The Metal Galaxy album has the widest range of genres mixed with Babymetal's style. You have this one with Indian influences, you have Spanish influences with Night Night Burn, rap with BxMxC, and Irish with Oh! Majinai. They really don't ever limit themselves when it comes to what they will incorporate into their songs. A lot of that comes from the fact that they have many different teams working on songs, each with their own individual ideas, so that's is a big reason why they have such a diverse catalog of music. What really makes it all work is that the girls themselves can do pretty much anything put in front of them.
I agree with all of this except there's nothing Irish about Oh! MAJINAI. If Metal Galaxy is a musical world tour, that song comes from the forests of Finland. Essentially it's Babymetal's take on Finnish folk metal.
@@MarkSpohn77 would have been funny to have Gloria Estefan on the album as a feature :-) I think it would have been a nice way to get press in the Latin communities. The song even has enough sections where it could easily be done. It would be very different from the usual Babymetal mixes, which is contrasts. But the song doesn't have a lot of contrasts anyway.
⚡ 💕 / 🕉 ☮ You're right, this was intended to be a mix of Indian style with BABYMETAL's brand of metal. Before it was officially titled, this song was on their setlists as "Ind-Metal". "Shanti" means "Peace" in Sanskrit and related languages, and repeated three times, like the song title, refers to peace in body, speech, and mind. From the song: "Shanti Shanti, Prana of living beings Shanti Shanti, Chakra blooming life Shanti Shanti, Samsara of living beings Shanti Shanti, Karma, be in high spirits" It's great that Su has an opportunity for some vocal pyrotechnics on this one. And I'm sure they all loved learning this choreography. Moa mentioned in an interview that the hand gestures were pretty challenging to begin with, especially since that style of dance was very new to her.
Excellent reaction - and everything you said was absolutely on the mark. You are also completely right about Su, she is an exceptional vocal talent (it is a shame not all reactors recognise that fact) and it is not just the song writing and production, musicianship etc, it is her that makes BABYMETAL special and unique so they stand out above and beyond other bands.
This reminds me of the interview with mori-sensei (their SG teacher). He was watching babymetal live for the first time, and he was in the VIP with other big shots in the music industry, both foreign and local. One of them said that babymetal would not be possible without the vocal power of su.
As a Japanese speaker I love how Su can sing with such clear, beautiful Japanese pronunciation which other mumble Japanese singers just can dream of...
@@batteriesnotincluded4734 It was actually not an interview, but his radio-program or podcast. If I would be able to understand Japanese I would listen to it.
Yes! It's really emotional! This one live you can only find it in the Babymetal Reactor Resource channel with the Logo on top, otherwise il will be ista-blocked!
The backup dancer in here was Fujihira Kano. The other two were Okazaki Momoko and Sayashi Riho. Kano can also be seen at PA PA YA!! and Elevator Girl Music Video. Momoko can be seen at DA DA DANCE! Music Video. Riho can be seen at any of the Glastonbury 2019 video.
Riho is also in the 'DA DA DANCE' music video. It has footage with Momoko from the LA Forum concert in October 2019 (the song premiere), and one of the Osaka Jo Hall concerts from November 2019 with Riho.
If you want to see more BABYMETAL poppy side, I think "Brand New Day" its the best choice Its their collaboration with Polyphia, progressive math rock clash with Su vocal and typically excellent guitar work from Polyphia The most beautifull song on BABYMETAL recent album
Shanti means peace in Sanskrit. Bollywood theme. Even the way Su-Metal sings have the Bollywood sound. High pitched voice. Next check out Oh!Majinai which have Finnish Polka and pirate metal vibe, collaboration with Joakim Broden from Sabaton. The Avenger is KanoMetal or Kano Fujihara. Metal Galaxy album is diversed and fuses other cultures and genres. Kitsune Up 🦊🦊🦊🤘🤟
Nice & thanks again from Japan 有り難う💛。 This song has been welcome by people with Indian background. Team BABYMETAL is happy to see that. I can imagine how diligently the songwriter, choreographer, girls and musicians tried to understand and study Indian music and dance moves. They took a risk of being called "fake" or "cheap copy" of Indian music while they really wanted to create their own metal music with comfortable Indian flavor paying their due respect to the culture.
Great reaction (once again). :-) Shanti was definitely one of the most surprising BM songs for me. It took me quite some time to get into it but now I love it. It's really an unusual, but uplifting track.
