I'm very happy that Holopro talents are pushing back against unicorn behaviour.
Back when Tempus started collabing with the EN girls and Kronii got push back about having male friends.
I was so pissed off at the unicorns for clearly being a bunch of deluded morons that thought they owned her and could dictate who she associates with. You're not holopro management. And even management has a legal limit on where they can intervene.
The people who got angry at Kronii was because she went back on what she originally said, not that she was collabing with a male.
First off you don't know if the message was send by a "unicorn" and male collabs are already a "deal-breaker" for unicorns so I doubt Ao has any. Could just be an anti trying to stir shit since marshmallow is a low hanging fruit.
And there is no such thing a "pushback against the uniorns" a talent decides her branding and who she wants to collab with. There are people on both sides who get mad when a talent says "I will collab with a male" or when she says "I won't collab with a male" both groups of people who get mad at a talent for either things are antis.

They claim Amelia lied to them, you can clearly see them in the comments of the first Worms collab.
You can say they're different people all you want but I see them supporting each other, they follow other unicorns and talk about how much Holostars suck and how low their viewership is. These people are not right in the head.
Marshmallows are entirely anonymous. You have no idea who sent the message. Could have been a rival corpo fan, could be someone that just hates Hololive or vtubers. Holo members used to do kuso marshmallow readings for this reason of fishing up garbage for a stream. Honestly clipping channels making drama clips off these is pretty shit.

Unicorns are the single biggest problem in this community and I wish Cover as a whole took a much stronger stance against that kind of behavior.

Not like its any better in EN. Shiori had to deal with BS from day 1 simply from mentioning that she'd collab with whoever she felt like. Kronii and Ame were repeated harassed back when they were actually interacting with Stars. Hell, there's still somehow weirdos in Calli's chat that freak out whenever she gets raided by Stars. People like to paint Kiara as this giant man-hater, but in truth there's been multiple occasions of stuff she WANTED to do, only for her to get bullied into submission.
@@Godoflegosthere are weirdos on both sides, the shiori situation was propagated on /vt/ and is by no means reflection of her actual fanbase. On the flip side there are a lot of people who twisted her message and convinced themselves that she will collab with males and when it becomes apparent that she isn't interested in doing that they get mad about it.
Calli also has made multiple statements about not shipping her with anyone and respecting other girls choices, but people seem to gloss over that stuff a lot.

Calli is painfully obviously not comfortable with being involved in sexual content in general. While she's basically been forced to give up, to a degree (particularly thanks to how aggressive Takamori shippers got), its pretty clear that Calliope "I'm married to myself" Mori would rather not be shipped at ALL.

it happens often enough that two content creators or w/e start to hang out for their job, but start developing good chemistry. then they start hanging out with one another more and more until it becomes a large chunk of their (content and) identity and its a relationship, official or not. people didnt sign up for this other person.

The intersection of hololive fans and holostars fans exists but is very small. Which is why Cover moved away from 1) organizing weird co-ed esports streams and 2) banning overlaps of Debuts across all branches.
The first couldn't compare with talent-driven projects like Pekora's HCMC or the stars Rust servers.
And the latter was was especially damaging for UPROAR, who debuted in an environment where 150.000 viewers decided to not watch their debuts.
Advent and Armis debuted without any issues in spite of overlaps, expanding the viewer base successfully

Ina has collabed with a few people like Pikamee/Henya, Calli has collabed with a few, Kiara has recently started collabing with more Indies and with Mouse but I think she stopped, I think Mumei has only collabed with Selen, I don't think Fauna has ever collabed with anyone outside of EN.
I don't know why this is but it's really not a good thing. It can allow toxic elements fester unseen. They don't make a ruckus until you do something you don't want and if you don't do stuff to get them noticed in order to ban them they will eventually attack because the streamer will end up doing something they don't want. It's hard stepping on those kinds of eggshells

I dont watch Holostars (mostly lack of translations, but I've seen some EN before). However, it's not my choice if a favorite Hololive girl collabs with one. I do have the option to just not watch, something these "totally normal people" that send such messages need to learn. I am not required to like every single thing a Vtuber does, and there are other idols to watch if need be.

I hope management saw this and decided to take action. They can be anonymous on Marshmallow, but Marshmallow uses Apple IDs and Google E-mails (or other email addresses) to be able to sign-up. Afaik. Hololive as a whole, all branches, needs way more message vetting and moderation efforts. When chat, marshmallows or supas become a clownshow, rarely does anyone put a stop to it. The one exception I remember is a talent (don't remember who) that in response, promoted a number of OG fans to moderator status and let them run amok on the antis in chat.
Everything is checked beforehand, even fan letters.
The talents may still decide to show stuff on their own volition.

In all fairness, this was brought up on stream by the talents themselves and wasn't taken out of context so it's entirely fair to clip. Though, Holoclips does tend to be more dramabaity than other clippers.
@@PingTPunk-rq9us Marshmallows are basically anti and shitposter bait. Whenever people put them up they get a bunch of garbage. They got so much of it talents would run kuso marshmallow streams just to read some of the worst of it. They've known this for years. It's a big problem when people in the comment section try to guess at poster intent when Hololive has had antis filling up vod comments but all of a sudden THIS is definitely a fan. Lots of people could have told you what this clip would turn into.
@@Helmir I feel the problem maybe be more so the fact that this could pass as a "fan". We know there are vocal "fans" like this in the community and it's an ugly thing to be reminded of, hence the strong feelings in the comments.

Its unfortunately only going to get more frequent as the years go by... even if people do push successfully against it, its a part of the underlying stigma of being in this environment and for some just conditions of being an Entertainer. Even more so as a Virtual one... No matter who it is, its simple wrong to threaten in such a setting and way.
Even if your entertaining role is to play the role of a para-social partner. Of course it isn't the case here. Its stills good to mention.
Just remember everyone... It is often an arduous job and or lifestyle. It isn't always if ever easy for most. In saying all this, you can still be connected or feel a sense of social or enjoyable connection to VTubers. Its okay. There's nothing wrong with it. But ensure that you have control and an understanding of things. You don't need to know everything about someone, just have awareness of the environment of social streaming and such things outside of it at times.
That's not to say they aren't people too, quite the contrary - often I believe they'd prefer that to be acknowledged.
Life isn't simple, but... no one ever said it was going to be easy.
But... that doesn't mean you should give up.
There's always an opportunity and a way for improvement, you just might not see it yet. Its different for everyone, but I can reassure you... Give it time. Live. If you feel you can't, then strive. Thrive. Search. Its not easy, but its an adventure only you can take on. Soon you'll find how you want to live. Or perhaps you'll choose a way to thrive... Maybe just keep striving even after. But I promise, there's always a reason to take another step, remember that it's okay to sometimes take a step back.
