamalube "R" synthetic two stroke oil if a pint bottle to 5 gal. can of gas = 50 : 1 mix that will run forever and not leave one spot of carbon inside the engine at all ...and the only time it will smoke is on start up with the choke on ! ...after warm up it wont smoke at all and the spark plug will look like it was pulled from a 4 stroke
Ha ha. Thanks Donnie. Actually, I was running Maxima Castor 927 at 32:1. More than once when I went back to the pits I had people come by to say "we're pitted over by the front straight and every lap we'd hear you go by and then smell your bike... and it smelled so good... we had to come find you and see what it was"
@@AdventureBronson Hi, I saw an article on an old open class KTM years ago which they said was the fastest MX bike recorded, which I think was clocked at around 120mph. Maybe your beastie could be a contender? I also remember Performance Bike magazine setting up an 88' or 89' model CR for supermotor racing many years ago and they had difficulty in gearing it high enough to make the most of that awesome powerband. I also remember them removing one radiator as they said that model was over-cooled and prone to cold seizures. Good luck with all that you do and keep that front mudguard pointing at the sky!
I'm not sure which is more shocking; how fast you are leaving fast bikes in your dust, OR the fact that the CR stays wherever you put it in a corner. Epic video!
cecilyt006 the fact that hes doing over 200km an hour and when he cracks the throttle he catwalks
Those Superbikes are barely touching the throttle mate 🤦♂️
@@snkneo-geo933 or very bad drivers on the bigger bikes
the speed you hold in turn one is unbelievable, and late breaking! ...wow motard weapon.
Very Impressive, This Is Why The 2 Stroke was Outlawed From Gran Prix Road Racing, Great Riding Skills👍
Passing everybody and that CR was hardly running. LOL!! Good video.
mary and chris dougherty-Young a few were 250s but definitely not all most I saw were sv650, cbr600rr and the like mid bikes
mary and chris dougherty-Young i would like to see you ride that beast that things prob faster than whatever you got
I sometimes just listen to this video while doing dishes & stuff...
Me too! (But no dishes:)
Lol
Good to see a Top bike and rider combo.
Dan, Brisbane Australia
one of the best videos i've ever seen. i had a '96 in mx trim. it'd pull trees outta the ground. this guy makes them other fools look like, well, fools.
When u on a superbike and an mx bike passes you on an asphalt track
Heyy_its_ryan thats when its time to hang up the leathers lmao
Nothing like the smell of premix in the morning. Great vid

tHE GUYS that pressed the dislike button, musta been on them sports bikes,
blackhat400 or ride 4 strokes
@@tidepods3182 or ride yamaha
Or ktm riders 😂
the power of the 2 stroke
Wow... Simply wonderful. That is Power !
Safe and quick. Great ride. You never know what line a lot of those guys are going to use.
Braaaaap, Braaaap, Braaaap, Braaaap!!!!!
LOVE IT!!! Great job man. You are very skilled. Stay safe!!

awesome video.
4. stroke destroyer.
The Mazza I just wish they were more reliable!
That 500 sounds better than all the street bikes combined
A big 4 stroke with an Akra or LV oder something like that sounds nice too. But 750s SuMos sound like a Tractor, like gurgling, it's really nice. (if you use it as an A2)
thanks for the ride along. getting closer to finishing mine. great video
I’m the proud original owner of a 1998 CR500R in dirt trim, and she’s a beast,
Great ride there mate , You had the bike set up great.
Awesome! Those power wheelies coming out of turn 15... oh my gosh, that's what it's all about!
Each pass made me smile
She’s a gem. You sure know how to ride her😲
Dude, that was awesome
Nice and smooth, great control. Time to bump up a class.
lovin the angle
What an awesome bike that was some great riding bro.
2 stroke for ever!!!
What's its top speed with this gearing?
Even with that long gearing it wheelies by itself so fucking easily!
Thank you. The top speed was right about 120 MPH.
Love the CR500! Made Cafe bikes cry!
Nice ride :) cool. Very well behaved on the track and quick as well.
Big up 2 strokes!
EPIC! That guy made all those other Riders and bikes look like chumps!
well set up and tuned
Nice riding!!!

