I think Prismo was watching an alternate universe where Jake is still alive, which might be why Finn has the tattoo. Maybe that Finn wished Jake back to life. Or Jake is alive in Oooo, hanging our in Finns shirt while his VA focuses on Bender again (since he's done with King Zog now). I don't think the show ever confirmed Jake's death yet. Either way, I don't think the tattoo was a "because it's a cartoon" mistake in this show.

Jake & Prismo are COSMICALLY LINKED, & not just because Prismo is the dream of a sleeping Jake. There is & has to be an unaltered Jake at some point in EVERY. UNIVERSE. & this fact is actually what allows to Prismo to manipulate things in every universe! The reason Prismo could no longer fix Farmworld after the mutagenic bomb goes off is because the Lich (a cosmic being himself) fully possesses & replaces a dead Jake, essentially removing Jake from that universe on a cosmic level! & the very second that the Finn's use The Maid to kill the Lich, & Farmworld Jake is restored to a normal dog, Prismo gets control again! Further proof is how Jake describes the way he felt when the Lich killed the "old" Prismo - "i remember feeling like someone had peeled away a layer from my brain & my reality was no longer anchored to any point of reference & i had to fight to keep from being crushed under the weight of an unforgiving new paradigm of ultimate reality." Prismo has a connection with every Jake in every universe but I think because that reality's Jake becomes Prismo, he feels a bit more tangibly connected to him... because he is.

I could be wrong but from what I've read online as well as what was available from trial, it was a desperate attempt at his ex-Mistress trying to get back at him for their breakup. Which she succeeded. He got fired and dropped from every single animation studio that was working with him before. He'll never be able to get a job because of a trial that never went through.