Great reaction, you noticed her skill in this song very well. It's not as crazy as iine and not even that heavy, it's one of their least heavy song. Almost like ballad like songs heavy, but more much up beat. Very broadly speaking the second album of Metal Resistance had as variety/theme incorporating different metal sub-genres and the third album Metal Galaxy had as mentioned by others incorporating music styles from around the world. My Babymetal suggestion would be: Oh Majinai. If you want to check out some metal really from India: Bloodywood can deliver on that. Pick for example: Ari Ari or Machi Bhasad. Heavier than this Babymetal song. Although Bloodywood have both heavier and less not so heavy songs. About half/half. PS Suzuka/Su-metal is also a fan of Pentatonix :-) Two members of Pentatonix kind of suggested they would do a cover of Babymetal but they never did. They did cover older 'sister group' of Babymetal at Amuse: Perfume (they do techno-/electropop).
Excellent. 3rd girl is Kano Fujihara who was 14 y.o. in this & the "PA PA YA!!" vid. She was/is one of the 3 fill-in dancers, a.k.a. 'Avengers'. Kano, like Su-metal & Moametal before her, was Student Council President (2019) of Sakura Gakuin (Cherry Blossom Academy). She is now 16 & is in the J-pop Idol group @onefive. "BBB" is the 2nd single from the group's 1st album: 「BBB」Official MV - Dance version ruclips.net/video/NbIa9N_3g6E/видео.html Regarding BABYMETAL'S dives into other ethnic & cultural styles of music, choreo, & performance, they are very aware that these forays might be viewed as an unwanted intrusion, so they always approach these cultural & ethnicities that aren't their own with great respect & gratitude. I think it's a big reason they do them so well. Arigatou! 🦊🤘 #notacult
Great reaction and amazing track. Su is great in this. 🤘🏻 I vote for Arkadis as the next BM reaction. 😊 And in case you haven't yet, check out the Babymetal Reaction Resource (I think its called)
Indian reactors are just wow'ed that Babymetal would pay homage to their culture and do it so well. They "out Bollywood" Bollywood so to speak. With so much Babymetal to experience, I'm not sure I would do a repeat, but there is, IMO, a better vid of Shanti, Shanti. Yes, the effects are cool, but they take away too much from the performance. The proshot focuses on the girls amazing Hindi dancing and was filmed at one or two concerts, so it has the continuity that many feel the proshots lack. On the subject of dancing, I would suggest Awadama Fever. It doesn't seem to get much reactor love and has one of their most kawaii dance routines. Maybe this performance inspired the moniker "Yui-bot"? ruclips.net/video/5mbx2TTAX04/видео.html
Another example of why Suzuka Nakamoto is one of the best, if not The best, vocalists in rock and metal. There are a few that are a bit better when they are singing in their specific style but can they excel in multiple song styles?
Babymetal loves a challenge ! And Suzuka says she regularly does karaoke, usually on her own and tried to sing really anything. Any genre, etc. I assume she most have discussed some styles with her vocal coach as well. Doing all that most have helped in her in some ways.
yep that's Babymetal always changing and bringing something new and different, this time with this exotic punjabi-metal song :V Be ready because the 4th album is already in production, and will probably hear a new single mid year and album release by the end of the year \m/ _Stairway To Living Legend_ is coming. #LivingLegend #NotACult #Babymetal

There is a lot of Sanskrit in this song and as you noticed the singing style, dance moves, and instrumentation are all Indian inspired. Su-metal will tackle anything. They did this at the Glastonbury Festival and you can see the dancing much better but the BBC did a bad job on the sound. I don't think there is a good live version of Night Night Burn! their Latin music style song with a few Spanish words as well as English and Japanese in it. Also a lack of good lives of Brand New Day which is their collaboration with the guitarists from the prog rock band Polyphia.
nice reaction. it's not easy to sing the musical scales involved in this song for many folks who didn't grow up with listening to it. But Su hits it like the pro she is. Just another reason why Su is a better singer than what She gets credit for. I guess haters are gonna hate. You know what though, when folks try to compare Babymetal to bands they like so they can say how good that other band is. It goes to show that Babymetal has become the measuring stick. You can't say your band is good unless you try to put them up there with Babymetal. For other stylistic singing try Oh! Majinai and Nite nite Burn. Different styles, very different songs and yet still it sounds like Babymetal
lol...love your reaction Lee. Iine is my least favourite BM song. Shanti Shanti Shanti, well it pays tribute to Indian metal. The best performance of this in my opinion is live at Glastonbury. Do check it out.
