Great reaction. They were using shanti with the Indian meaning of peace - repeated 3 times peace in body, mind and spirit (or thought, word and deed ... you will know a lot better than I do).
The lyrics talk of shakras, kharma and so on as well.
This was their homage to India and Indian (or Bollywood) music right from the sitar at the start through to the tamba(?) drums you noticed, Su-metal's vocal style and even the choreography was as authentic as they could make it. Moametal said how hard it was to get the hand movements just right.
BABYMETAL will surprise you with each new song you listen to, they are all different and they mix and blend so many different styles and genres with the metal. Try 'Road of Resistance' live in Japan for another completely different style of song to the ones you have heard so far ... but you could pick any song that takes your fancy.

Nice to see you're back with more BM songs and nice Japanese skills.
They brought back SSS (Shanti x3) last year at live concerts in Asia and Australia, and was one of the regular songs in their setlist, i think is cool because is one of the songs is usually favorite among the female fans, they didn't at Europe and UK Tour but last month they did it again at Legend MM "20 Night" celebrating MomoMetal's birthday, and more recently at Legend 43 in Okinawa.
This journey to Metal Galaxy on their 3rd album from 2019 got a lot of songs picking up rhythms from all over the world and combine with the unique sound of BM.
SSS got a clear Indian influence and elements, others songs got folk metal or latin rhythms, or Thai rap, so this journey is wild. They got another song with a title referred to Hindu mythology called "MAYA" but the sound is nothing like this.
The third backup dancer or "avenger" in the official MV is Kano Fujihira, just remember none of them got official name revealed and aren't official members, but that status changed recently with MomoMetal.
MoaMetal talked about this saying it was one of the hardest choreo to match up and get in sync with every one of the avenger, especially at Legend Metal Galaxy 2020 when all the avengers switch up in the same show (also taking it a break) while Moa performing the full set.
    Next suggestion:
    - Megitsune official MV
    See you next time 🦊🤘🔥

This song incorporates Indian music, with lyrics and dancing to the tune. Next time, please listen to the メタり(Metali). I have heard people say several times that they resemble the Indian band Bloodywood.

    ⚡ 💕 / 🕉 ☮
Before it was officially titled, this song was on their setlists as "Ind-Metal", probably short for "Indian Metal".
    From the song:
"Shanti Shanti, Prana of living beings
    Shanti Shanti, Chakra blooming life
Shanti Shanti, Samsara of living beings
Shanti Shanti, Karma, be in high spirits"
It's great that Su has an opportunity for some vocal pyrotechnics on this one.
And I'm sure they loved learning this choreography.
Moa mentioned in interviews that the hand gestures were a little difficult since it was unlike any of their other dancing.
The theme of the 'Metal Galaxy' (2019) album this is from had BABYMETAL traveling the galaxy and picking up musical influences.

Thanks from Japan 有難う💛。"Musical diversity" is what BABYMETAL are always pursuing. This song has been welcome by many people with Indian background like you. I am sure Team BABYMETAL is happy to see that. I can imagine how diligently the songwriter, choreographer, Su / Moa, and Kamis tried to analyze, study and understand music and dance moves in Indian style. They took a risk of being called "fake" or "cheap copy" of Indian music whereas they simply wanted to create their own metal music with comfortable Indian vibes paying their due respect to the culture. Kudos to them, as always.
