Lost the extra plastic piece - no replacement - extreme frustration - screw Petzl and their stupid new buckle, if it's not broken don't fix it. This system is a pos - go Black Diamond.
Surprisingly poor design from a respected manufacturer. Love the headlamp. This clip on the headband boggles my mind why it's so bad. This video is at least something ... but why not add actual direction, either voice or text, like hold the clip in this orientation, insert this way, pull strap through and secure here. Instead we are freeze-framing every half-second to see what's being done. You guys can do better than this. Edit: I still have no idea how I got this clip back on the headband.
Look inside the plastic headband buckle. You'll see a little cut out. This is where the plastic bar at the end of the headband strap sits. Feed it through like he does here :11 then with the plastic bar at the end headband strap, push that inside the buckle and then slot it into the cut out
15 yrs in the army, lots of outdoor exp... I can say definitively that this is one of the stupidest, most counter intuitive straps I've ever had to suffer through. Patent pending 😂😂😂😂 like anyone would be dumb enough to try to replicate this garbage🤣
you hadn't showed the most painful part of removing the headband FROM the headlamp itself. Is it possible at all or it is just a signature trap by Petzl?
The buckle detaches on its own! The first time, I found it in my car, didn’t know what it was but fortunately I decided to keep it until I found where it came from, and could re-attach it when I figured it out. But now, I just discovered it was missing on the headband, so it is lost for good. How did you guys come with such a design??

Just used this headlamp for a week in the backcountry and it was absolutely fantastic, except for this piece coming off. Next version please fix this and you'll have a really great product!
Great headlamp, but I'm constantly putting the buckle back on. I will probably buy a replacement headband, I am using this headlamp on trails with a sheer drop of 100 feet in some places, and have to make sure it actually stays on my head. Like I said, I love the headlamp, but the band itself makes me lack confidence in it staying together in situations that really matter.

I also lost the little plastic piece holding the headband together (on the Petzl Actic). I just reached out to customer service and hope to get some kind of a replacement piece or improved headband. Have used Petzl for 20+ years and this never happened. Was there a design change? Anyway, I hope this will be improved in the future since this is not a "cheap" headlamp. Thank you.
The second piece fell on the floor while I was moving house without me even realising. Lost an hour of precious time looking for it and going thru this frikken video. ATROCIOUS CHEAP NASTY DESIGN

Thanks so much!! I was at a loss because I thought I lost this particular buckle. I just found it today and your video helped me so much. I couldn't figure out how to keep it in place and not slip through. What a bummer though, seems like a flaw in the design that this happens.
Hello We did a small modification to the part to increase the gripp... ifyou want, we can send you a new spare part Please directly contact your local distributor to get this part : www.petzl.com/en/outdoor/contact_country
Wow, awesome! mine just fell off earlier and I was so disappointed that my lamp was ruined. By freeze framing this video, I got it back on. Not sure why I came off but with this video it was easy to put back. THANK YOU!!! This is the first French product I ever owned and I am very impressed. Well engineered and the features are well designed. It takes a little practice with the button to master all the modes but after a little practice, it will be easy. Love this headlamp!
Massive design flaw

First there's self checkout, now there's assemble it yourself headlamps. 😕
Does anyone now where to find a buckle at instead of having to buy the whole new headlamp strap. This is a bad design flaw. I just need a buckle
Wow, pure science! I'd failed the logic puzzle until I saw this