Looked like a lot of fun!
very entertaining video
man I wish I had that bike
Damn ur flying by people. . What was the lap times?
SOB they are gonna have to put a damn speed limit on the track because of you!

What sort of hp you getn outa this puppy?
lol dude.. 41mm carb??
What kind of triple clamps are those? I recently changed mine for asphalt and it made a huge difference. Went from chopper to razor

That old girl picking up the front end whenever he lets her climb on the pipe. Sweet.
Nice job !! love this.
Cool track!!!!! Nice bike!
How's the maintenance of the Cr500, is it reliable and when do you do a top end ?
final velocity.....?
what power
What sprockets did you replace from the stock ones? Definitely been regeared. My race bikes were a 83 cr480 and a 87 cr500 this 500 has been tamed through the regearing changes alot easier than the violent power of the stock motocross racing bike
how many rpm it goed at max the cr 500?
about 7000
Nice bike i thought of making one of my 500s a supermoto
What size of rear sprocket are you using (how many gear teeth) ?
Jess Stuart, the gearing is 15/38.
Great vid ,the coversion really works well on tar race track,i had a 89 cr500 MX man i wish i'd kept it ,how do you fine the vibration in the alloy frame .
Sean logie, it vibrates a LOT but it's such a thrill to ride that you quickly forget about it.
Twisted engineering bars smoothed my conversion right out

paroutdiok what you said is correct but it's only a problem if you can't afford to rebuild it and I'm guessing the bike in this video is a track bike
A CR 500 é vendida no brasil ?
5handOW_M4st3RO Ô filho, não existe mais nenhuma 500 dois tempos desde 1997 ou 1998.

keep it well below that scary power band!
brady moritz hitting the powerband isn’t the property riding technique
that's funny, the two stroke barely on the pipe...nice outside passing...u probably ruined all those riders day...hahaha

Awsome. Made my day did that. :)

Uh, is that a KTM fender?
Heinrich Von Kekelnazi , it's a universal supermoto front fender.
Smoking the 4 strokes
Passing everyone while not even giving throttle. Not even 'attack' mode. Sunday cruise. Need a bigger track.
Should've made it a race, and mounted up the knobbies....
you live around NY? i want to do a track day, got a sv650 an husky 450.
+Chicken Strip Dave - sorry, I do not. I live in Delaware.
*That sound!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!*
nice scoot man
what sprockets you usin'
....sounds like moon gearing
anything a cr 500 can't do ???
I just turn my cell to wide screen and enjoyed
Looks like you got the clutch problem fixed. Sounds and runs good man. Couldn't see your top speed, what was it??
My Vapor speedo broke, but based on what the Aprilia SXV550 guys were saying I'd put the top speed with this gearing (15/38) at about 115 mph.
You fast! What do you think of a sumo WR450, CRF450, or a DRZ for NYST?
crf is definitely the fastest since its a race ready bike, but wr 450 and drz require less maintenance.
Top speed?
Right around 120 mph
Awesome man!
Haha at 2:10 you're flying
FUCK FUCKING FUCK YES MATE. ABSOLUTE MOTARD MADNESS.
VERY IMPRESSIVE!
Giving it beans lad
Giving some of them super sports a scare lol. What's the top speed?
n1k007, top speed is right about 120 mph gearing limited.

That thing corners like electricity.
Music!!! To my ears
Roadracers really hate it when a dirt bike smokes them on they're super expensive roadbikes.
Greg real racers wouldnt know what thats like. only fake road racer squids get smoked by dirtbikes lol
@NoNoNoNii only on a kart track is a supermoto faster. They have no chance on anything bigger
